Police officers get the scoop when they pop into popular ice-cream parlour
Milk Maids on Manchester Road also serves as a farm shop - selling locally sourced produce as well as coffee and sweet treats.
The shop is based at Dearden's Farm in Over Hulton and has remained in the hands of the Partington family since 1955.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) met the staff and discussed issues affecting the area.
They said that they will continue to jobs" target="_blank">work with Milk Maids and the rest of the community.

A spokesperson for GMP Bolton said: "Today local Neighbourhood Officers met with Milk Maids on Manchester Road to discuss the driving standards in the area, a clear priority for the Hulton community.
"Work will continue in partnership with Milk Maids to ensure drivers are parking and driving correctly so residents and customers can safely enjoy their days and their ice cream!"

The multi-award winning store is currently run by Fiona Partington and her sister, Rebecca Partington, alongside a close-knit team of 10, as well as her parents Anne-Marie and Michael.
The farm was initially taken over by Patricia and John Partington in 1955 before being turned into a parlour and tea shop.
The store even sources their coffee beans as locally as possible, selling a Bolton coffee brand called Oddy Knocky, which roasts the beans locally.

A pensioner was left devastated after her precious jewellery was stolen by a man who had come to fit a disability aid in her house. Gabor-Tamas Szilaygi, 36, visited the 86-year-old's home in Blackburn to fit a hoist for her bed on November 5, 2024. But after completing the job, the woman checked her bedroom and noticed her gold and diamond watch was missing from her bedside drawer, along with her wedding ring and a gold and emerald ring, LancsLive reports. She went back to the front door and saw Szilaygi driving away in his van. She called the police and reported the theft, Preston Crown Court heard. He told them the items they were looking for were in a compartment in the dashboard, and officers found the stolen jewellery - valued at £10,000. However he said he felt too guilty to pawn the items but too ashamed to return them to the owner. In a victim impact statement, the widow said: "He took advantage of my trust and my physical limitations to steal jewellery my late husband gave me. These items have a deeply personal meaning and losing them has shattered my heart. "He has not only stolen my valuables but tarnished my precious memories." She said she now feels anxious in her own home and has had to install security cameras. She added: "His actions have robbed me of my independence, my peace of mind and my emotional health. He has left me fearful, anxious, scared stressed and isolated in a way that will affect me for the rest of my life." Szilaygi, of Carlinghurst Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to theft and said he was deeply ashamed of what he had done. He said it was a spur of the moment decision to take the jewellery and one he regretted immediately. The court heard he has no previous convictions and has contributed to his life in the UK paying taxes and working to support his family. You gained access to her property and in breach of the trust placed in you, you stole items of great sentimental value." However he said he considered there is a real prospect of rehabilitation as the defendant is a man of previous good character. He said an immediate prison sentence would impact his partner and two-month-old baby. Recorder Slack handed down a sentence of two years suspended for two years with 20 days rehabilitation activities and 250 hours of unpaid work. He also ordered him to pay £150 costs and a victim surcharge. The jewellery has been returned to its owner.

Amazon delivery driver dies after train hits van at level crossing
An Amazon delivery driver has died after their van was hit by a train at a level crossing in Kent. British Transport Police said it was called to the railway line in Tonge, near Sittingbourne, shortly after 12.45pm on Sunday following reports of a train striking a van. Local police, ambulance and fire and rescue services also attended, but the person died at the scene. Footage shared on social media appeared to show a large fire producing black smoke in a rural area lined with trees, while other images showed helicopters landing on fields next to the railway line. Southeastern Railway, which runs services on the line, said no services were running between Gillingham and Faversham as major disruption was expected until the end of the day. No one else was injured in the incident. An Amazon spokesperson said in a statement: 'This is a terrible incident and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the delivery driver's family and loved ones during this difficult time. 'We will work with police and the delivery service provider as they investigate.' It is understood the victim was delivering Amazon parcels when the incident happened. Police appeal as man, 25, dies in three car crash
A 25-year-old man has died in a crash involving three cars in East Sussex. The crash, between a dark grey Audi, a white Renault Clio and a white Fiat Panda, happened on Piddinghoe Road, in Lewes, at about 23:45BST on Friday, Sussex Police said. The drivers of the two other vehicles involved were also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
