He tells them: 'It was really nice to spend a bit of time with you guys earlier on.
'I've got a very big soft spot for you boys, you remind me a lot of what we were like.
'Don't let me down – boybands!'
Liam also seems to have quite a bit of faith in them, as he shares some tips on how to work crowds in stadiums should they ever get the same level of career as his One Direction did.
He tells them: 'When you're in a stadium you can see the front rows of people but everything else becomes one big crowd, so you're trying to move a section of the crowd, not just one person, so everything's got to be quite big.'
His gushing is reciprocated when one of the boyband members tells Liam: 'We all looked up to you boys so much and we want to be that next band.
'You guys kind of shied away from that Nineties boyband thing.'
Then he suddenly realises he's standing next to host AJ McLean, who famously sang with arguably the biggest boyband of the Nineties, Backstreet Boys.
Awkward.

There's a few more laughter lines and flashes of silver, but Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson are still looking just as good as they were back in their Dawson's Creek heyday.
The two actors, who played Joey and Pacey on the cult teen drama, were all smiles as they were reunited on the New York City set of their new film Happy Hour.
For five years from 1998, young viewers on both sides of the Atlantic were gripped by the intertwined romances among the strangely deep and mature adolescents that resided in the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts.
After the show ended, the cast went their different ways and had very different life experiences.
Katie married Tom Cruise, while Michelle Williams starred in Brokeback Mountain and started dating its star, the late Heath Ledger.
Meanwhile, Joshua has arguably enjoyed something of a later life renaissance in his career, starring in TV shows including The Affair and Doctor Odyssey.

It's normally delightful to see a mother teaching her child new skills, but in the case of one new Prime Video thriller, it's more spine-chilling.
This exclusive image from The Assassin shows Keeley Hawes, who plays a hitwoman, delivering a crash course in using a gun to her son, played by Freddie Highmore.
And anyone who sees the first, bloody three minutes of the show – which drops on Friday – will understand why it's probably for the best.

Troy Deeney reveals he became an Antiques Roadshow fan while serving time in prison

The Antiques Roadshow has an unlikely fan in former Premier League bad boy Troy Deeney.
The ex-Watford ace turned broadcaster says he got hooked on the long-running BBC series in the most unlikely of places – prison.
Deeney, who will soon be appearing in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, said watching the show helped him pass the time while he was serving three months for affray before he made it big in football.
He said: 'I was a little bit naughty at one point and basically when I was in jail, I had a lot of time watching Antiques Roadshow.
'I'd watch Antiques Roadshow and that one [Bargain Hunt] as well where they used to run round and buy things and then try to sell it.
'These couples had grafted all day and they'd got 90 quid and they're like 'Yes, we won'.
'It was a bit sad, but it got me through a lot of jail time.'
I doubt anyone would be brave enough to mock him.
Football play Dear England, which is being turned into a TV drama, will soon return to the stage with a national tour.
It will star former EastEnder Samantha Womack opposite David Sturzaker as Gareth Southgate. It kicks off on September 15 in Plymouth.

Netflix sequel of Happy Gilmore 2 had to be rewritten for one heartbreaking reason
Netflix is releasing Happy Gilmore 2 on Friday July 25, almost 30 years after the 1996 film graced screens, with most of the original cast set to return. Happy Gilmore 2 is set to be released on Netflix this weekend after nearly three decades since the first hit film came out in 1996. The highly anticipated comedy sequel, which premieres on Friday July 25, sees the return of unconventional golfer Happy, played by Adam Sandler, who comes out of retirement to fund his daughter Vienna's ballet school, who is portrayed by the actor's real life daughter, Sunny Sandler. While the original iconic cast are set to return including Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald and Ben Stiller, there will be one famous face missing. Carl Weathers, who famously played Chubbs Peterson, the mentor to Sandler's Gilmore, in the 1996 film passed away last year at 76-years-old. Sandler has revealed the sequel to Happy Gilmore had to be rewritten following the death of the Rocky and Predator star. Speaking to Collider, Sandler revealed that although Peterson died in the original film, he had planned to bring Weathers back for a significant role in the sequel film. Sandler said: 'We had a painful change. Carl Weathers had a massive part.' The 58-year-old former Saturday Night Live star continued: 'I would talk to Carl, and we were excited, and then Carl passed away. "We had to rewrite a lot of the stuff, and even what the story was. We made a lot of nice references to how great Chubbs was in the movie. That was the biggest change.' When asked what role Weathers' character would have played in the film, Sandler explained: 'In the first version that we came up with, he had a son. "He was coming back to me a lot in my dreams, and he had a son who was mad at Happy for causing the death of daddy.' Much of the original cast are returning for the new film. Modern Family star Julie Bowen revealed earlier this month that she hadn't expected to be asked to return. Bowen played Virginia Venit who is a rep for a professional golf tour and the protagonist's love interest. Speaking on the Inside of You podcast, Bowen revealed that she had assumed she'd be written out of the sequel. She said: 'I didn't think they'd bring me back at all. I mean, who am I supposed to be? "He's got to have a younger woman in this one, Happy Gilmore 2.' She added that while she expected to get less screen time, Sandler repeatedly told her not to downplay the importance of her role in the film. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! She said: 'Adam's like, 'Stop saying that. You're the heart of the movie'." Netflix announced last year that Sandler would be returning for his role as Gilmore, an ice hockey player with anger management problems who realises he can channel that anger into major pro golf wins. Newcomers Benny Safdie and Bad Bunny join the cast, along with a thrilling array of cameos and guest appearances from Travis Kelce, Margaret Qualley, Eminem and several professional golfers.

Brianna and Lochan smiled happily to the camera while standing in a kitchen, and as she held up a plate of food in the two photos. "2 worlds 🇬🇧🇺🇸 [Great Britain and United States] + 2 foodies and 1 recipe. Can you guess what me and your fav chef @lochan_nowacki cooked up while I was in London?' Brianna captioned the post. Fans of the pair rushed to the comments to speculate whether the pair were a couple or not. "If they are dating he'll be the luckiest guy coz bree is one of the most beautiful girls ever," wrote one person. "They look good together," commented another. But another person was not convinced, writing: "Where in the caption does it suggest they are dating? It just looks to me they partnered up to make a dish... or am I missing something?" Lochan himself described their meetup as a "collab" on his Instagram Stories and told fans to "keep ya eyes peeled" for the upcoming video of their cooking session. "Because my last relationship...." Whitney then trailed off before announcing she was "getting into it". She then explained that when he would "come over" he told her how much she had "changed". Whitney recalled how he said: "I've seen how much you've changed, and you're becoming like the woman that we always spoke about you becoming. "And I'm just not willing to do that." Josh, Whitney's friend who stood in for podcast co-host Lizzy, then said how he feels that some men "don't like seeing the other partner grow". Whitney then admitted: "I was bamboozled. This is the person that you told me you wanted." She then spoke to listeners and said how she hadn't "changed for a man" but instead changed how she spoke to him.
