Veteran actor Shivarajkumar backed Ramya, saying 'no woman should face this kind of a situation.' Shivarajkumar took to social media to voice out his opinion. 'Words used against Ramya on social media are condemnable,' he said.
'We must learn to respect women. Social media is a powerful tool. We must use it responsibly. We must not spread hate and jealousy through social media. Ramya is fighting for something meaningful and I stand by her,' wrote Shivarajkumar.

Ramya had said that it's high time women spoke about harassment faced on social media. 'The disgruntled fans of actor Darshan have sent scandalous, ghastly and obnoxious messages to my Instagram handle through various accounts. The messages sent to me are so disgusting and misogynistic that I am unable to even reproduce the same in the complaint,' Ramya had said in her complaint.

The accused has been identified as Shajeer, a lorry driver from Cherpulassery in Palakkad district. The video, posted as an Instagram Story from the account 'Shajeer_Tool', first showed the cat being fed. What followed was far more horrifying as another clip showing the cat's head and body parts separated was uploaded. As the footage circulated on social media, users flagged it to the police. Cherpulassery police have launched a probe and are verifying the authenticity of the video. Preliminary findings suggest Shajeer is currently in Tamil Nadu. The police are trying to trace his exact location. According to Kerala Kaumudi, when questioned informally about the act, Shajeer allegedly said, 'Cat meat tastes better than human meat." Authorities are still trying to establish where the video was filmed. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation.
