Khloe Kardashian announces 'The Kardashians' spinoff on Hulu; 'Calabasas Behind the Gates'
Khloé Kardashian has officially announced a brand-new reality spinoff series titled Calabasas Behind the Gates on Hulu.
Speaking at Hulu's inaugural Get Real House event on Tuesday 22 April, Khloé appeared alongside Scott Disick to tease the upcoming show.
'It's very exciting, very new, very excellent,' she said. 'We're excited to continue developing.'
The new series will focus not on the core Kardashian-Jenner family, but on the friends, neighbours and inner circle surrounding them.
Rob Mills, executive vice president at Disney, Hulu's parent company, also offered more details, saying, 'We all want to know what's happening behind the gates of Calabasas—who are all these people in the extended lives of the Kardashians? So, we're developing a show that we're actually, at least for now, calling Calabasas Behind the Gates.'
Khloé, 40, who shares daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 2, with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, did not confirm whether any of her famous family members would appear on the new show.
Disick, 41, who shares three children with Khloé's sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker, also stayed quiet on his potential involvement.
However, Khloé did express hopes that her brother Rob Kardashian might return to screens. 'I really do,' she said. 'I always have my faith and confidence in Rob.'
The 38-year-old, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight, recently made a rare appearance in Kim Kardashian's Easter family photo roundup.
During the event, Khloé also shared that her family receive equal pay across their reality shows, and retain creative control over what is shown in each episode.
No official release date has been set for Calabasas Behind the Gates, but excitement for the project is already building.

Lindsay Lohan comes full circle with ‘Freakier Friday'
LONDON: Lindsay Lohan says she drew upon her own experiences of motherhood for 'Freakier Friday', the highly-anticipated sequel to her hit 2003 movie 'Freaky Friday'. Lohan, 39, welcomed her first child in 2023, a year before the Disney movie was filmed. 'It felt full circle for me, and also the timing was pretty impeccable considering that I'm a new mom and I was able to bring being a mom into the character,' Lohan said at the film's London premiere on Thursday. 'It's the first time I'm able to do that on screen.' 'Freaky Friday', with a reported budget of $26 million, was a surprise hit, making over $160 million worldwide and obtaining a cult following. The 2025 follow-up sees Lohan and actress Jamie Lee Curtis reprising the roles of mother and daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman. Twenty years on, Anna is a single parent to tomboy teen daughter Harper, played by Julia Butters. Their relationship comes under stress when Anna falls for Eric (Manny Jacinto), the father of Harper's new British classmate Lily (Sophia Hammons), and they decide to get married. The future stepsisters, with a mutual dislike for one another, decide to intervene. While the 2003 film saw a body swap between Tess and Anna, things get 'freakier' this time around with Tess and Anna switching bodies with Lily and Harper. Before signing on to the sequel, Lohan ensured that Anna returned as a multi-faceted and relatable character. 'It was important to me that we explained who Anna is today and how she's evolved and the dynamic between her and her daughter as she's a single working mom. There are some basic points that I wanted to get across because I want people to see the movie and find a piece of it that they can grab onto and be like, 'okay, I get that',' she said. Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the movie also sees actor Chad Michael Murray reprising the role of young Anna's love interest, Jake. Shooting the sequel was a 'lovefest', said Murray. 'It was the same, but better. It felt very much like connective tissue to the first movie. Everyone loved going to work and no one wanted to go home.' 'Freakier Friday' marks Lohan's big screen return. 'It's obviously nerve-wracking because you want it to be great and you want people to love what you do,' she said. 'As long as people are enjoying what I'm doing and it's making them happy, then I feel like I'm doing my job and that's what I'm here to do.' 'Freakier Friday' begins its global cinematic rollout on August 6.

Meryl Streep draws crowds in heatwave as fans wait hours to see The Devil Wears Prada 2 set in New York
Fans congregated along midtown Manhattan, enduring temperatures near 100 °F, in hopes of catching a glimpse of Meryl Streep and her Devil Wears Prada 2 co-stars filming inside a Dior store. The location was secured as the setting for a scene, with windowpanes covered by crumpled brown paper to shield the interior. Approximately 60 people stood in the shade across the street, phones at the ready in expectation of spotting the legendary actress. The filming took place across a busy six-lane section of 57th Street, with taxis and cyclists passing between viewers and the closed storefront. One onlooker, Diana Nassar, paused during her workday at Prime Video to photograph the scene. She had been tracking the production on Instagram and was redirected to the shoot location by a crew member who provided the schedule and water to ease her wait. 'I just want to see something in action,' Nassar said, reflecting the sentiment of many who had gathered. Among them were Alison Stewart and her sister Sarah McManus, British tourists who had planned a U.S. film location tour. They learned the shoot coincided with their New York stop, and arrived by late morning, hoping to witness at least one take before their evening flight. Stewart recounted spotting Streep exiting a car: 'It was exciting.' Meanwhile, New York software engineer Amal Matmati said she braved the heat to admire the cast's fashion and costumes. Paparazzi had already captured images of Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt in stylish new looks ahead of the film's release. Matmati added, 'It's out of context... it makes me more excited to see the movie.' While Disney's 20th Century has not publicly announced upcoming shoot locations, production notice postings bearing the word 'cerulean' hinted at the film's connection to the original's iconic reference. For many spectators, the real-time fashion tableau on set only deepened anticipation for what the sequel may bring.

Jenna Ortega rocks bleached eyebrows at 'Wednesday' Season 2 premiere in London
Jenna Ortega unveiled a striking new look at the London premiere of Wednesday season two on July 30. The 22-year-old actress arrived on the red carpet with bleached eyebrows that matched her sheer, snakeskin-inspired dress by Ashi Studio, giving the illusion of having no eyebrows at all. Standing beside her co-stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, and Emma Myers, Ortega completed the look with a maroon lip and her signature dark hair styled into a relaxed ponytail. Her eyebrow transformation immediately drew attention, adding a Gothic edge to her already unconventional red carpet presence. The new appearance aligns with her ongoing efforts to reflect the eerie tone of Wednesday, where she plays the iconic Addams family character. 'I definitely feel like I have a bit more Gothic taste than I did when I was a teenager,' Ortega told Harper's Bazaar in May. 'I've always been into dark things or been fascinated by them, but I was a Disney kid, and the whole thing is being bubbly and kind and overly sweet.' Reflecting on the challenges of portraying a teenage character while in her twenties, Ortega added, 'It's like how you're dressed in the schoolgirl costume. There's just something about it that's very patronising.'
