Bourse trading closes in the green on Sunday, buoyed by Arab buying

Cairo – February 16, 2025: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked the week off with a strong performance, closing with a market cap. of LE 2.2415 trillion.
Benchmark index EGX 30 surged by 1.49 percent to hit 30,443.82 points at the end of Sunday's session, followed by EGX 33 – the Shariah index – with a gain of 1.4 percent to close at 3,163.9 points.
EGX 70 jumped by 1.94 percent to 8,565.71 points, with EGX 100 rising 2.01 percent to end the session with 11,735.55 points.
Sunday trading saw 1.772 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.43 billion.
Trading on securities saw Egyptian and foreign traders as net sellers with LE 8.11 million and LE 30.9 million, respectively. Arab traders were net buyers with LE 39.09 million.
The top gains of the session were by Cairo Educational Services which surged by 10.6 percent, Misr National Steel – Ataqa by 8.92 percent, and Emaar Misr for Development by 6.93 percent.
Other notable gains were by eFinance by 5.64 percent, The Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy – Panda by 4.92 percent, Raya Holding For Financial Investments by 4.68 percent, and Elswedy Electric by 4.63 percent.
The largest losses of the session were by Development & Engineering Consultants which fell by 10.17 percent, Gogreen for Agricultural Investment (which continues its red-streak since its IPO) by 7.79 percent, and El Nasr For Manufacturing Agricultural Crops by 4.67 percent.
Other notable dips were by Juhayna which dropped 3.97 percent, Egyptian Iron & Steel by 0.45 percent, and Orascom Financial Holding by 0.24 percent.

National Printing S.A.E. ('National Printing' or the 'Company' or the 'Group'), Egypt's leading integrated printing and packaging platform, today announced its intention to proceed with an initial public offering (the 'IPO' or the 'Offering') of its ordinary shares on the Egyptian Exchange ('EGX') The Offering is expected to consist of a secondary sale of up to 21,171,040 existing ordinary shares, representing 10.0% of the Company's issued share capital, by National Printing International Holding S.A.L., Grandview Investment Holdings Corp and other minority shareholders (the 'Selling Shareholders') The offering will include (i) a private tranche which is fully committed to by Mr. Omran Mohammed AlOmran a leading Saudi Arabian entrepreneur and investor as an anchor investor ('Cornerstone Investor') in the IPO ('Private Tranche') and (ii) a public tranche open for public subscription ('Public Tranche') (collectively the 'Combined Offering'). Details of the Combined Offering are outlined in the Offering Highlights section, below Both the Private Tranche and Public Tranche will be offered at the same price per share (the 'Offer Price') National Printing is currently in the process of obtaining the required approvals with regards to the Offering, including approval of the public subscription notice (the 'PSN') and any other approvals from the Financial Regulatory Authority ('FRA'). MSMEDA Injects LE 2.2 Billion Into Alexandria Projects Since 2014

Egypt's enterprise agency has channelled LE 2.2 billion into Alexandria since 2014, backing micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, training programmes, and infrastructure upgrades. Jul 20, 2025 Egypt's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has invested LE 2.2 billion in Alexandria since July 2014, supporting more than 51,000 projects and generating over 110,000 job opportunities. According to MSMEDA CEO Basel Rahmy, the funding included LE 102 million allocated to infrastructure, training programmes, and community development, resulting in 718,000 workdays across the governorate. The announcement came during a meeting with Alexandria Governor Ahmed Khaled to discuss strengthening industrial projects in areas such as Borg El Arab and Merghem. The agency also reviewed efforts to formalise unregistered businesses so they can benefit from new tax and regulatory incentives. These reforms include Law 6 of 2025, which introduced simplified tax rates starting at 0.4% of annual turnover, alongside exemptions from various duties to support MSME growth.
