Two-time US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau was in attendance for this Thursday's executive order ceremony regarding the Presidential Fitness Test.
It was announced this week that President Donald Trump would bring back the fitness test that was originally created in 1966. The Obama administration "moved away from recognizing athletic performance to providing a barometer on student's health" in 2012. The goal was to focus on the individual's fitness journey instead of making middle and high school students feel like they're in a competition with each other.
By bringing back this fitness test, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump "wants to ensure America's future generations are strong, healthy, and successful."
In an effort to promote this new initiative, Trump has created the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. It turns out DeChambeau has joined that group along with NFL kicker Harrison Butker and WWE legend Triple H.
"I want to get kids excited about pushing themselves," DeChambeau said, via GolfMagic. "We believe we can change the fabric of our communities and kids' livelihoods for the future generations that are to come. I can't thank you enough and looking forward to making massive changes in kids lives and America's future."
After DeChambeau announced that he's joining the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, countless fans shared their thoughts on social media.
As of this moment, it's fair to say golf fans are torn on DeChambeau's alliance with President Trump.
"Great job Bryson," one fan said. "This is such an important issue. Healthier kids should be a priority for everyone."
"Bryson always going beyond what's expected of him. Love this dude," a second fan wrote.
"Does Bryson not care about Trump's behavior," one person argued.
"Bryson is a MAGA/Trump supporter. He will make the Ryder Cup an actual embarrassment for America. It will be ugly and all about Trump," another person declared.
DeChambeau and Trump have spent time together before. In fact, they tried to break 50 nearly a year ago at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.
We'll see if this duo can help promote active lifestyles for American schoolchildren.Bryson DeChambeau Joins President Trump's Council - And Fans Are Not Happy first appeared on The Spun on Jul 31, 2025

Dan Quinn on Micah Parsons: 'I'll be connected with him for life'

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has made no secret his love for Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn was in his first season as the defensive coordinator for the Cowboys when Dallas selected Parsons with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. It was Quinn who realized that Parsons would be best employed as an edge defender, and Parsons quickly proved him correct. As a rookie, Parsons finished with 13 sacks and 20 tackles for loss, won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award, and was named first-team All-Pro. In 2022, Parsons was again named first-team All-Pro and was second-team All-Pro in 2023. After the 2023 season, Quinn departed to become the head coach of one of Dallas' primary levels. Parsons spoke of his appreciation for Quinn every chance he got. Well, in case you haven't heard, Parsons requested a trade from the Cowboys on Friday. He and the team are at odds over a new contract, as Parsons felt Dallas misled him. Owner/GM Jerry Jones has stated he will not trade Parsons, and the goal remains to sign him to a long-term deal. This weekend, Bleacher Report was in Ashburn for a training camp practice, and, of course, Quinn was asked about Parsons. "Yeah, I loved coaching him, I really did, and I'll be connected with him for life," Quinn said. "He had the versatility to do different things, so he challenged me as a coach. What if we line him up here? What if I put him here? And sometimes I would be like, 'That didn't look so good.' Another time, 'We got something.' So he pushed me as a coach to think differently, and it allowed us to be more versatile. I had an absolute blast coaching him." Quinn has to be careful in discussing Parsons, but his affinity for his former player is apparent. Parsons revealed last season that he and Quinn still communicate. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing. Quinn would do anything to acquire Parsons, but do you think that Jerry Jones would trade Parsons to Washington? First, the Cowboys aren't trading their best player. Secondly, if they did, it would not be to Washington, Philadelphia, or the New York Giants. Steelers release 2 injured players from roster with injury settlements

On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers released a pair of injured players from their training camp roster with injury settlements. The Steelers had placed wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig and outside linebacker Jeremiah Moon on the Reserve/Injured list but now they will be free to rehab and then sign with another team. Moon was part of the Steelers outside linebacker rotation last season as the team's No. 4. Moon was active for 13 games in 2024 and even got one start, although he failed to register a sack. Moon was a longshot to make the final 53-man roster after the Steelers selected former Ohio State edge rusher Jack Sawyer in the 2025 NFL draft. Lemonious-Craig was added as an undrafted free agent this offseason. He played his college football at the University of Arizona but he was never able to have a significant impact on the Wildcats passing game despite excellent size and athleticism. Pittsburgh has a full wide receiver depth chart despite lacking a true No. 2 wide receiver to go along with DK Metcalf. Guardians Cy Young Award winner linked to Cubs in trade proposal

Shane Bieber hasn't thrown a major league pitch since the spring of 2024, but the award-winning righty still has some draft stock in him, it seems. The Chicago Cubs, though they're currently neck-and-neck with the Milwaukee Brewers for the lead in the National League Central, have a serious need of starting pitching on their team, though the offense is doing stellar thanks to the breakout of NL MVP candidate Pete Crow-Armstrong. But according to Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report, the Cubbies could be in line to land the 2020 AL Cy Young Award winner as he continues to recover from his surgery. In Reuter's article laying out one move for each MLB team to make before the 2025 MLB deadline, he labeled the Cubs making a trade with Cleveland to give them their ace in exchange for Chicago's No. 5 prospect Jonathon Long. Reuter calls back to last year when the Guardians pulled this kind of move at the trade deadline to pick up a then-rehabbing Alex Cobb, who ended up starting for the team as they advanced to the postseason and made it to the ALCS before losing to the New York Yankees. Cleveland and Bieber agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract this past offseason, and is still on his way back to the pros, striking out 14 batters in 7.1 innings over his first three rehab starts, clearly still showing signs of the Bieber of old. The Cubs still have just over 24 hours to make this move, assuming they want it that badly.
