OPEN// Sisi swears in new heads of judicial authorities
EL ALAMEIN, Egypt, June 29 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed on Sunday in the city of Alamein the swearing-in ceremony of several newly appointed heads of Egypt's top judicial authorities.
Those who took the constitutional oath of office before the president include Counselor Assem Abdel Latif el Saeed Abdel Fattah as president of the court of cassation, Counselor Osama Youssef Shalaby Youssef as president of the state council, Counselor Hussein Madkour Mohamed Abdel Fattah as president of the State Lawsuits Authority and Counselor Mohamed Ahmed Khalil Hafez Khalil as president of the administrative prosecution authority.
Also, Sisi awarded the Order of the Republic, First Class, to each of the outgoing heads of these key judicial bodies including Counselor Hosny Hassan Abdel Latif Abu Zeid, former president of the court of cassation, Counselor Ahmed Abdel Hamid Hassan Aboud, former president of the state council,
counselor Abdel Razek Mahmoud Shoaib, former president of the State Lawsuits Authority and Counselor Abdel Radi Ahmed Seddik Suleiman, former president of the administrative prosecution authority.
Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El Shennawy stated that during his meeting with the newly appointed judicial leaders, Sisi extended his sincere wishes for success in their vital responsibilities.
He asserted the pivotal importance of upholding the rule of law as a cornerstone of the New Republic, where justice and equality are placed at the forefront of national priorities.
Sisi reaffirmed his commitment to judicial independence, praising the critical role of Egypt's judicial institutions in safeguarding citizens' rights, freedoms and property.
He also highlighted their contributions to modernizing litigation procedures, preserving the integrity of the judicial system and enhancing the capacities of judges and legal professionals across various judicial bodies.

Abdalla also paid an official visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria, where he was received by Governor Olayemi Cardoso. The two officials discussed avenues for enhancing institutional collaboration in areas such as financial stability, digital innovation, fintech development, and cross-border financial initiatives. The Afreximbank meetings addressed a broad spectrum of issues relevant to African economies, including economic transformation, institutional resilience, healthcare investment, and innovative financing models. The sessions also explored strengthening ties between Africa and the Caribbean, and reviewed the bank's performance in the 2024 fiscal year. Discussions highlighted Afreximbank's expanding role in supporting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), fostering stronger partnerships among African governments, financial institutions, and investors, and introducing new mechanisms to enhance intra-African trade and economic integration. Notably, the Central Bank of Egypt remains the largest shareholder in Afreximbank, which was established in 1993 and is headquartered in Cairo. The bank's mission is to boost intra-African trade and increase Africa's share in global commerce by financing trade, supporting industrial development, and promoting exports across the continent.

OPEN// Egypt keen to advance cultural diplomacy
CAIRO, June 29 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Sunday lauded the close cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. During his meeting with Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Henno, Abdelatty emphasized commitment to strengthening the cultural dimension within diplomatic work as a fundamental pillar of Egypt's foreign policy. He also commended the pivotal role played by the National Library and Archives in preserving the nation's heritage and history. Abdelatty expressed his aspiration to deepen cooperation with the National Library and Archives, particularly in restoring international treaties and documents signed by Egypt with other countries, as well as in preserving valuable books, references, and historical maps held by the foreign ministry. He further welcomed collaboration on projects related to the digitization of books and archival records. Discussions also addressed ways to boost the promotion of diverse cultural activities abroad through Egyptian embassies and consulates and to increase Egypt's participation in international cultural events to elevate its global standing and showcase the unique richness of Egyptian civilization.
