In this episode of ETF Spotlight, I speak with Christian Magoon, Founder and CEO of Amplify ETFs, about some intriguing areas of the market that have attracted investors amid ongoing market volatility: cybersecurity, income, and Bitcoin.
The global market for cybersecurity products and services is expected to witness immense growth as more companies incorporate AI into their operations—while criminals are also leveraging AI technology to amplify and intensify cyberattacks.
While many companies may cut discretionary spending this year due to rising economic uncertainty, cybersecurity remains an area they cannot afford to ignore.
Google parent Alphabet GOOGL recently announced a deal to acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz for $32 billion. We could see an increase in M&A activity in the cybersecurity space.
Launched in 2014, HACK was the first cybersecurity ETF designed to provide cost-effective exposure to companies in the growing cybersecurity industry.
Income-hungry investors have been piling into ETFs that use options strategies to generate attractive yields. In addition to offering high income, these strategies typically help reduce portfolio volatility.
The Amplify CWP Enhanced Dividend Income ETF DIVO focuses on high-quality large-cap companies with a history of dividend growth and writes covered calls on individual stocks. Meta Platforms META and Apple AAPL are among its top holdings.
While DIVO has significantly outperformed the market leader—JPMorgan Equity Premium Income ETF JEPI—both have underperformed the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) over the long term on a total return basis. Who are the ideal users of these products?
The Amplify International Enhanced Dividend Income ETF IDVO follows the same strategy as DIVO but invests in international stocks.
Newly launched Amplify ETFs combine two of the hottest trends: Bitcoin and income. They employ a covered call strategy tied to Bitcoin price exposure through the iShares Bitcoin Trust IBIT.

Bitcoin could pull back with equities in the coming weeks, warns Piper Sandler
Bitcoin has notched new records this year as more investors embrace its digital gold narrative – but Piper Sandler warns the crypto is still vulnerable to stock market moves and could stumble in the coming weeks should tariff or rate related worries hit risk assets. "We recommend taking profits on stocks that have benefitted most from relief rally since early April," Michael Kantrowitz, Piper Sandler's chief investment strategist and head of portfolio strategy, said in a note Tuesday. "Markets have flipped from pricing in an inflationary recession on April 8th to a Goldilocks backdrop today. The stocks most at risk after this move are those higher beta, lower-quality names that have seen huge multiple expansion without any improvement in the earnings outlook." With bitcoin, he added, "there remains a very tight directional correlation [with] equity market risk … thus, if we do get a sell-off in risk on assets, for any macro risk that gets priced in, bitcoin would likely decline as well over the near term." The flagship cryptocurrency has been one of the top performing assets since the market low on April 9, returning 54% since then and hitting an all-time high as recently as last week . The gains have been fueled by institutional adoption via bitcoin ETFs as well as corporate treasury buying. The S & P 500 has gained half that amount in the same period. Bitcoin investors are no strangers to big drops, but the coin's maturity has noticeably led to reduced volatility this year, with many of its moves in reaction to broader risk sentiment being smaller than the big swings that made it famous. For example, on April 3, just after President Donald Trump introduced his sweeping tariffs, bitcoin fell 5% compared to the S & P's 4% decline. Still, the move shows bitcoin nevertheless tends to move in tandem with stocks in periods of broad macro fear and risk-off selling. Piper Sandler says there's little risk priced in for the Aug. 1 tariff deadline, but surprise to the upside could disrupt the current Goldilocks environment – economic conditions are neither too hot nor too cold – and the firm expects modestly higher consumer price index readings in the next three to four months. That "could complicate the current narrative that interest rates are moving lower in the near term," Kantrowitz said. August also tends to be a weak month for bitcoin and markets in general, given lower volume amid the summer lull. To be sure, the firm's recommendation that investors trim their riskiest positions is "more of a contrarian and tactical call for risk management rather than a bearish call on U.S. equities," Kantrowitz said. "While valuations are expensive, we expect earnings to continue to propel equities higher, albeit with less speculative leadership." —CNBC's Michael Bloom contributed reporting.

Top analyst predicts XRP could soar 430% in the near term
Top analyst predicts XRP could soar 430% in the near term originally appeared on TheStreet. XRP, the third-largest cryptocurrency, is among the best-performing digital assets this cycle, as it has soared around 80% over the span of a month. There are several factors behind XRP achieving such extraordinary momentum. There is, of course, the broader crypto market rally tied to the tailwind offered by Bitcoin's historic rally. Then, there are developments tied to Ripple, such as the banking license application and the launch of ProShares XRP futures exchange-traded fund (ETF). As per Kraken, XRP was trading at $3.51 at the time of writing, around 10% lower than its record high of $3.84 that it hit on Jan. 4, 2018. Join the discussion with CryptosRUs on Roundtable here. While most market analysts are hoping for the crypto asset to merely surpass its highest price, there is one analyst who can spot its value appreciating more than 400% soon enough. Ali Martinez, a crypto analyst who goes by the handle @ali_charts on X, shared XRP's price analysis chart on July 22. The analyst spotted XRP forming a symmetrical triangle pattern. Let's dig deeper into the technical analysis. The chart shows the upper and lower trendlines converge from late 2024 until July 2025, showing price consolidation. Next, Ali anticipates a price breakout, and since it is equal to the height of the triangle at its widest point, XRP is expected to hit $15 soon enough. Given its current price, the analyst is expecting XRP to soar around 430%. It's an extraordinary expectation. But then, the cryptocurrency has soared 470% over a year. Daily Stock Watch: Why investors are watching Trump Media, Alphabet, and Verizon
Trump Media shares rose premarket after gaining 3% on Monday. The company announced it had accumulated $2 billion in bitcoin and related assets. Verizon, Archer Aviation, Alphabet, and Opendoor also saw notable premarket moves. Trump Media, Verizon Communications, Archer Aviation, Alphabet, and Opendoor Technologies are on investors' minds. This is where they were trading premarket as of 7 a.m. ET Tuesday —and what's driving the moves. 1. Trump Media & Technology The move: The company that owns the social media platform Truth Social jumped almost 1.5% to $19.53 per share, after gaining 3% Monday. Why: The company announced that it had accumulated about $2 billion worth of bitcoin and related securities following the signing of President Donald Trump's crypto bill on Friday. 2. Verizon Communications The move: The stock was up about 0.4% to $42.68 a share, after rising 4% on Monday. Why: Before the bell Monday, the telecommunications giant reported second-quarter earnings that beat analysts' estimates and upgraded its profit forecast for the year. 3. Archer Aviation The move: The California-based company that develops electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft was down nearly 3% to $11.49 a share after falling almost 11% on Monday. Why: Its stock fell after a judge ruled that a lawsuit against the company can proceed. The lawsuit alleges that Archer Aviation, billionaire Ken Moelis, and others behind the merger deal that made Archer public misled shareholders about the value of shares. 4. Alphabet The move: Alphabet rose 0.4% to $191.90 per share after rising nearly 3% on Monday. Why: The company that owns Google saw a jump when several analysts raised their price targets ahead of it reporting its latest earnings results after the bell on Wednesday. Morgan Stanley cited a possible revenue boost driven by its generative AI efforts. 5. Opendoor Technologies The move: The real-estate company has continued to rise, up 14% to $3.66 a share after gaining 42% on Monday. Why: The surge came after a social media post by investor and Carvana spotter Eric Jackson, who said he expected a strong turnaround for Opendoor.
