Who is Doma in Demon Slayer?
The Sound Hashira is directly responsible for a tragic event that changes the course of Mitsuri's life, while Doma serves to highlight Mitsuri's position within the Hashira.
Doma is easily one of the most powerful demons in the series, only losing to Kokushibo and Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King. Unlike other major demons who handle their enemies with raw power or fire-bending assassinations, Doma turns enemies to ice, freezing them solid, stabbing at them with icicles, and entrapping his victims. On the surface, his personality is patient and friendly. Underneath, he's a cold-blooded killer who considers humans just 'snacks."
Icepunk baby — How do Doma's ice powers work?
Doma's blood demon art is predicated on ice, or cryokinesis. He has the ability to raise the ambient temperature, killing just by being in his vicinity, heating it up to as high as deadly. His ice can take the punishment.
Casts blinding ice to freeze foes within a large radius immediately
Formulate pointy ice arms and buildings
Transform the field of war into his winter wonderland
These powers render Doma lethal at both long-distance and hand-to-hand combat. This is a unique trait even among the strongest demons.
Doma's deadliest ice attacks
Doma's cryokinesis allows him to do a lot of creative and devastating attacks with ice:
Lotus Vines – Summons large, lotus-shaped ice shards that home in on enemies, slicing through foes.
Barren Hanging Garden – Launches an avalanche of ice needles at foes with his hand fan.
Freezing Clouds – Creates a dense fog that freezes and slows down all foes within its bounds.
Sister Bruiser Cold White Princesses – Summons ice constructs that whip freezing blasts of air over the battlefield.
Wintry Icicles – Shoots huge, freezing icicles out with penetrating power.
Scattering Lotuses – Throws rapid ice shuriken that cut through foes like blades.
Each of these attacks is a testament to how much area control Doma has, as he can cover his foes in icy, high-speed strikes from all angles.
His regeneration and physical power only add to his terrifying nature
Beyond his ice-manipulating abilities, Doma is superhumanly strong and heals at a rate that can only be described as superhuman. In one of these fights, against Akaza (another Upper Rank demon), Tanjiro survives having his head almost completely split in half and simply regrows it in seconds.
This healing factor is, in part, why Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, had to go in an entirely different direction. Realizing she would never be able to defeat him in direct combat, she infused her body with 700 times the typical concentration of wisteria toxin, intending to poison him from the inside after he absorbed her.
Why is Doma stronger than Akaza?
Doma ranks higher than Akaza due to having much more versatile abilities. Where Akaza forgoes all weaponry beyond physical tissue itself and martial arts, Doma can take you on with pure muscle or sorcery-esque abilities. With the flick of his wrist he is able to ensnare, crystalize, pierce, and decelerate his foes without coming near them. Add in his ice-based attacks, rapid healing abilities, and battle savvy, and it's clear he has a serious advantage.
How Doma came within a whisker of victory
Doma's fight was one of the fiercest fights not only in the arc but in all of Demon Slayer. He went up against several Hashira at the same time and was still in control. Only through a strategic, extremely intentional sacrifice and the cooperation of the many made him possible was he finally taken down.
His terrifying ice abilities made him feel invincible and even in the loss, he still left a frosty imprint nonetheless as one of the games' most deadly threats.

'If someone is...': What Smriti Irani said on Bollywood's 'silence' on Op Sindoor
Former Union Minister Smriti Irani has advised people to "not watch" actors if they are offended at their "lack of support" to Operation Sindoor, India's military operation against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and POK, launched on May 7. BJP leader Smriti Irani (ANI) In a TV interview, the politician was asked about chatter around Bollywood's muffled response to the operation that India launched a fortnight after 26 civilians were killed in a deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. 'If someone is not with the country, and their lack of support offends you, then don't watch them,' she was quoted as saying by an India Today report. 'How can you express your anger (against their silence) as an ordinary citizen? By tunning off," the publication further quoted Irani. The former MP also asserted that if an actor did not support the Army, it did not mean that no one else did. She said the entire country stood with its forces. She also said that India no longer waits for an actor to break silence on an issue and say 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'. "The country has been made aware of these realities," she asserted. Her interview came ahead of her return to television screens again after years in the reboot of popular show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', in which she will be playing the character of Tulsi Virani. Smriti Irani's remarks came over two months after India and Pakistan got engaged in a military conflict, triggered by Pakistan's targeting of air bases in India. The Indian armed forces said that Pakistan incurred heavy losses, with significant damage to its military infrastructure, including land and air assets. While some actors did heap praise on Operation Sindoor, there was chatter online that Bollywood remained largely silent on the issue, or gave a delayed reaction.

Smriti Irani on Bollywood's silence on Op Sindoor: Don't watch them if you're hurt
When India launched its counter-terror operation under the codename Operation Sindoor, the nation rallied behind the armed forces. However, Bollywood faced criticism for its silence, with many questioning why prominent actors didn't speak up. Addressing the growing public anger, television actor and former Union Minister Smriti Irani remarked that the country stood firmly with its Army, regardless of whether celebrities voiced their support or to growing commentary about the film industry's muted reaction to Operation Sindoor, Irani said the nation should not measure patriotism through celebrity statements.'If someone is not with the country, and their lack of support offends you, then don't watch them,' she said. 'Because, as an ordinary citizen, how can you express your anger (against their silence)? By tunning off. It is wrong to say that if an actor did not stand with the Army, nobody stood with the Army. The whole country was standing with its Army," she emphasised that ordinary citizens have always risen to support the armed forces, regardless of whether celebrities have spoken out or not."The ordinary citizen, was there. The day, the ordinary citizen, will not be there, that day, I will be worried. So, till the time an ordinary citizen, and the parliament of the country is standing with the Army, you can question the silence of the actor. But I don't believe the country is sitting around waiting for an actor to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai.' The nation is well aware of these realities by now," she India-Pakistan reached the brink of war, many politicians questioned the losses suffered by the Army and asked how many planes were downed by the neighbouring country. Many politicians have been demanding an answer from the government."Parliament session is underway; it will definitely be told there,' she warned against sensationalism in matters of national security, saying facts should prevail over headline-grabbing remarks.'As I said, it is very easy to give line-grabbing statements on the issue of national security. I cannot do it. I can speak very easily, but the right and responsibility of presenting facts in the Parliament is of the government—and the nation will run on facts.'She stressed the importance of following parliamentary decorum and history while dealing with sensitive national issues.'Our parliamentary decorum, the history in which he was lying, you will have to take a factual position,' Irani said, adding, 'And today the truth cannot be hidden from the geopolitics and social media and different aspects of media. So I think that the national government has the strength to place all the facts in front of the opposition and the country through the Parliament.'However, she also acknowledged that some facts related to national security may not be made public due to their sensitive should also be aware that there are some internal security and geopolitical facts which will be known only to the leadership and will not be made public. Now I think there is a need to understand the mature reality,' she Irani, who held various significant roles within the Union Cabinet during her political journey, is making her comeback on the screen with the same show that made her a household name 25 years ago – Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.- Ends
