Gulf Coast Stapletons influencer wife defends husband as he's sentenced to five years in prison for child porn
Joshua Stapleton, 39, and his wife Brittani, 31, are the faces behind the 'Gulf Coast Stapletons' - a social media account that captured snapshots of their seemingly perfect, picture-postcard lifestyle along the Gulf Coast.
But their dreamy world came to a screeching halt when investigators discovered that, over the course of two years, Joshua had downloaded images of prepubescent children portrayed in sexually-charged situations, as reported by Fox 5 News.
More than four years after authorities launched their investigation, the Georgia native was sentenced last month to five years behind bars, followed by 15 years on probation.
On Friday, however, Brittani took to TikTok with a lengthy video defending her husband - going as far as threatening legal action against anyone spreading what she called 'false' statements.
'Josh was absolutely upfront with me about everything in the charges - there were no secrets,' she said in the video.
Brittani also posted a photo on Instagram of herself lying on her husband's lap aboard a boat, captioning it: 'If this is the statement you're looking for, here it is.'
Her husband's arrest followed an investigation launched by the Cartersville Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, with support from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the US Department of Homeland Security.
It was during this time that Joshua was discovered to have downloaded images of children in sexually abusive situations between 2018 and 2020.
'Just a mild-mannered guy, nothing that would even give you the slightest inclination that there was some type of criminal activity going on,' Bryan Canty, who lived across the street from Joshua in Georgia, told Fox 5.
Recalling the night in 2020 when multiple agencies swarmed Joshua's home, he remembered thinking, 'What in the world is going on?'
'l learned about the child exploitation charges later and that just threw me for a loop,' he added. 'I had absolutely no idea.'
Originally charged with 15 counts of child porn possession, Joshua was later indicted on a staggering 40 counts of sexual exploitation of children.
He ultimately accepted a non-negotiable plea deal, pleading guilty to 20 counts while the remaining 20 charges were dropped.
Joshua and Brittani - who have amassed more than one million likes across TikTok and Instagram - often share duo workouts, meals, and vacations with their more than 81,000 followers.
Just last week, the pair shared several videos from their trip to Orange Beach, Alabama.
But Brittani's next public words came in an eight-minute video posted to the popular platform - one many have since labeled 'extremely concerning.'
In the video, she sought to correct what she called 'misinformation' circulating online after news of her husband's incarceration broke.
'What you're not allowed to do is post anything that is a false statement, that is damaging to someone's reputation,' Brittani sternly said.
'And I've seen a lot of it, so I'm going to set the record straight, but if I continue to see it, naturally I'm going to have to take legal action because it's absolutely illegal,' she added.
Brittani went on to address her most frequently asked question: whether she knew about the crimes before marrying Joshua in 2023 - to which she replied, 'Absolutely, I knew.'
She explained that they were friends before dating, and when the charges surfaced, she reached out to him because it didn't sound like him - especially since they had already taken multiple vacations and spent a lot of time together.
'I have a really good judge of character and I knew something was up,' she said. 'I knew that was not Josh.'
She also pushed back against accusations that they were projecting 'fake lives' on their social media accounts.
'There's nothing fake about it. It was our lives, we are still happy, he and I have no issues,' Brittani posted.
