PFL MENA returns to Saudi Arabia as part of Jeddah Season

Following a successful debut in 2024, the second season aims to expand mixed martial arts in the Middle East by highlighting local talent and providing fighters a pathway to international success.
This season, PFL MENA will be partnering with Jeddah Season to elevate the sport of MMA in the Middle East.
The organization will also continue to promote Middle Eastern talent, with the inclusion of Jeddah-based fighters. This includes debutant Malik Basahel (21-3-1), and Ahmed Makki, who will be competing in his final professional bout.
'We're very excited to be coming back for a second season and expanding our reach to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,' said Jerome Mazet, PFL MENA's general manager.
'Jeddah is home to a number of amazing fighters and has a strong fanbase, so we're excited and grateful to bring the sport of MMA back to this incredible city.'
He said last season 'was a massive success' that elevated the sport and created 'stars that represent the quality and level of Middle Eastern MMA.
'We cannot wait to put on even more amazing events and build even more stars this year.'
Tickets will be available from Tuesday, March 25.

Saudi National Day theme, identity unveiled: Pride in Our Nature
JEDDAH: The theme and visual identity for the 95th Saudi National Day on Sept. 23 were unveiled on Monday with the slogan 'Pride in Our Nature.' The announcement was made by Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and chairman of the Saudi Boxing Federation, who shared the news on his official account on X. It read: 'The new identity for #95th_National_Day is now launched under the slogan #Pride_In_Our_Nature. Download the identity and its applications: This year's identity is a tribute to the character, values and ambitions that define the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the GEA said. It celebrates how Saudis are known for their generosity, authenticity, ambition, kindness, and a willingness to stand by one another in moments of need. The National Day's visual identity comprises six main illustrations, each representing a distinct national trait. These core values are visually translated into symbols inspired by Saudi culture and history. There is generosity, which is symbolized by the dallah (traditional coffee pot) and finjan (coffee cup), representing Saudi hospitality. The country's authenticity is emphasized by the cultural depth and heritage embedded in the Saudi way of life. Ambition, represented by Tuwaiq Mountain, symbolizes resilience and a high-reaching national spirit, inspired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's famous quote comparing Saudi ambition to the steadfastness of the iconic mountain. Faz'ah (solidarity and aid), depicted through crossed hands and inspired by a well-known gesture by the crown prince, symbolizes readiness, unity and mutual support. Vision 2030, incorporated as a future-focused trait, showcases Saudi Arabia's strategic road map for development and transformation. Hospitality highlights the Kingdom's commitment to philanthropy and supporting others. Each illustration is paired with a unique color identity, and supported by three secondary pattern designs, creating a visually rich and cohesive image that mirrors the diversity and unity of the Saudi people. The official logo features geometric typography fused with patterns inspired by traditional Saudi weaving techniques. The phrase 'Pride in Our Nature' is visually constructed using bold, block-like forms in a modern expression of heritage, unity, and national pride. The logo's integrity is protected. It must not be altered, redrawn, or manipulated in any way. A dedicated typeface has also been developed to complement the identity, available in multiple font weights to ensure clarity and consistency across all official applications. Denver set to host Global Champions Arabians Tour for first time
DOHA: The Global Champions Arabians Tour, or GCAT, makes its debut in Denver, the US, with the fourth stage of the 2025 Americas Series taking place from Aug. 8-9 at the National Western Complex. For the latest updates, follow us @ArabNewsSport Following the success of GCAT's events in Scottsdale, Miami Beach and Sao Paulo, the Denver stage brings the world's leading Arabian horse championship to the heart of the American West. The two-day event will showcase more than 100 purebred Arabian horses competing across yearling, junior and senior categories. The Denver stage offers a total prize purse of $270,000 and qualifies winners for the GCAT Americas overall ranking, which awards $1.275 million to the top 20 male and female horses and top 20 handlers, with an additional $50,000 bonus for the highest-scoring horse across the series. 'We're thrilled to bring the Global Champions Arabians Tour to Denver for the very first time,' said Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Thani, deputy CEO of the Global Champions Arabians Tour. The event begins on Friday, Aug. 8, with a day of qualifying rounds across yearling, junior and senior categories, with each class evaluated by a panel of international judges. Saturday, Aug. 9, marks the pinnacle of the weekend for the championship, where the top qualifiers return to compete for gold, silver and bronze titles. The day will include formal award ceremonies, the official honoring of GCAT officials, and opportunities to meet the winning horses and handlers. The arena will then transform into a concert venue for a closing performance by country music artists Big & Rich. After Denver, the tour continues to Las Vegas, for the final stop of the GCAT Americas series from Sept. 26-28, as GCAT moves closer to its grand finale, the World Arabian Horse Championship Supreme in Doha, on Dec. 3-6.
