(Alibaba): Alibaba is one of the leading e-commerce and cloud service companies in the world. Intensifying competition in China's e-commerce market and regulatory uncertainty have weighed on the stock price over the past few years. But this could also spell significant upside for investors from here as the company continues to see strong demand in its cloud business. The average analyst's 12-month price target of $162 implies a 39% upside from the current share price. The stock trades at a modest forward price-to-earnings multiple of 11.7, indicating that investors are undervaluing its expected growth. Alibaba, like its U.S. counterpart Amazon, is a very tech-centered business. Investments in artificial intelligence (AI), where Alibaba Cloud offers data intelligence services and other AI services for other companies, are driving accelerating growth in its cloud business, with revenue up 18% year over year in the most recent quarter. Alibaba also uses AI in its e-commerce business to understand user behavior, make personalized product suggestions, and manage supply chains. This makes it a formidable competitor, despite its recently weak revenue growth. However, consumer spending is back on the rise in its Taobao and Tmall marketplaces. Overall, Alibaba's revenue growth has accelerated sharply in recent quarters, and it's also reporting improving margins. Analysts expect the company's earnings to grow at an annualized rate of 16% over the next several years. Given the low earnings multiple the stock trades at today, Alibaba could not only reach Wall Street's average 12-month price target but potentially double in value within the next three to five years. Jeremy Bowman (Lyft): Lyft may be a forgotten stock for most investors, and it's easy to see why. Shares of the No. 2 ridesharing company in the U.S. are down nearly 80% from where they stood at its 2019 IPO, as it entered the market overvalued and struggled during the pandemic. However, while it plays second fiddle to Uber, Lyft has innovated with new features, recently made a smart new acquisition, and is building momentum. According to one Wall Street analyst, the stock has an 80% upside currently: Last month, Ivan Feinseth of Tigress Financial gave it a buy rating and boosted his 12-month price target on the stock by $2 to $28. Lyft is in a much stronger position than it was a couple of years ago as the company is both delivering solid growth and has turned profitable. In the first quarter, revenue rose 14% to $1.5 billion while adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) nearly doubled from $59.4 million to $106.5 million. It also posted a small profit of $2.6 million on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis. Among the new products driving growth are price lock, which allows customers to lock in a price for a regular commute, Women+, which allows women riders and drivers to match with each other, and Lyft Silver, a service designed to fit the needs of seniors. Lyft also paved the way for its expansion into Europe by acquiring Freenow, a mobility company that's active in nine countries. Overall, Lyft looks poised to continue its double-digit percentage growth and ramp up its profitability, and the stock looks cheap at a price-to-sales ratio of around 1.1. Jennifer Saibil (RH): RH stock has been driven down by macroeconomic pressures, but the business is bouncing back, and the stock should follow. The company is a luxury furniture retailer that operates around 100 galleries in selected affluent communities, mostly in the U.S., though it has recently been expanding into Europe. It also has robust digital channels. However, its bigger ambition is to grow itself into a diversified global luxury brand, and it already operates several upscale restaurants and experiences, including rentable jets and yachts. While its target demographics are generally more resilient than the mass market, RH hasn't been immune to inflation and economic slowdowns. But even amid sagging sales in recent years, it has continued to launch new merchandise lines and open new galleries. Its next, in Paris, is set to open shortly on the Champs-Élysées. Meanwhile, performance at its U.K. gallery has been fantastic, with sales up 47% over last year in the 2025 fiscal first quarter (which ended May 3) and online demand up 44%. Two German locations that have been open for at least a year demonstrated a 60% increase in demand in fiscal Q1, and RH is experiencing accelerating demand in its locations in Brussels and Madrid. In sum, the retailer seems to have turned a corner. It has reported year-over-year revenue increases for the past four quarters, including double-digit percentage increases for the past two quarters. The fiscal first quarter was phenomenal, with a 12% sales increase and an adjusted operating margin of 7%. Yet RH stock is 75% off its peak. The average target price on Wall Street is 24% higher than today's price, and one analyst expects it to jump 137% higher over the next 12 to 18 months. Trading at the cheap valuation of 13 times forward 1-year earnings, RH stock could be a profitable pick right now for risk-tolerant investors. Alibaba is one of the cheapest stocks out there and is becoming an artificial intelligence (AI) leader in China. Let's look at five bargain tech stocks ready for a bull run. Trading at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of below 16.5x analyst 2025 estimates, Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) (NASDAQ: GOOG) is the cheapest of the megacap tech stocks. While best known for its Google search engine, Alphabet has a solid collection of market-leading and emerging businesses. Its YouTube streaming service is the most-watched in the world and the fourth-largest digital advertising platform. Meanwhile, its fast-growing Google Cloud service is the third-largest cloud computing company on the planet. On the emerging technology side, the company has jumped out to the lead in autonomous driving with its Waymo robotaxi service, while it's also at the forefront of quantum computing with its Willow chip. While there is some worry about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on its search business, Google has a strong offering through its Gemini model. In addition, the company has big distribution and ad network advantages. With its new AI mode, users also don't have to even leave its popular Chrome browser and can conveniently toggle between AI, search, and news to get the answers they are seeking. Expect Alphabet to be an AI winner, not an AI loser, setting up the stock for solid gains in the years ahead. Software-as-as-service (SaaS) stocks historically trade at premium valuations due to their recurring revenue models and strong visibility. However, with a forward P/E of around 20.5x and a price/earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio of 0.5 -- with PEGs below 1 indicating a stock is undervalued -- Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) currently finds its stock on the clearance rack. Despite its low valuation, Salesforce has strong growth opportunities ahead. It is looking to become a leader in agentic AI through its Agentforce platform, where customers can create AI agents that will complete tasks with little human intervention. Even though the product has only been available for two quarters, Salesforce already has more than 4,000 paying customers and many more in pilots. Its Data Cloud offering, which