Joshua is currently being held in the Bartow County Sheriff's Office Jail. Authorities have yet to release additional information.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs gets standing ovation from inmates after court victory, his lawyer says
Sean 'Diddy' Combs got a standing ovation from fellow inmates when the music mogul returned to jail after winning acquittals on potential life-in-prison charges, providing what his lawyer says might have been the best thing he could do for Black incarcerated men in America. 'They all said: 'We never get to see anyone who beats the government,'' attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a weekend interview days after a jury acquitted Combs of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. Combs, 55, remains jailed after his Wednesday conviction on prostitution-related charges and could still face several years in prison at an upcoming sentencing after being credited for 10 months already served. After federal agents raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024, the lawyer said he told Combs to expect arrest on sex trafficking charges. 'I said: 'Maybe it's your fate in life to be the guy who wins,'' he recalled during a telephone interview briefly interrupted by a jailhouse call from Combs. 'They need to see that someone can win. I think he took that to heart.' Blunt trial strategy works The verdict came after a veteran team of eight defense lawyers led by Agnifilo executed a trial strategy that resonated with jurors. Combs passed lawyers notes during effective cross examinations of nearly three dozen witnesses over two months, including Combs' ex-employees. The lawyers told jurors Combs was a jealous domestic abuser with a drug problem who participated in the swinger lifestyle through threesomes involving Combs, his girlfriends and another man. 'You may think to yourself, wow, he is a really bad boyfriend,' Combs' lawyer Teny Geragos told jurors in her May opening statement. But that, she said, 'is simply not sex trafficking.' Agnifilo said the blunt talk was a 'no brainer." 'The violence was so clear and up front and we knew the government was going to try to confuse the jury into thinking it was part of a sex trafficking effort. So we had to tell the jury what it was so they wouldn't think it was something it wasn't,' he said. Combs and his lawyers seemed deflated Tuesday when jurors said they were deadlocked on the racketeering count but reached a verdict on sex trafficking and lesser prostitution-related charges. A judge ordered them back to deliberate Wednesday. 'No one knows what to think,' Agnifilo said. Then he slept on it. Morning surprise awakes lawyer 'I wake up at three in the morning and I text Teny and say: 'We have to get a bail application together," he recalled. 'It's going to be a good verdict for us but I think he went down on the prostitution counts so let's try to get him out.' He said he 'kind of whipped everybody into feeling better' after concluding jurors would have convicted him of racketeering if they had convicted him of sex trafficking because trafficking was an alleged component of racketeering. Agnifilo met with Combs before court and Combs entered the courtroom rejuvenated. Smiling, the onetime Catholic schoolboy prayed with family. In less than an hour, the jury matched Agnifilo's prediction. The seemingly chastened Combs mouthed 'thank you' to jurors and smiled as family and supporters applauded. After he was escorted from the room, spectators cheered the defense team, a few chanting: 'Dream Team! Dream Team!' Several lawyers, including Geragos, cried. 'This was a major victory for the defense and a major loss for the prosecution,' said Mitchell Epner, a lawyer who worked with Agnifilo as a federal prosecutor in New Jersey over two decades ago. He credited 'a dream team of defense lawyers' against prosecutors who almost always win. Agnifilo showcased what would become his trial strategy — belittling the charges and mocking the investigation that led to them — last September in arguing unsuccessfully for bail. The case against Combs was what happens when the 'federal government comes into our bedrooms,' he said. Lawyers gently questioned most witnesses During an eight-week trial, Combs' lawyers picked apart the prosecution case with mostly gentle but firm cross-examinations. Combs never testified and his lawyers called no witnesses. Sarah Krissoff, a federal prosecutor in Manhattan from 2008 to 2021, said Combs' defense team 'had a narrative from the beginning and they did all of it without putting on any witnesses. That's masterful.' Ironically, Agnifilo expanded the use of racketeering laws as a federal prosecutor on an organized crime task force in New Jersey two decades ago, using them often to indict street gangs in violence-torn cities. 'I knew the weak points in the statute,' he said. 'The statute is very mechanical. If you know how the car works, you know where the fail points are.' He said prosecutors had 'dozens of fail points.' 'They didn't have a conspiracy, they just didn't,' he said. 'They basically had Combs' personal life and tried to build racketeering around personal assistants.' Some personal assistants, even after viewing videos of Combs beating his longtime girlfriend, Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura, had glowing things to say about Combs on cross examination. Once freed, Combs likely to re-enter domestic abusers program For Combs, Agnifilo sees a long road ahead once he is freed as he works on personal demons, likely re-entering a program for domestic batterers that he had just started before his arrest. 'He's doing OK,' said Agnifilo, who speaks with him four or five times daily. He said Combs genuinely desires improvement and 'realizes he has flaws like everyone else that he never worked on.' 'He burns hot in all matters. I think what he has come to see is that he has these flaws and there's no amount of fame and no amount of fortune' that can erase them," he said. 'You can't cover them up." For Agnifilo, a final surprise awaited him after Combs' bail was rejected when a man collapsed into violent seizures at the elevators outside the courtroom. 'I'm like: 'What the hell?'' recalled the lawyer schooled in treating seizures. Agnifilo straddled him, pulling him onto his side and using a foot to prevent him from rolling backward while a law partner, Jacob Kaplan, put a backpack under the man's head and Agnifilo's daughter took his pulse. 'We made sure he didn't choke on vomit. It was crazy. I was worried about him,' he said. The man was eventually taken away conscious by rescue workers, leaving Agnifilo to ponder a tumultuous day. 'It was like I was getting punked by God,' he said.

