Taylor Swift Under Fire For 'Hanging Out With MAGA' After Posing For A Photo With Popular Podcast Co-Hosts

Yahooa day ago

Taylor Swift has raised eyebrows after she and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, were pictured with podcasters Taylor Lewan and Will Compton.
Fans of the pop star have since taken to social media to share their opinions on the viral photos, with some even calling her out for it.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship is waxing strong, with the couple recently making their red carpet debut after dating for over a year.
Swift and her boyfriend, Kelce, are receiving massive backlash online after a behind-the-scenes photo captured them posing cheerfully with popular podcasters, Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, even though the singer previously endorsed Democratic nominees during elections.
The image emerged from Kelce's yearly Tight End University event in Nashville on Tuesday night, where Swift took to the stage and performed an acoustic rendition of her hit song "Shake It Off."
In the snap, the couple can be seen standing next to the "Bussin' With The Boys" podcasters as they all flexed their muscles and kept a straight face for the camera.
Compton and Lewan seemingly campaigned for Donald Trump when they shared a video of the now-president shaking their hands.
"Firm handshakes for The Boys and 47," they wrote on it at the time, along with an emoji of the American flag.
Now, the image with Swift has gone viral online. A Reddit post with thousands of comments read: "Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift flexing with Barstool MAGA podcaster influencer bros Taylor Lewan and Will Compton."
Several fans have shared their seemingly shocked reactions to the image of Swift and the podcast hosts.
One viral post on X read, "The fact that Taylor now hangs with MAGA folks tells me all i need to know about how performative she is, where is that 'I want to be on the right side of history' girl gone?"
Another stated, "I need Tayvis to be over so bad. It has brought nothing but [Taylor] hanging out with MAGA."
A person commented, "Taylor's on my last nerve like girl, you've gotta wrap up this MAGA wag era asap and get serious."
Another said, "Taylor Swift won't stop hanging out in MAGA hotbeds and isn't even releasing music to distract me from that fact... okay!"
It's worth noting that Lewan and Compton's political affiliations are unknown, and they interview various people on their podcast, including politicians from all parties.
Amid the heavy criticisms, some fans defended Swift, stating that she has been vocal about her political stance in recent years.
"People trying to push Taylor is MAGA, meanwhile, Trump has been throwing temper tantrums over her since 2019," a fan commented.
Another stated, "So Taylor poses with a few NFL dudes and now she's MAGA? If proximity equals politics, half of you are in trouble at family dinner for sure. Newsflash: Guilt by association isn't a personality trait. She's dating a tight end, not running for office."
"How the hell would she know that they were MAGA. This is why I want Taylor Swift to break up with him. He is going to get her into a lot of problems," a third user said.
Meanwhile, Swift and Kelce's relationship appears to be going well, with the couple showing some PDA while at the recent event.
Although the Kansas City Chiefs star was quite busy at the Tight End University event, which he co-founded alongside fellow tight ends George Kittle and Greg Olsen in 2021, he appeared smitten with the singer amd couldn't take his eyes off her.
The couple achieved another milestone in their romance as they appeared together on the red carpet for the first time since they started dating more than a year ago.
In a snap that emerged on Sunday, Swift had her arms wrapped around the NFL star's neck as she leaned in to the beaming Kelce.
While at the Tight End University event, the "Love Story" singer surprised fans with her first performance in months, following a break after the end of her highly successful Eras Tour.
NFL star George Kittle showered praises on Swift, admitting that she put on an "incredible" surprise performance at the event.
"She was fantastic. For the venue that, I think, it was maybe 1,000 people, that was the loudest 1,000 people I've ever heard in my entire life," he told Fox News. "It was an incredible experience. I think everybody had a lot of fun just watching that one live."
The basketball star went further to share details of the event, saying the singer's surprise performance was all her idea.
"Taylor could not have been kinder, more nice, and she was like, 'I think it might be fun to go sing 'Shake It Off.' And we were like, 'It'd be amazing. Twist my arm, Taylor, please,'" he added.

Jesse Watters' New Nickname For Zohran Mamdani Makes Him Sound Ridiculously Cool

Fox News host Jesse Watters has unveiled a new nickname for New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani — and people can't help but notice it makes him sound really, really cool. Over the past few days, the commentator has referred to the progressive rising star as 'Zohran the Destroyer,' or simply 'the destroyer,' multiple times. In a viral screenshot from Thursday's episode of 'Jesse Watters Primetime,' a chyron reads, 'ZOHRAN THE DESTROYER WRECKS DEM PARTY.' The segment touched on angst from some Democrats over Mamdani threatening the status quo. The democratic socialist beat former New York Gov. and accused sexual harasser Andrew Cuomo in New York City's Democratic mayoral primary on Tuesday in a stunning upset. 'What's Zohran the Destroyer got going for him?' Watters asked in a monologue that trashed Mamdani's policy proposals and mocked his supporters. He also called him a 'smooth-talking assassin.' On 'The Five' on Friday, Watters mused, 'Zohran the Destroyer is about to give Karl Marx a woke makeover, if Democrats can't stop him from becoming the next mayor of New York City.' On social media, people joked about how awesome the moniker made Mamdani sound. ‘Sirens' Star's Mystery Thriller ‘Drop' Gets Peacock Streaming Date

Meghann Fahy and Brandon Sklenar in "Drop." Drop — a mystery thriller starring Netflix's Sirens star Meghann Fahy and 1923's Brandon Sklenar — is coming soon to streaming on Peacock. Directed by Christopher Landon, Drop was released in theaters on April 11 before debuting on digital streaming via premium video on demand on April 29. The summary for Drop reads, "Meghann Fahy (Devon in Sirens) plays Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (Brandon Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. "But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorized by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.' According to Peacock, Drop will begin streaming on the NBC Universal platform on Friday, July 11. For those who haven't subscribed to the platform, Peacock offers an ad-based package for $7.99 per month or $79 per year and an ad-free package for $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year. Meghann Fahy Gets Top Billing On 'Drop' Following Meghann Fahy's success of Max's The White Lotus Season 2 — which earned her an Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2023 — and a pivotal supporting role in Netflix's limited series The Perfect Couple, Fahy is billed as the lead actor in Drop. In an interview with Variety before Drop was released in theaters in April, Fahy told the trade publication that she was excited to be No. 1 on the call sheet for the film. 'It's been amazing. It's so interesting when you go film something, and then a year later, you get to see and share it with people,' Fahy told Variety. 'It's a really, really cool moment. I loved the process of making the film so much. It was a very new experience for me in a lot of ways. I learned a ton, and I met some amazing people.' Ultimately, Fahy knows there are several other talented people who come together to make movies happen. 'I formed such close relationships with the cast, especially Brandon Sklenar and [fellow actor] Jeffrey Self, so sharing the moment with them is something I will remember when I look back because it felt like such a team sport,' Fahy told Variety. 'Everybody in the cast was there every day, from the beginning to the end of the day, whether or not they ended up being on camera, because we never knew how far we were going to get [in each scene]," she added. "So, it felt very communal, like, everybody was a big part of the making of the film.' Drop earned $16.6 million domestically and $12 million internationally for a worldwide box office gross of $28.6 million. Drop had an $11 million production budget before prints and advertising, per The Numbers. Drop was a big hit with Rotten Tomatoes critics, who collectively gave the film an 84% 'fresh' rating based on 220 reviews. Drop also earned a 79% 'fresh' Popcornmeter score based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings. Rated PG-13, Drop begins streaming on Peacock on July 11.