helps customers unify their data into a single source, has also seen huge growth. The company's AI agent strategy is already evolving, as it is looking to tightly integrate Agentforce and Data Cloud with its apps and metadata to help lead the way in digital labor. In order to help increase adoption and improve customer satisfaction, the company also recently introduced a new flexible Agentforce consumption-based pricing model that is more aligned with outcomes. If Salesforce can become an AI agent leader, then the stock should have strong upside from here. Trading at a forward P/E of just 10 times and a cash-rich balance sheet, Alibaba (NYSE: BABA) is one of the cheapest stocks around. The company is both an e-commerce and cloud computing leader in China, and it has been seeing strong AI momentum. Earlier this year, it announced that Apple would use its AI models to help power its Apple Intelligence features in China, and it just launched new Qwen3 AI models that are compatible with Apple devices. At the same time, the company has done a great job turning around its core e-commerce platforms by first investing to reaccelerate its gross merchandise volume (GMV) growth and then better monetizing that higher GMV through a small software fee and its AI-powered marketing tool, Quanzhantui. It's also seen strong momentum in its Cloud Intelligence segment. Last quarter, the segment's revenue jumped by 18%, while AI-related revenue more than doubled for the seventh straight quarter. In addition, the company expects its international commerce segment (AIDC) to turn profitable within the next year, which would be a big earnings driver. With a forward P/E of 23 times and a PEG of just 0.2 times, Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) is one of the cheapest chip stocks out there. The company has been seeing strong revenue growth and become the market leader in central processing units (CPUs) in the data center arena. That said, the company's biggest opportunity moving forward is with its graphics processing units (GPUs). While the company is a distant second behind market-leader Nvidia, it has carved out a nice niche with AI inference, which isn't as technically demanding as training and where costs become more important. This is key for AMD, as the inference market is eventually expected to become the much bigger market. If it can only take a little share away from Nvidia in this area, AMD should see very strong growth ahead. With a forward P/E of around 19 times and a PEG near 1, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) remains attractively valued. The company is the leading semiconductor manufacturing contractor in the world, making chips for companies like Nvidia, AMD, and Apple. Semiconductor manufacturing is a difficult business, and with its main competitors Intel and Samsung struggling, TSMC has turned into the primary manufacturer of advanced chips. This has given it strong pricing power and helped it become an invaluable partner to chip designers. As such, TSMC is one of the best-positioned companies to continue to benefit from increasing AI infrastructure spending. It also has a big future opportunity with autonomous driving and robotaxis, as these cars will require a lot of advanced chips, as well. Another way you can expand the potential of your investment is to focus on stocks that are also trading at cheap valuations, since they may be undervalued and possess even greater potential to generate significant returns. Three stocks that check off both boxes are Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM), Alibaba Group Holding (NYSE: BABA), and Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL). With their modest valuations and plenty of exposure to AI, these can be excellent stocks to buy with $5,000 today. A big player in the chipmaking world is Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, or TSMC. The company is responsible for making the vast majority of the advanced chips in the world, supplying 90% of them. These include AI chips. And this leadership position makes it a crucial company for AI's present and future growth. Through the first three months of this year, sales totaled $25.5 billion, up 35% year over year. It generates high profit margins of around 40% as low-cost production in Taiwan gives it an advantage over chipmakers in North America. And the expertise it has developed over the years and economies of scale make its operations highly efficient. TSMC is an integral player in the AI world, and it would be hard to replace its production. As AI spreads, the company is likely to experience a significant uptick in demand. The stock currently trades at less than 23 times its future earnings (based on analyst estimates), which is an absurdly cheap valuation given that's roughly about the same multiple of the average S&P 500 stock. But TSMC is not an average stock, and it arguably deserves much more of a premium given its huge growth potential due to AI. Given the possible upside, this can be a great place to invest $5,000. China-based Alibaba Group is another tech company in the same part of the world that can make for a compelling AI investment. It has a broad business in China that encompasses cloud computing, e-commerce, digital media, and entertainment. Revenue for the first three months of 2025 rose by 7% to $32.6 billion. That growth rate may look unimpressive, but certain segments are growing much faster than others. Its cloud computing business, for example, rose by 18%. And its international digital commerce expanded by 22%. The company says AI has accelerated its growth, and for a seventh straight quarter, revenue related to the technology grew by triple digits. It was reported earlier this year that Alibaba had partnered with Apple to help the iPhone maker develop AI features. The stock is even cheaper than TSMC's shares, at a forward price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of less than 12. Although it's up more than 30% this year, there is still plenty of room for the stock to move even higher. Alibaba has a diverse business, and with AI injecting more growth into its operations, this can be an underrated stock to invest $5,000 into right now. Rounding out this list of underrated AI stocks is Dell Technologies. The company is known for making personal computers, but its business has been experiencing a lot of growth due to high demand for its AI-optimized servers. In its most recent quarter, ended May 2, revenue totaled $23.4 billion, up by a modest 5% year over year. But in its servers and networking business, the increase was much higher at 16% and totaled $6.3 billion. For the current year, the company is projecting AI system sales of about $15 billion. One area to watch is on the consumer side, however. That business experienced an 19% drop in revenue during the quarter but that may present an attractive growth opportunity since AI-powered PCs are in their early innings and may be in hot demand later on. Unfortunately, due to a challenging economy, consumers aren't eager to upgrade to an expensive computer, even if it has cutting-edge technologies. But that could change. Dell can benefit from AI-powered growth in multiple segments of its business, which makes it a compelling place to invest $5,000 and just sit and wait. The stock trades at a forward P/E of less than 13, making this another absurdly cheap growth stock to add to your portfolio for the long haul.