I looked serial rapist in the eye after he drugged & stripped girls for vile hot tub fantasy…sick home videos snared him
NAKED and unconscious, a young blonde girl is dragged across a concrete patio by her legs before being dumped into a hot tub and brutally raped. Sick predator Craig France filmed the shocking assault, but like most of his unwitting victims this girl has no memory of her harrowing ordeal. 18 18 18 18 Night after night he would prowl nightclubs and bars, preying on the drunkest girls he could find - many of them still in their teens. He'd then lead the staggering women into a taxi, having booked it himself so they would not know his address. Back at his house in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, vile France, 34, would ply the girls with more booze and record himself having sex with them as they slumped semi-conscious or asleep. His drinks cabinet was groaning with bottles of spirit and alcopops to keep them compliant, while every window was blacked out so his victims had no idea if it was day or night. France installed a sinister network of 10 covert recording devices around his house and garden, including his bedroom and one trained permanently on his outdoor hot tub. He amassed hours of stomach-churning footage which eventually helped police snare him when a brave young woman came forward last September reporting France for rape. He was jailed for 10 years in March, but cops fear there could be thousands more victims who have no idea that former lorry driver France ever attacked them. It's believed France had been committing his sinister crimes - laid bare in the latest episodes of 24 Hours in Police Custody, along with footage from his sick cache of home videos - for years before the full force of the law caught up with him. Speaking exclusively to The Sun, DCI Helen Tebbit from the Cambridgeshire Police Rape Investigation Team said: 'They are the actions of a sexual predator, it's the worst I've seen in 20 years of policing." The documentary reveals how detectives began their wide-reaching investigation after receiving a distressing 999 call from a woman who said Craig raped her two years earlier. Who is Craig France and how long did the sexual predator get for his offences She had believed they were pals, and it quickly emerged that sleazy France was renowned for the notorious parties he hosted, with a reputation for picking up girls at his favourite haunt, Flares Peterborough. DCI Tebbit explained: 'He is very well known in the nightlife scene in Peterborough, they know he's a nice guy - he buys loads of drinks, encourages them to come back to his house where he'd have parties. 'This is the way in which he operates. 'But what he has recorded and documented are not the actions of someone who should be trusted. 'He targets young girls only just old enough to drink - all of them saw him as a friend.' He targets young girls only just old enough to drink - all of them saw him as a friend DCI Tebbit In devastating footage from her first police interview the young girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attempted to recall hazy memories of the night at France's house. Shaking and clutching a cuddly toy whale, she said: 'He had a charm about him, very friendly and outgoing. 'I went to his house because I trusted him. I just thought he was my friend. "He got some Sambuca out of the fridge, I did one shot and after that I felt like I was becoming less aware. It was almost like I wasn't in my mind or body properly. 'All I remember is being in a hot tub. I'm not sure how I ended up there. 18 18 18 The confused victim went on: 'Then I woke up in the bed. I didn't have any clothes on which was scary for me - I never undress around people. 'He was in the bathroom washing himself because he had blood on him. That's when I realised I was bleeding. 'I've literally never been the same since it happened, I've gone downhill.' Sinister obsession Police were unable to confirm whether she had been spiked, but following her damning testimony they brought France in for questioning and conducted a search of his home, where they discovered restraints attached to his bed and a huge collection of sex toys. There were also love letters, including one from a girl telling him she was leaving school in six months, as well as more than 70 bottles of nasal spray and a huge sign saying Get Naked. The search also revealed his sinister obsession with hidden recording devices. Officers found more than 6,000 images and videos of unidentified women secretly filmed at his home between March 2022 and September 2023. Crucially, cops found the key video which showed the woman who'd come forward, barely able to stand, being dragged from the garden to the bathroom and being raped on his bed while she appeared 'lifeless'. He could be heard creepily whispering: "You look so beautiful." 