'Drishyam 3' UPDATE! Jeethu Joseph says simultaneous filming is impractical, but a common release is on the cards
The anticipation around 'Drishyam 3' is steadily building, and director
Jeethu Joseph
has now addressed some of the swirling rumours — especially about whether the film will be shot in Malayalam, Hindi, and Telugu simultaneously.
Talking to Manorama Online, the filmmaker cleared the air, calling the idea of a simultaneous shoot 'impractical,' but shared that a common release date for all versions is definitely being considered.
'Still writing the script,' says Jeethu
Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the first two parts of the acclaimed thriller, revealed that he's still in the process of finalizing the script for 'Drishyam 3'. While many assumed that production across all languages was about to kick off, Jeethu clarified that the final story is yet to be handed over to the respective language teams.
Mohanlal Confirms Drishyam 3 Release |Georgekutty Is Back
'They are waiting for the script to be finished,' he said. "Once the script is complete, I'll hand it over so each team can tweak it to better suit their respective audiences — just like we did with the first two films. But the main storyline will still be mine."
Simultaneous shoot? not feasible
Jeethu was also clear that shooting the movie in three languages at the same time isn't a feasible option — mainly due to scheduling conflicts.
'It's nearly impossible to get all the lead actors' dates aligned,' he said, mentioning that even Mohanlal's availability may not line up with actors from the Hindi or Telugu versions.
That said, fans needn't worry — the plan is still to have the same basic story across all languages.
Plans for an unified release date
While a multi-language shoot is off the table, Jeethu confirmed that the team is exploring the idea of releasing all versions on the same date.
With the widespread reach of OTT platforms, he noted, viewers now watch multiple versions — and staggered releases could affect the visibility of each film.
Jeethu also revealed that Hindi director Abhishek Pathak recently visited him in Kochi to discuss timelines for the script handover.
Jeethu Joseph said that there will be always speculations, but he is focused on getting the right story at this point.
Meanwhile, Jeethu Joseph's previous directorial outing was the court drama film 'Neru' which turned out to be a superhit.

Bigg Boss Fame Abdu Rozik Detained At Dubai Airport Over Alleged Theft: Reports
New Delhi: Social media influencer and Bigg Boss 16 contestant Abdu Rozik was reportedly detained by authorities at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning. The 21-year-old was taken into custody around 5 a.m. shortly after arriving from Montenegro, according to a statement by the management company representing him, as confirmed to Khaleej Times. While the exact nature of the allegations remains unclear, the management company revealed that the arrest is connected to claims of alleged theft. "All we can say is that we are aware he has been taken into custody on allegations of theft," a company spokesperson told Khaleej Times, refraining from disclosing further details. As of now, no official statement has been released by UAE authorities. Rozik, who hails from Tajikistan, holds a UAE Golden Visa and has been residing in Dubai for several years. Diagnosed with dwarfism as a child, the singer and internet personality stands at 3 feet 1 inch tall. Abdu rose to fame through his music and later became a household name in India following his participation in Bigg Boss 16, hosted by Bollywood star Salman Khan. In 2022, he released his first Hindi song, Chota Bhaijaan, as a tribute to Khan. Most recently, Rozik appeared on Laughter Chefs Season 2, paired with YouTuber Elvish Yadav. However, he exited the show midway during the month of Ramadan and was replaced by actor Karan Kundrra. This is not the first time Rozik has found himself in the headlines for controversial reasons. In 2024, he was summoned by India's Enforcement Directorate for questioning in a money laundering probe involving a hospitality firm. While he was not named as a suspect, he still garnered significant media attention. With the latest arrest raising concerns among fans, attention now turns to forthcoming developments and any official statements from Abdu Rozik's legal team and Dubai authorities.

500 issues in 44 years, a testament to a tiny magazine's resilience, literary excellence
In a heartwarming celebration, a small yet stalwart Malayalam magazine from Malappuram marked a remarkable milestone — its 500th issue — by hosting a gathering of writers and readers on Saturday (July 12, 2025) afternoon. With a rich history spanning 44 years, this tiny inland magazine named Innu has carved a niche for itself. The celebration on Saturday afternoon was a testament to its enduring legacy. The afternoon was filled with emotion as dozens of readers and writers came together to celebrate the monthly publication's unique capsule format, which had earned it a place in the Limca Book of Records in 2017 as the country's longest running little magazine. Inaugurating the celebrations, poet Alankode Leelakrishnan asserted that Innu magazine served as a powerful catalyst, imbuing readers with the resilience, passion, and motivation to triumph over adversity and forge ahead. Releasing the 500th issue of the magazine along with poet P.K. Gopi, Mr. Leelakrishnan praised his fellow poet and the magazine's founder-editor Manambur Rajanbabu for his remarkable tenacity in publishing the magazine uninterrupted for 44 years. Mr. Gopi and Mr. Leelakrishnan launched the 500th issue by giving a copy to Jahan Joby and Nived Nitant. They felicitated Mr. Rajanbabu on the occasion. Mr. Leelakrishnan also marked the occasion by taking out a lifetime subscription to the magazine. Since December 1981, thousands of Malayalis across the country have been receiving the magazine every month, almost free of cost. Nearly every prominent Malayalam writer of the past four decades has contributed to it, making the publication a true reflection of the Malayalam literary firmament in a compact format. 'Every writer who made a name in Malayalam began by contributing to the Innu magazine,' said Mr. Leelakrishnan. The magazine passed several milestones in the past. Four years ago, its 40th anniversary issue titled 'Innu Ormakkudanna' had capsule articles and poems by 1,062 writers. 'With 1,062 articles and poems by as many writers, I firmly believe no other magazine, big or small, has matched this feat. It is a badge of honour for the Malayalam language,' Mr. Rajanbabu had told The Hindu in 2021. The magazine boasts an impressive collection of accolades, including the Limca Book of Records Award in 2017 and the Malayalam Book Development Council Award for printing and designing in 1988. Its special issues, such as Kavitha Pathippu, Pirannal Pathippu, Onakkazhcha, Kathakkudanna, and Kavithakkudanna, are highly sought after by collectors. The Saturday celebration of the 500th issue featured an exhibition showcasing 11 special issues of the magazine and 10 books published by it. The event featured writer K. Shyama reciting a poem by O.N.V. Kurup and writer-psychiatrist T.M. Raghuram playing three popular Malayalam songs on the flute. Mr. Rajanbabu credited Malappuram for the magazine's success, saying that Innu would not have reached this milestone if it were based anywhere else in the State.
