The Trump administration is quietly pushing a bold $30 billion nuclear proposal to Iran, aiming to revive diplomacy after weeks of regional conflict. According to reports, secret talks have taken place despite recent US and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. The plan includes easing sanctions and offering a civilian nuclear energy program—on one strict condition: Iran must end all uranium enrichment. US envoy Steve Witkoff led behind-the-scenes efforts, with Gulf allies expected to fund the initiative. Qatar, instrumental in brokering the recent ceasefire, continues to mediate. While Trump has publicly downplayed the need for a deal, internal talks are intensifying.

The high-end AI chipmaker pushed its market capitalisation beyond Apple's previous record closing value of $3.915 trillion, set on December 26, 2024. According to news agency Reuters, the company's newest chips have been instrumental in training the largest AI models, driving an insatiable demand for its products. Currently, Microsoft holds the second spot with a market capitalization of $3.7 trillion, and Apple now sits in third place, with a market value of $3.19 trillion. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Canadians Can Receive This Benefit in 2025 Canada Today Undo How Nvidia – not Google and Microsoft – is winning the AI race The competition among tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, Alphabet (Google) and Tesla to build advanced AI data centers and lead in emerging AI technology has directly translated into an increased demand for Nvidia's specialised chips. Nvidia, whose core technology was initially developed for video games, has seen its stock market value skyrocket nearly eight-fold over the past four years, growing from $500 billion in 2021 to nearly $4 trillion. Nvidia's market cap is more than that of all publicly listed companies in Canada and Mexico combined Cirting LSEG data, the report says that Nvidia's current valuation surpasses the combined market cap of all publicly listed companies in both Canada and Mexico, and even exceeds the total value of all publicly traded companies in the United Kingdom. Putin and Trump to speak by phone in their sixth conversation this year

MOSCOW: U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin said they will speak by phone Thursday, their sixth publicly disclosed chat since Trump returned to the White House this year. Trump said in a social media post the call will take place at 10 a.m. EDT. Neither leader offered any immediate details on the topic. Their previous publicly known call came June 14, a day after Israel attacked Iran. Their resumed contacts appeared to reflect both leaders' interest in mending U.S.-Russian ties that have plummeted to their lowest point since the Cold War amid the 3-year-old conflict in Ukraine. Thursday's call follows the Pentagon's confirmation that it's pausing shipment of some weapons to Ukraine as it goes about a global review of U.S. military stockpiles. The weapons being held up for Ukraine include air defense missiles, precision-guided artillery and other equipment. The details on the weapons in some of the paused deliveries were confirmed by a U.S. official and former national security official familiar with the matter. They both requested anonymity to discuss what is being held up as the Pentagon has yet to provide details. On Tuesday, Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron held their first direct telephone call in almost three years.

Nvidia Set To Become World's Most Valuable Company In History

Nvidia was on track to become the most valuable company in history on Thursday, with the chipmaker's market capitalization reaching $3.92 trillion as Wall Street doubled down on optimism about AI. Shares of the leading designer of high-end AI chips were up 2.2% at $160.6 in morning trading, giving the company a higher market capitalization than Apple's record closing value of $3.915 trillion on December 26, 2024. Nvidia's newest chips have made gains in training the largest artificial-intelligence models, fueling demand for products by the Santa Clara, California, tech company. Microsoft is currently the second-most valuable company on Wall Street, with a market capitalization of $3.7 trillion as its shares rose 1.4% on $498. Apple rose 0.5%, giving it a stock market value of $3.19 trillion, in third place. A race among Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Alphabet and Tesla to build AI data centers and dominate the emerging technology has fueled insatiable demand for Nvidia's high-end processors. The stock market value of Nvidia, whose core technology was developed to power video games, has nearly octupled over the past four years from $500 billion in 2021. Nvidia is now worth more than the combined value of the Canadian and Mexican stock markets, according to LSEG data. The tech company also exceeds the total value of all publicly listed companies in the United Kingdom. Nvidia recently traded at about 32 times analysts' expected earnings for the next 12 months, below its average of about 41 over the past five years, according to LSEG data. That relatively modest price-to-earnings valuation reflects steadily increasing earnings estimates that have outpaced Nvidia's sizable stock gains. The company's stock has now rebounded more than 68% from its recent closing low on April 4, when Wall Street was reeling from President Donald Trump's global tariff announcements. U.S. stocks, including Nvidia, have recovered on expectations that the White House will cement trade deals to soften Trump's tariffs.