18 18 18 Even hardened veteran investigators were stunned by what they saw. DCI Tebbit told us: 'It is really incredibly shocking to watch.' Her investigation then took a fresh twist when an online report landed from a second woman claiming France assaulted her too. She told detectives: 'This happened a while ago but I've just got the courage to tell it. "This man that I slept with, he did video it and I was too drunk to realise. His name is Craig France.' During a police interview she explained: 'I classed him as a good friend. 'He seemed very nice, he was always offering to buy people drinks. 'He'd get people from the club to go back to his - always him that ordered the taxis. I woke up in the bed. I didn't have any clothes on which was scary for me - I never undress around people VictimCraig France's victim "I've only ever been there when I've been drunk, I don't know the address. He didn't seem threatening at all. 'He was very arms open, inviting people back to his for after parties. 'He definitely planned who he was going to befriend or bring back home, he'd look for the girls who were more drunk than others. 'He definitely knew what he was doing when it came to taking women back home. He was always encouraging people to drink more when they were already really drunk. 'We'd get into the hot tub and carry on drinking until we couldn't drink more, pass out basically. 'Then he started to act a bit weird - his whole character changed - really pushy, always talking about sex all the time. He'd walk around his house naked with his penis out. 'He showed me a video of another girl and I said, 'Turn that off, that's disgusting, does she know?' 'He said no and my heart dropped to my stomach and I had to report it.' 18 18 With two similar stories, the team scrambled to find more evidence to charge France. Combing his laptop and phone for further clues, cops discovered France bragged about his exploits to a Whatsapp group of friends and even close relatives. In one revolting message he wrote: 'We f*** then she feels like she's gonna be sick, then we f*** again. It's a vicious circle which I enjoy.' One of his pals commented on a video: 'It looks like a classic rape scene, blood, she is out of it.' It is incredibly rare to have crimes documented to this extent. My only thought is that he kept them for his own sexual gratification and to show off DCI Tebbit Appalled DCI Tebbit told us: 'As a human, as a member of society, it really is quite horrifying when you look at the context of his messages and photos that were shared between him and his friends. 'None of them are of the view that there was a problem. Some of them are joking that it looks like a rape scene - that's because it was. 'The fact that we have individuals in our society who find that acceptable is really disturbing. "It is incredibly rare to have crimes documented to this extent. My only thought is that he kept them for his own sexual gratification and to show off. "It's ironic that he claimed the recordings could prove the sex was consensual, when in fact they did the opposite." Vile cache 18 18 18 In one of his pathetic police interviews France attempted to defend himself by claiming that sex with the first victim was consensual, but DCI Tebbit observed: 'There's no way she's got capacity to consent to anything. 'She's completely out of it. That shows she was completely incapable, that cannot be considered consensual based on the video - she was in no state to consent to anything. That's really damning. "He deliberately targeted very young women as it may not have taken as much to get them intoxicated. He was using their age as a vulnerability." "It was almost like a David Attenborough documentary, watching every single thing he has done in the four walls of his house," she added. Cops also downloaded more than 10,000 photos from France's phone, proving how prolific his attacks have been. Another veteran officer, Detective Mark Hodgson, remarked: 'In 15 years I've not seen anything close to this. He's done it for a long time and it's a way of life.' It also emerged that France was expelled from school for touching other children, and has a history of exposing himself in public places. The squad then faced the monumental challenge of identifying the girls in Craig's repulsive video library - and then not only breaking the devastating news that they had been raped, but also showing them the actual footage of what happened. One stunned victim said: ' I was in shock because I had no idea at all. My mind is spinning, I want answers to all my questions. 'It made me angry seeing those videos. He took everything from me and the rest of the girls. He took our dignity. 'We won't be able to trust a man ever again, won't be able to feel comfortable in our bodies ever again.' After watching the video of herself being assaulted, another victim said: 'My heart just dropped. 'I felt so much shame, embarrassment, disgusted, but I was more upset about the fact I could have been friends with someone like that. 'There's no excuse, no justification. Everyone he's done this to has to fight to carry on. 'It's always going to be with me, that sort of thing doesn't go away.' 'