Fortnite servers face extended downtime following v36.20 update rollout

Epic Games' popular battle royale title Fortnite faced extended server downtime following the scheduled rollout of its v36.20 update, with thousands of players across the globe reporting connectivity issues. In a post on its official Fortnite Status account on X early Monday, the company announced, 'Built for battle. Driven by justice. Downtime for v36.20 begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking ending shortly beforehand.' While the downtime was expected to be routine, it quickly became clear that players were encountering more severe issues than anticipated. Shortly after the update began rolling out, Fortnite Status acknowledged that users were experiencing matchmaking difficulties. 'We're aware that players may be experiencing issues when trying to matchmake in Fortnite. We're working on a fix and will update this thread once this has been resolved,' the team posted. By Tuesday evening around 7:30 PM IST (10:00 AM ET), Epic Games confirmed that the downtime had to be extended due to an unexpected issue discovered during offline testing. 'Hey everyone, we're extending downtime while we work to resolve an issue discovered during offline checks. We'll do our best to get Fortnite servers online ASAP. Keep an eye on this thread for any future updates,' the account stated. The outage has sparked widespread frustration among the game's player base. According to outage monitoring site Downdetector, more than 800 users in the United States alone had reported problems with the game by 7:51 PM IST (10:21 AM ET) on Tuesday. A significant 80 per cent of those affected cited server connection issues, while 12 per cent struggled with logging in and seven per cent faced gameplay disruptions. As of now, Epic Games has not provided a definitive timeline for when the servers will be back online for everyone. Players have been advised to monitor the Fortnite Status account for real-time updates as the company continues working towards a resolution.

Fortnite x MCU collaboration all leaks explored

Image via Epic Games. After a blockbuster collaboration with DC, Fortnite is now potentially gearing up for an exciting collab with MCU. Just like the DC collab focused on the recently released Superman movie by James Gunn, the upcoming Fantastic Four: The First Step is going to be the center of attraction in this probable Fortnite X MCU collaboration. Fans are already loving the Superman collab, which introduced a themed outfit along with other accessories. However, the main highlight is the Superman mythic item, with which players can actually become the popular superhero in the game. Upcoming potential Fortnite X MCU collaboration gets leaked Recently, popular Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has shared a Tweet that the game is soon going to collaborate with the upcoming MCU movie, Fantastic Four: The First Step. According to Shiina, this claim comes from two encrypted sets of in-game files added through today's patch v36.20 update . These two in-game files are reported to contain the cosmetics of Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and Human Torch. As Fortnite has become a popular way of marketing high-budget films, this potential collaboration was already seen coming with the prominent release of Fantastic Four: The First Step on July 25 in theatres. The exact release date of this highly anticipated collaboration isn't yet revealed, but the previous Superman collab was launched coinciding with the actual release of the Superman movie. But nothing has been confirmed by Epic Games yet, so, all these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. It was also quite surprising not to see the name of The Thing in the post of the leaker. The Thing is an equally important part of the Fantastic Four. Hence, we might see another patch update in the coming days where The Thing might get his own outfit and cosmetics in the game. As the current season in the game, Chapter 6 Season 3, is based on superheroes, it was already known that Fortnite was not going to stop with Superman collaboration only. That is why a potential Fantastic Four collaboration is on its way. Read More: Superman Mythic Fortnite: Release date and more Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!
