EC-Council Continues Its Initiative-Driven Momentum, Supporting CyberSHE to Strengthen Women's Participation in Cybersecurity
CyberSHE, an initiative by Women in CyberSecurity Middle East (WiCSME), was launched at Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST). The initiative brings together leaders from government, academia, and industry to deliver focused training, mentorship, and structured career pathways for women seeking to build technical capability and pursue careers in cybersecurity. By equipping more women with cutting-edge skills, the program is helping to unlock new perspectives and build stronger, more inclusive cyber teams across the region.
'Cybersecurity is one of the fastest-growing fields in the world, and the Middle East holds extraordinary untapped potential. At EC-Council, we see education as a catalyst for transformation. Through CyberSHE, we are opening the door to global-standard training, mentorship, and new career pathways for women across the region. This initiative represents the kind of purposeful collaboration that creates lasting opportunity. We are honored to support it, and we believe it is just the beginning of a much larger movement to shape the future of cyber talent in the region,' said Jay Bavisi, Group President, EC-Council.
CyberSHE is a four-week program built around EC-Council's internationally respected certifications. Participants undertake technical training through the Certified Cybersecurity Technician (CCT), Certified Network Defender (CND), and Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) programs. The hands-on, lab-driven curriculum is delivered over three weeks and is followed by a structured set of career-readiness modules that include mentorship, soft skills development, and industry insights.
Dr. Reem Faraj AlShammari, Chairperson of WiCSME, added: 'CyberSHE is more than just a program, it represents the power of collective efforts in action. Through CyberSHE, we are uniting key pillars of our society to create a generation of empowered, job-ready women professionals in cybersecurity. By building skilled workforce, the program is directly boosting the National Cyber readiness (Strategic Workforce Development), and is strategically positioned to improve the entire region's Global Cybersecurity Index rankings.'
Following its launch in Kuwait, CyberSHE will expand to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, and Qatar. Over the next three years, the program aims to train 1,500 women, helping to strengthen national cyber capabilities and promote more inclusive workforce participation.
This partnership reflects EC-Council's global mission to make cybersecurity education accessible, relevant, and transformative. By supporting initiatives like CyberSHE, EC-Council continues to shape pathways that empower women, elevate careers, and contribute to a safer digital future.

Egypt "World's Leading Exporter" of Frozen Strawberries
Taarek Refaat Egypt has firmly secured its position as the world's leading exporter of frozen strawberries for the second consecutive year, shipping over 353,000 metric tons in 2024 and generating $383 million in export revenue, according to the Export Council for Food Industries. The country captured an impressive 27% share of the global market, topping more than 100 international destinations, reflecting Egypt's rising prominence in global agri-food supply chains and the enduring trust in the quality, safety, and competitiveness of its produce. Double-Digit Growth in Demand and Revenue Egypt's frozen strawberry exports have grown at an average annual rate of 26% in value and 24% in volume from 2020 to 2024. The most recent export cycle (2023–2024) witnessed a 14% year-on-year increase in export value, signaling a sharp uptick in global demand for the Egyptian product. 'This sustained growth is no accident—it's the result of a coordinated effort between public and private stakeholders to enhance product quality and meet stringent international food safety standards,' the Council said in a statement. Top Markets: China Leads the Way The five largest importers of Egyptian frozen strawberries in 2024 were: China – $41.9 million (11% of Egypt's total exports) Germany – $41.8 million Russia – $31.1 million United States – $30.9 million Poland – $30.5 million Together, these five markets accounted for 46% of Egypt's total frozen strawberry exports, highlighting the product's appeal across Asia, Europe, and North America. A Case Study in Agro-Export Success Industry experts say Egypt's dominance in the frozen strawberry market reflects several strategic advantages: A long harvest season enabling extended processing windows Competitive labor and logistics costs Government support for export certification, traceability, and food safety systems Modern cold chain infrastructure and packing facilities The Export Council emphasized that Egypt's success in this category should be leveraged to expand into new markets, particularly in Asia and Latin America, while also investing in value-added agricultural processing and product diversification. 'There is a real opportunity to build on this momentum,' the Council stated. 'We must continue enhancing Egypt's global export brand by adding more processed food lines, penetrating emerging markets, and increasing market share in strategic regions.' Global Recognition and National Impact Frozen strawberries are now among Egypt's top-performing agricultural exports, contributing significantly to foreign exchange earnings and employment in the Delta region, where much of the strawberry cultivation and processing is based. Economic analysts see the sector as a blueprint for how Egypt can scale agricultural exports, attract foreign investment, and improve rural development—all while gaining soft power through trusted food products. CBE Governor Attends Meeting of Council of Arab Central Banks in Abu Dhabi

He further highlighted the collective mission to establish resilient Arab banking frameworks capable of addressing regional and international economic and financial challenges. In the same context, the meeting reviewed the outcomes of the specialized Arab Committees across various banking sectors, including: The Arab Committee on Banking Supervision, the Arab Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems, the Arab Committee on Credit Information, the Arab Financial Inclusion Task Force, the Financial Stability Task Force, the Arab Regional FinTech Working Group, and the Arab Green and Sustainable Finance Network. The meeting also explored the progress made in preparing the Arab Financial Stability Report and the Joint Arab Economic Report for 2025, in preparation for their approval at the upcoming meeting of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities' Governors scheduled for September 2025. Egypt participates in permanent bureau meeting of Arab Central Bank Governors in Abu Dhabi
Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), took part in the Annual Meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities' Governors, held on Sunday, 13 July 2025, in Abu Dhabi. The meeting is a preparatory step ahead of the Council's 49th Annual Meetings, scheduled for September 2025. On this occasion, Abdalla reaffirmed the CBE's strong commitment to active participation in all committees and working groups under the Council's umbrella. He underscored the importance of unified efforts to deepen integration among Arab central banks and reinforce joint coordination. Abdalla also stressed the shared goal of establishing resilient Arab banking frameworks capable of responding effectively to regional and global economic and financial challenges. During the meeting, participants reviewed the outcomes of several specialized Arab committees operating across key banking and financial sectors. These included the Arab Committee on Banking Supervision, the Arab Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems, the Arab Committee on Credit Information, the Arab Financial Inclusion Task Force, the Financial Stability Task Force, the Arab Regional FinTech Working Group, and the Arab Green and Sustainable Finance Network. The meeting further discussed progress on the preparation of the Arab Financial Stability Report and the Joint Arab Economic Report for 2025, which are slated for approval at the Council's upcoming annual gathering.
