Box Office: Sitaare Zameen Par continues with healthy trend; Aamir Khan starrer collects Rs 155 crore in 24 days

Pink Villaa day ago
The Aamir Khan-led Sitaare Zameen Par is continuing with its healthy run at the box office in India, as the film has collected Rs 5.75 crore in its fourth weekend, taking the total nett collections to Rs 155 crore. The social dramedy scored Rs 1.00 crore on 4th Friday, followed by a jump to Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 2.50 crore respectively on 4th Saturday and 4th Sunday. The RS Prassana directorial is continuing to get numbers in the urban markets, and is now nearing te end of its run.
The lifetime collections of Sitaare Zameen Par could now fall in the range of Rs 165 crore to Rs 170 crore, which is more or less in the same range as Raid 2 and Housefull 5. One must note that, given the controlled budget and a good theatrical trend, Sitaare Zameen Par has emerged a hit venture at the box office.
The verdict is largely driven by the weekend-to-weekend trajectory of this Aamir Khan starrer, as the film is getting patronage from the family audience on every Saturday and Sunday since its release. The box office is in a much better shape now as mid-range films have started to do well, and cinema is no longer a medium for just the tentpole spectacles.
A finish in the north of Rs 200 crore would have been sweeter for Sitaare Zameen Par, but the drop on the first Monday had more or less put curtains on the dreams of a double century in India. Nonetheless, this is a good result for the Aamir Khan starrer, and a much-needed HIT for the actor, bringing him back in the business.
Sitaare Zameen Par Day Wise Box Office Collection
Week One: Rs 87.50 crore
Week Two: Rs 44.50 crore
Week Three: Rs 17.25 crore
4th Friday: Rs 1.00 crore
4th Saturday: Rs 2.25 crore
4th Sunday: Rs 2.50 crore
Total: Rs 155 crore

Ramayana budget is Rs 4000 crore: Namit Malhotra calls Ranbir Kapoor, Yash starrer 'Greatest epic'

Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is making buzz for its grandeur, scale, exceptional star cast, and massive production budget. Contrary to all the speculations about its budget, Producer Namit Malhotra has broken his silence and revealed how much he is investing in it. In a recent podcast with Prakhar Gupta, Namit Malhotra talked about how Ramayana is his lifetime project. When he was quizzed about its production cost, he revealed it to be more than Rs 4000 crores for both the installments together. The producer said, 'Budget-wise, it was like…everybody thought I'm a lunatic because no Indian film by a long distance comes close to it. To put it simply, it will be like 500 million dollars by the time we are done on both films put together- Part One and Part Two, which is over Rs 4000 crores.' Namit went on to add, 'I say it like we are making the largest film in the world for the greatest story, the greatest epic that the world should see.' He further expressed that he still believes that he is producing a big movie at a cheap cost, when compared to Hollywood movies. 'And I still think it's cheaper than some of the big Hollywood films. So I think we're making a bigger film at a lower cost. For me, it's not a money-driven thing, honestly,' added Namit Malhotra. About Ramayana Cast and Crew For the unversed, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic spectacle that stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, and many other incredibly talented actors. The movie is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who previously helmed Dangal and Chhichhore. The background score of Ramayana is composed by music legends Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The makers are in talks with a Hollywood studio to distribute the movie across the world.

Ranbir Kapoor-Yash starrer Ramayana to be India's costliest film ever at Rs 4000 crore, says producer Namit Malhotra: ‘We're funding it ourselves'

Producer Namit Malhotra is set to rewrite the rules of Indian cinema with his upcoming magnum opus Ramayana , a two-part epic starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and featuring a stellar cast including Yash , Amitabh Bachchan, Sai Pallavi , and Sunny Deol . What's grabbing global attention, however, is the jaw-dropping budget: $500 million or approximately Rs 4000 crore, making it the most expensive Indian film ever made. 'We're not taking anybody's money' In a recent conversation with Prakhar Gupta, Namit Malhotra, the CEO of Prime Focus and the force behind several Hollywood blockbusters like Inception, Interstellar, and Dune, opened up about the ambitious scale of Ramayana and why it's a personal mission. 'We're funding it ourselves. We're not taking anybody's money,' Malhotra asserted. 'People thought I was crazy when we started six-seven years ago, just after the pandemic. No Indian film had come close to this kind of budget.' He estimates that by the time both parts are completed, the production cost will be around $500 million, a figure that rivals, if not undercuts, some of the biggest Hollywood tentpole movies. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like [국가인증] 키성장 인증받은 '이 제품' 2개월치 무료증정 이벤트 곧 마감! 아이클타임 더 알아보기 Undo 'We are making the largest film in the world for the greatest story, the greatest epic that the world should see. A childhood dream born from Jurassic Park Malhotra traced the origin of his vision to a childhood encounter with Jurassic Park, a film that opened his imagination to the possibilities of building believable fictional worlds. Though he never became a director, he built a global post-production and visual effects powerhouse with Prime Focus, contributing to several Oscar-winning projects. But there was one lingering frustration: the lack of global respect for Indian cinema. Sunny Deol to Play 'Lord Hanuman' in 'Ramayana'| Gets '15 Minutes of High-Octane Screen Time' 'All the films they saw us as were victims and we were poor and always less fortunate and treated poorly by the world. And I was like, no, that's not who we are. That's not the country I come from,' he said. This disconnect became the driving force behind Ramayana. Malhotra aims to present India's spiritual and cultural heritage to the world through the story he calls 'the greatest epic of all time.' Diwali 2026: The beginning of something epic With Ramayana Part 1 slated to release on Diwali next year, anticipation is at fever pitch. Helmed by acclaimed director Nitesh Tiwari (Dangal, Chhichhore), the film is expected to combine high-end VFX, emotional storytelling, and unparalleled scale, marking a new chapter in Indian cinematic history. If Malhotra's vision delivers, Ramayana could not only set box office records but also redefine how Indian mythology is presented to a global audience.
