"I Love You": Estranged Wife Hasin Jahan Writes To Mohammed Shami. Instagram Post Turns Out To Be A Rant
In an Instagram post on Friday, Hasin Jahan tagged Mohammed Shami, and used strong words like "greedy, mean-minded" against the cricketer. Following is the Instagram post that Hasin Jahan shared, that started with the line: "I love you so much jaanu." However, what followed was a rant.

Earlier, Hasin Jahan had called Shami a person with 'wrong mindset'.
"A person with a wrong mindset, who has crime in his mind, and who pushes his own family, wife and children towards trouble, and who was never anything and suddenly a lot happens, these people get arrogance and attitude. They develop such an attitude that they themselves do not know which path they are standing on, what they are doing and why they are doing it. Right now, he (Shami) is completely consumed by pride. The day that pride fades, he will remember his wife, his daughter, and all his wrongdoings. As of now, because of that arrogance, he has made no effort to contact me or our daughter. In fact, the last time he met our daughter was only because of Hon'ble Justice Tirthankar Ghosh's fear," said Hasin.
Jahan had moved the high court against a district sessions court's order directing the cricketer to pay Rs 50,000 to his wife and Rs 80,000 to her daughter in 2023.
"In my considered opinion, a sum of Rs 1,50,000 per month to the petitioner no.1 (wife) and Rs 2,50,000 to her daughter would be just fair and reasonable to ensure financial stability for both the petitioners, till disposal of the main application," the order passed by Justice Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee on Tuesday stated.
"However as regards petitioner's child the husband /opposite party No 2 will always be at liberty to voluntarily assist her with educational and/or other reasonable expenses, over and above the aforesaid amount," the order added.

Mumbai businessman accused in bank fraud and money laundering case denied bail
Mumbai: Observing that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) collected sufficient material to prima facie conclude that the applicant was actively involved in the offence of money laundering, a special PMLA court on Friday rejected the bail plea of businessman Vijay Gupta. He is accused in a Rs 764.44 crore fraud involving the State Bank of India (SBI). Gupta, founder of the Vindhyavasini Group of Companies, which operates in steel manufacturing, real estate development, and infrastructure services, remains in judicial custody. The ED strongly opposed the bail, submitting that Gupta is a "habitual economic offender" actively involved in money laundering. Given the gravity and seriousness of the offences, the court concluded that Gupta is not entitled to bail. While the defence claimed that the accused was in jail for over 12 months, the court noted that he was arrested in the money laundering case only in March this year. The court said that the period of custody in the predicate offence cannot be considered since the offence under section PMLA is a different and distinct offence. The ED's case stems from six FIRs registered by the CBI and EOW, Mumbai, against six companies of the Vindhyavasini Group. It is submitted that these companies, promoted and managed by Gupta, are accused of defrauding the SBI's Eastern Express Highway Branch in Thane of approximately Rs 764.44 crores. According to the ED, the accused used 57 shell entities and 117 bank accounts for the placement, integration, and layering of the proceeds of crime. The ED detailed a systematic scheme of fraud, including the submission of fabricated and inflated Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Technical Economic Viability (TEV) reports, and highly inflated valuation reports of mortgaged properties to secure maximum loan sanctions from SBI. It was further alleged that the accused colluded with Vishwas Kadam, a then relationship manager for Medium Enterprises (RMME) at SBI, Thane branch, and loan consultant Vijay Patil, to process and approve loans based on these forged documents. The ED claims Gupta paid a bribe of Rs 59 lakh to Vishwas Kadam. It was further submitted that there was a diversion of approximately Rs 164 crore from cash credit limit accounts of group companies to Gupta's personal accounts and shell entities owned by him and his brothers, Ajay Gupta and Sanjay Gupta. These funds were allegedly routed multiple times for unauthorised purposes. Allegations include the purchase of flats in Borivali and Kandivali using illicit funds, with one flat reportedly purchased in the name of his children's caretaker. It was also alleged that Gupta siphoned off a significant portion of Rs 13.20 crore received as compensation from NHAI for land acquisition, some of which was already mortgaged with SBI. Gupta's lawyer argued that he was falsely implicated and that the case was lodged with ulterior motives. It was also contended that the transactions are civil in nature, with recovery proceedings already initiated by SBI pending before civil courts. It was also submitted that sufficient collateral was provided to the bank, and the remaining dues of Rs 321 crores (out of a total loan of Rs 805 crores, with Rs 486 crores already recovered) could be covered by auctioning mortgaged properties, including the Solaris Building at Powai, valued at approximately Rs 400 crore in 2013. The defence highlighted Gupta's incarceration of over 12 months and the unlikelihood of a speedy trial given hundreds of witnesses and over fifty thousand pages of documentary evidence.

Ind vs Eng: Gill gets another hundred as India extend lead to 484 runs
Shubman Gill turned himself into a virtual 'Run Machine', smashing his third hundred in four innings to extend India's lead to a healthy 484 runs at tea on day four of the second Test against England in Birmingham on Saturday (July 5, 2025). Gill changed gears post the lunch break to push the scoring rate before completing his second hundred of the game at the stroke of tea. India added 127 runs from 30 overs in the session. He brought the rare milestone with a single off Bashir in the penultimate over before the tea break as India reached 304 for four in the second innings. Following his double in the first innings, the hundred celebrations were not over the top, signaling his focus on levelling the series. In the process, he also also surpassed the great Sunil Gavaskar to tally the most runs by an Indian in a Test match. Gavaskar had amassed 344 runs in one of the Tests against West Indies back in 1971 at Port of Spain. Gill shared a 110-run stand with Rishabh Pant (65 off 58) who exhibited breathtaking strokeplay and departed in a fitting fashion as he lost control of his bat in his attempt to whack Shoaib Bashir out of the park. If Gill was the attacked by English bowlers in the morning session, he took the onus upon himself to take the attack back to the opposition camp in the second one. Josh Tongue tried the short ball against Gill at the start of the session and Gill was happy to pull it over fine leg on two occasions. His knock included a flat batted boundary off Tongue while the Indian captain showed total disdain when Bashir was in operation. In the morning session, KL Rahul lost his middle stump to a beauty from Tongue before Pant made the morning session more entertaining with his inimitable strokeplay, leaving India at 177 for three at lunch. The 13-over old ball was expected to do a bit in cloudy conditions and it did for the England pacers especially Brydon Carse who bowled his heart out in the session. Rahul (55 off 84) played some majestic cover drives before being undone by a peach from Tongue that straightened from an angle to uproot the Indian batter's middle stump. Karun Nair (26 off 46) was the first wicket to fall on the day, a result of Carse's relentless pressure. Soon after being driven for four, Carse continued to lure Nair into a drive and was rewarded with an outside edge to the wicket-keeper. The tall bowler, who dismissed Nair with a snorter in the first innings, hit Nair's grille with a nasty bouncer, prompting a concussion check. Pant came out in the 30th over and went ballistic from the get go. He smashed Josh Tongue for a four and a six over mid-off to make his intentions clear before executing a falling pick up shot off Ben Stokes that went all the way. The crowd thoroughly enjoyed the battle between Pant and England bowlers. Towards the end of the session, Pant attempted a wild slog off Tongue but the bat slipped out his hands. Jamie Smith did well to collect the ball behind the stumps.
