Abderrahim Bioui denies links to «Escobar of the Sahara» and drug trafficking
According to the newspaper, Bioui also disputed statements made by the Malian suspect to the judicial police, insisting that he had never traveled with his brother and did not know the individuals implicated in the case. He further claimed that his business—his primary source of income—had suffered a 35% loss since his detention.
Regarding Saïd Naciri, the former president of Wydad Casablanca, who is also detained in this case, Bioui stated that he had met him only once and was unaware of his identity, explaining that he had no interest in sports.
When questioned about five trucks allegedly provided to him by the Malian suspect, Bioui clarified that an analysis of their GPS data by the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) showed they had not moved since 2017. He also presented their registration documents to prove their origin, refuting claims that they were of Chinese manufacture.
The court also addressed the seizure of a truck carrying 40 tons of cannabis resin. Bioui denied any knowledge of it, asserting that his vehicles were used exclusively for quarry operations. He further explained that metal recovered from dismantled machinery was sold by weight to prevent any fraudulent use.
As for the origin of the funds in his possession, he stated that they came from his agricultural and mining activities, citing revenues of 100 million dirhams from agriculture and 20 million from livestock, in addition to profits from his quarries. He maintained that he had all the necessary documents to prove the legality of his assets, prompting the Prosecutor's Office to request their verification, Assabah concludes.

Police in Agadir Arrest Two Wanted British Nationals
Rabat – Security services in Agadir arrested on Saturday two British nationals, subject to arrest warrants issued by the UK. The arrest took place based on precise intelligence from the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a security source said. The first suspect is allegedly involved in a case of voluntary manslaughter, while the second was subject to an international wanted notice through a red notice issued by the UK. He was wanted for charges related to failure to appear in court and violations of parole conditions. The suspects are in custody as part of extradition proceedings. Police informed security authorities of the arrests to ensure the necessary extradition procedures. Morocco is a key stakeholder in the Interpol as the country has helped many countries to arrest suspects subject to arrest warrants. Earlier this month, Morocco's police arrested a French national of Malian origin on an international warrant issued by French judicial authorities. In May, Interpol President Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi commended Morocco's security efforts, describing the country's security system as advanced, efficient, professional, and committed to respecting human rights. Al Raisi also commended King Mohammed VI's efforts and determination to consistently give special care and attention to bolstering security efforts locally and on regional and international levels For the Interpol chief, Morocco has played a 'key role in supporting numerous global security projects and initiatives,' adding that the country contributed to strengthening international security cooperation mechanisms. The North African country has been playing a significant role in the fight against migrant smuggling networks, human trafficking, drug trafficking, terrorism, and organized crime, he added. Morocco Arrests Arab National at Mohammed V Airport on UAE Warrant
Marrakech – Moroccan security services at Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport arrested a 42-year-old Arab national on Thursday following an international arrest warrant issued by judicial authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The police detained the suspect immediately upon arrival on a flight from Turkey. According to security sources, identity verification revealed he was wanted internationally at the request of Emirati judicial authorities for implementing a prison sentence issued in absentia in December 2019. The individual is implicated in a case involving breach of trust and embezzlement of funds belonging to others. He has been subjected to legal procedures related to extradition pending presentation before the competent prosecutor's office. The Arab Liaison Division of the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has been tasked with notifying their counterpart in the UAE about the arrest. Security sources indicated that this arrest comes within the framework of Moroccan security services' ongoing commitment to strengthening international security cooperation, particularly in tracking and arresting individuals wanted for transnational crimes. The case reflects Morocco's active participation in global law enforcement networks. Through rigorous identity checks at key entry points, Moroccan authorities continue to enforce international arrest warrants effectively across national boundaries. On June 14, Marrakech police arrested a French-Malian national wanted by Interpol for international drug trafficking and money laundering. On May 14, Moroccan police arrested a 68-year-old Swedish citizen of Turkish origin at Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport. The suspect, who arrived on a flight from Turkey, was wanted on an international warrant for violent sexual assaults committed in 2021. On April 17, authorities apprehended three individuals of Chinese, Ukrainian, and Lithuanian nationalities. The suspects, aged between 22 and 25, were subject to international arrest warrants issued by American judicial authorities for drug trafficking and money laundering.

Six Moroccan drivers arrested in Mali following truck accident
Following reports circulating on social media about the arrest of Moroccan drivers in Mali, an official source at the Moroccan embassy in Bamako has confirmed the incident and provided further details. On June 22, the embassy was informed through its own channels about the detention of six Moroccan drivers and their assistants, a total of 12 people, by the gendarmerie in the town of Diéma, approximately 350 kilometers from Bamako. They were traveling in six trucks. Upon receiving this information, the embassy contacted the Malian Ministry of Security, which sent an official to the site to assess the situation. At the same time, the embassy held discussions with Moroccan drivers currently in Mali to gather more information. According to the details collected, the arrests followed a serious accident in the nearby locality of Béma, 67 km from Diéma. One of the trucks was involved in the accident, which left a 5-year-old child permanently disabled. Following the embassy's intervention and preliminary investigation, five drivers were released and permitted to leave Malian territory for Mauritania. However, the sixth driver, identified as M.A., and his assistant remained in custody as the investigation continued. On June 24, 2025, the Malian prosecutor's office ordered their release, returning their passports and the truck's documents. The truck, however, was sealed as a precautionary measure. The trial is scheduled for September 30, 2025. Local authorities informed the two Moroccan nationals they were free to leave Mali, provided the vehicle remains immobilized until the hearing. The Moroccan embassy in Bamako continues to maintain close contact with the driver involved to provide all necessary assistance and is also coordinating with the truck's owner to explore legal options for resolving the case.
