TWS tops Oricon chart, sets sales record
Single 'Nice to see you again' notched the top spot selling about 150,000 copies in the first week, a record for an international artist this year. The six-piece act is the first non-Japanese singer to top the chart this year as well.
The new single is its second endeavor to top the weekly chart, after its first single in Korea 'Last Bell,' and also hit Daily Single Ranking when it was dropped last week.
The band is readying for its first tour in Japan which will begin in Hiroshima on July 11. It will hop around five more cities in the country for 13 shows in total. Youngjae, however, will have to limit his performances as he suffered a toe injury last week.

Japanese version of 'Stove League' begins production
Popular SBS drama to be turned into Japanese series, co-produced by Studio S and Japanese production house NTT Docomo Studio & Live Studio S, the drama production arm of Seoul Broadcasting System, announced Thursday that it has officially kicked off production on the Japanese adaptation of its hit series 'Stove League.' More than a straightforward remake, the upcoming series will be co-produced by Studio S and Japanese production house NTT Docomo Studio & Live, marking a continued push into cross-border collaboration. The original 'Stove League,' which aired on SBS in 2019, follows Seung-soo (played by Namgung Min), who steps in as the general manager of a professional baseball team plagued by poor performance. Lauded for its fresh premise and realistic depiction of team rebuilding, the show struck a chord with viewers, ultimately peaking at a 20.8 percent viewership rating. In the Japanese version, the role originally portrayed by Namgung will be played by Kazuya Kamenashi, a former member of the Japanese idol group Kat-Tun who has since built a career as an actor and sports commentator. Ruto Toichiro, best known for helming the popular 'Ossan's Love' franchise, will direct the series. 'Given baseball's nationwide popularity in Japan, there is growing attention on whether this remake, combined with Japan's unique baseball culture and real-life context, will generate a passionate response comparable to that of the Korean original,' said an official from Studio S via a press release. 'We hope that strong Korean drama IPs like 'Stove League' will once again gain attention and achieve success in Japan,' said Studio S, adding the company also has plans to continue expanding joint production projects between Korea and Japan in the future.

[Exclusive] Big Bang's T.O.P talks with CJ ENM for solo comeback
Industry source says rapper is considering several partners for solo album slated for late 2025 T.O.P, a former member of K-pop boy band Big Bang, is said to be in discussions with CJ ENM over a potential exclusive contract to support his solo career, according to an industry source Wednesday. The rapper spoke last month about his plans to return as a solo artist this year during a promotional interview with an international media outlet. He is currently not signed to any agency. 'T.O.P is in talks with CJ ENM for a solo contract, including plans for a new solo album scheduled for release in the second half of this year,' the source told The Korea Herald on condition of anonymity. 'But among global music distributors, CJ ENM is just one of several options he is considering.' CJ ENM is a major Korean entertainment company with music subsidiaries under its wing such as WakeOne Entertainment and Stone Music Entertainment. It also operates Lapone Entertainment, a joint venture with the Japanese conglomerate Yoshimoto Kogyo, known for producing K-pop groups with Japanese members. It remains unclear which specific label under CJ ENM is involved in the talks. When asked for comment, CJ ENM denied any such discussions. 'There have been no talks regarding an exclusive contract or comeback with T.O.P,' a CJ ENM official said.
