Tyrese Haliburton is a true sportsman, and this was quite evident during Game 7 of 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Recently, he was spotted indirectly joining the Indiana Pacers ongoing Summer League practice session. He was sidelined, wearing a protective boot that extended just below his knee.
Despite being unable to play, he made an appearance at the first two practices, earning praise from Summer League coach Isaac Yacob for his presence and for taking the time to speak with the team.
The two-time NBA All-Star even penned an emotional message for his fans and followers on Instagram, updating them about his torn Achilles injury and promising to return stronger. The post mentioned
"Now that I've gotten surgery, I wish I could count the number of times people will tell me I'm going to 'come back stronger.'
What a cliché, lol. This (expletive) sucks. My foot feels like dead weight, fam. But what's hurting me the most is my mind.'
The Pacers' star further added,
'I feel like I'm rambling, but I know this is something I'll look back on when I'm through this, as something I'm proud I fought through. It feels good to let this (expletive) out without y'all seeing the kid ugly cry."
During the ongoing NBA offseason, the Indiana Pacers went on to rope in Taelon Peter in the second round of the 2025 NBA draft. He was also invited for the practice session with experienced Pacers 'players. Reportedly, Taelon Peter and Kam Jones were new faces in the recently announced roster of Indiana Pacers.

Wimbledon 2025, Day 7: Taylor Fritz advances to quarterfinals; Aryna Sabalenka, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova also through
Taylor Fritz (AP Photo) Taylor Fritz moved into the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the third time in four years on Sunday, though not in the fashion he would have preferred. The No. 5 seed advanced after Australian Jordan Thompson was forced to retire due to injury, trailing 6-1, 3-0 after just 41 minutes of play. Thompson, who entered the match carrying back and leg issues, took a medical timeout early in the second set but was unable to continue after a brief attempt to play through the pain. 'Just played a lot of tennis on a body that shouldn't have been, and it just took its toll,' the unseeded Australian said after the match. Fritz, who had battled through multiple five-setters earlier in the tournament, acknowledged the unfortunate circumstances: 'It's obviously not the way I want to go through. It's just sad... Respect to him for coming out. His body's not right.' The American will next face No. 17 seed Karen Khachanov, who defeated Poland's Kamil Majchrzak 6-4, 6-2, 6-3. While Khachanov holds a 2-0 record over Fritz, their last meeting was back in 2020. 'We practice all the time, so we're pretty familiar with each other's games,' Fritz said. 'My sister has cancer': Akash Deep's heartbreaking revelation; dedicates historic Edgbaston win to her
Akash Deep (BCCI Photo) NEW DELHI: Akash Deep delivered a stunning performance with the ball to play a pivotal role in India's landmark victory over England in the second Test at Edgbaston. He picked up four wickets in the first innings and followed it up with a six-wicket haul in the second, finishing with match figures of 10/187. This effort not only set a new benchmark for the best bowling figures by an Indian in a Test in England — surpassing Chetan Sharma 's 10/188 from 1986 — but also made Akash only the second Indian pacer to achieve a 10-wicket match haul in the country. The fast bowler revealed that his elder sister has been battling cancer for the past two months and dedicated his match-winning performance to her. "I have not told this to anyone. My elder sister has been suffering from cancer for the last two months. She is now stable, and she is fine. I think she will be the happiest (seeing my performance). I want to dedicate this match to her. I wanted to see a smile on her face," Akash said after the game. He added an emotional message for her: "This is for you. Whenever I held the ball in my hand, your face was in my mind. I want to see happiness in your face. We are all with you." Poll Do you believe India can maintain their winning momentum in the next Test at Lord's? Yes, definitely No, not likely India were under pressure after losing the first Test but came back strong. Shubman Gill led by example with a stunning 269 in the first innings and a calm 161 in the second. KL Rahul, Pant and Jadeja supported him with valuable runs to push India's lead far out of England's reach. Quiz: Who's that IPL player?
