#SHOWBIZ: Aliff Aziz on Bella Astillah: I'm happy to see her move forward
In an interview with Singapore's Berita Minggu, Aliff reacted positively to the social media buzz surrounding Bella's relationship with Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, often linked to the hashtag #BASS.
"If their happiness lies there, I am content and wish them both the very best," Aliff said, emphasising that his primary concern remains the well-being of his two children, Ayden Adrean, 8, and Ara Adreanna, 5.
"Ayden and Ara are surrounded by people who love them, God willing. That's my first thought.
"Whoever is around them, as long as they are loved and treated well... That's enough."
As a father, Aliff said he feels no jealousy when he sees his children happy.
Despite his contentment with their happiness, Aliff, the former champion of Gegar Vaganza Season 8 (GV8), admitted his deep longing for his children, having lost contact with them since 2024.
He revealed that he hasn't had the opportunity to meet or communicate directly with them, finding it difficult to watch their video recordings without becoming tearful.
Even from afar, Aliff follows his children's progress, especially around their birthdays — July 8 for Ayden and July 18 for Ara.
"I miss them so much. My prayer every day is to be able to see them again and convey everything I hold in my heart," he said.
"Daddy always remembers and prays for Ayden and Ara... I love you so much and I miss you."
Aliff hopes fate will reunite them, allowing him to explain many things.
On Feb 21, Aliff and Malaysian actress Ruhainies were fined RM3,000 by the Federal Territories Syariah High Court after pleading guilty to a khalwat charge.
This followed reports in March 2024 of a married artiste and actress being caught in close proximity at a luxury condominium.
Bella and Aliff, who married in 2016, divorced with a single talaq on June 13, 2024.
Aliff openly admitted his guilt over not being present for important moments in his children's lives.
He also worries about how society's mixed perceptions of him might affect them.
Facing a dilemma, he often debates whether to remain silent to protect his family or take legal action, which could escalate tensions.
His current focus, Aliff emphasised, is no longer on external matters or current sensations.
Instead, he's dedicating his energy to his recovery process and getting back on his feet.
He expressed appreciation for his mother's unwavering support, acknowledging the toll his issues have taken on his family.
Determined to rise, he aims to become someone they can be proud of again.
Aliff also touched on the pressure from media narratives and public perceptions, admitting there are times he feels compelled to speak up but refrains to protect his children and family.
"Sometimes I want to tell you everything. But when I think about the impact on my children and family, I end up feeling completely in the wrong," he said.

#SHOWBIZ: Alif Satar: Bullying destroys one's future forever
KUALA LUMPUR: Popular Malaysian singer, actor, and television host Alif Satar has expressed his shock and sorrow over the recent death of a schoolgirl, allegedly due to bullying at a boarding school. Alif, 35, emphasised that the culture of bullying among students is not something to be proud of, but rather "a heinous crime against humanity that destroys the future of the perpetrators." "I just read about a boarding schoolgirl who died a brutal death as a result of bullying," he posted on the Threads application. "I just don't know what has got into the minds of many kids now, that thugs are great and people will respect them." Recalling a past interview with a convicted bully, Alif highlighted that such actions only serve to ruin a person's future. "Believe me, there is nothing great and no one respects you when you are in prison," he said. Many online users echoed Alif's sentiments, with some suggesting that the influence of films contributes significantly to bullying among students. "All local films about school gangsters ignore the lesson at the end of the story but focus more on the violence of the fight scenes," one netizen commented. The tragic incident Alif referred to involved student Zara Qairina, who reportedly died on July 17 after falling from the third floor of a school building in Sabah, believed to be a victim of bullying.

#NSTviral: KJ triumphs in boxing debut against ex-world Muay Thai champion
KUALA LUMPUR: Hot FM radio presenter Khairy Jamaluddin's dream of stepping into a boxing ring came true when he defeated former world number one Muay Thai fighter Saiful Merican in a friendly match yesterday. The bout, held at ST Rosyam Mart in Jalan Kebun, was part of Hot FM's Clash of Champion event and drew a crowd of over 300 spectators. Khairy, affectionately known as KJ, said he was grateful to have claimed a memorable win over the 37-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) star. "Since I was a child, I've always been passionate about boxing and grew up watching Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Mike Tyson. "I've always wanted to step into a boxing ring, and I never imagined I would get the opportunity today. "To face off against a highly respected martial artist like Saiful 'The Vampire' Merican — it's truly an honour," he said. The friendly match had reportedly been in the works since last year, but only materialised on Sunday. Khairy, who has known Saiful for some time, described sharing the ring with the Malaysian MMA athlete as a meaningful experience. "He gave me some room in the first two minutes, but when he punched — he really punched," he added with a smile. Khairy also expressed appreciation to everyone who made the match possible, including his coach and his son, Jibriel Ali Jamaluddin, who served as his cornerman. Aside from the headline bout, the event also featured a match between Hot FM's Bekfes presenter AG and Adli Goldenboy, which ended in a draw. Another crowd favourite was a friendly arm-wrestling match between presenter Fara Fauzana and singer Elizabeth Tan, with Tan emerging victorious.
