Open daily from sunrise to sunset, Outlook Beach is one of the best places to witness the sunrise over the Chesapeake Bay. Begin your visit with a morning walk along the beach, a refreshing swim, or a kayaking adventure.
Those looking to unwind can enjoy sunbathing or picnicking on the beach, with several shaded areas providing ideal spots for relaxation. While dogs are not permitted on the beach between May 15 and Sept. 15, they are welcome along the 3.6-mile Fort Monroe Seawall Trail, which is popular for its scenic views and birdwatching opportunities. It's worth noting that lifeguards are on duty most summer days, and public parking and restrooms are available at Fort Monroe.
Visit Firehouse Coffee 1881 for breakfast or lunch. Housed in a restored firehouse, this charming coffee shop sells a variety of sandwiches and beverages, including smoothies, teas, and coffee drinks such as the Dirty Chai and iced mocha.

Kudos to this mom. Spending too much time with in-laws can drive anyone bananas — let alone for a few weeks. One woman took to social media to share that while on an annual family vacation with her husband's side of the family, she decided to leave early and never look back. Kelly Hubbell is a mom of three children, all under the age of seven. The 37-year-old and her family recently trekked up to a lakefront home in upstate New York — which required a 5-hour flight, 2-hour drive and a ferry from Oregon — to spend time with her husband's family. Everyone was all under one roof — which meant Hubbell and her family of five were crammed into one bedroom for what was supposed to be 17 long days. The scene sounded just as chaotic as one would imagine — hyper kids running all around, dealing with in-laws of all kinds and being far away from home. By day 12 — Hubbell had had enough and it didn't help that she was also feeling under the weather. 'I was just feeling really overwhelmed,' Hubbell told So, the 37-year-old packed up her kids and decided to leave the family vacay a few days early. 'And every year, I try to show up with a smile and make it work, not because we don't love being there, but because it's a lot to juggle,' she explained in her Instagram post caption. '…I hit my limit. So we left. (On day 12 mind you). Five days early. No apology. No regret,' she continued. Hubbell was well aware that her husband was bummed and her extended family might gossip about her early deperture but the inspiring mom put herself first — something many women often struggle doing. 'Despite what mom guilt propaganda might tell you, you ARE allowed to protect your peace.' This mom isn't the only one who reached her breaking point on this type of trip. A survey of 2,000 US travelers pointed out that 34% of people don't consider visiting family as a real 'vacation.' 71% of the survey participants said they often feel like they need a vacation from their family vacation to truly unwind and relax. TSA Teases End Of Limits On Liquids In Carry-On Luggage

Recently, the Department of Homeland Security teased the end of the limits on liquids coming through airport security, with Secretary Kristi Noem saying that she is 'questioning' the current limits on liquids and that a change 'may be the next big announcement' concerning the department's review of TSA policies. The statement comes on the heels of several other recent changes to TSA policies. For example, the department recently ended the requirement for travelers to remove their shoes, enhanced perks for military members, and created a dedicated family lane at security in select airports. No indication has been given as to what new rules might replace the current rules that are in place. Currently, the TSA limits the amount of liquid that can be brought through security in hand luggage to 3.4 ounces, and Noem did not specify how things would change. Would ending the policy mean that any amount of liquids would be acceptable? Or, would it mean an increase in the limited amount? The answer is unclear at the moment, as no further details have been provided beyond the tease. It's also possible that the rules go unchanged after further review. Noem wants new technology to fuel changes. Noem said that new advances in technology will hopefully change the way we view airport security in general, by allowing the TSA to maintain a high level of safety with less detailed rules and a more streamlined process overall. 'Hopefully the future of an airport, where I'm looking to go, is that you walk in the door with your carry-on suitcase, you walk through a scanner and go right to your flight,' Noem said. 'It takes you one minute.' The TSA's 3-1-1 liquids rule was originally introduced in 2006 (check out the full timeline here). The rule was introduced in response to an unsuccessful attempt by a passenger to detonate liquid explosives on a transatlantic flight. If a change does end up coming for the liquid limits, it will cement 2025 as a new era of TSA airport security, with two of its most long-standing measures —taking off shoes and taking out liquids—going by the wayside. For now, we wait and see.
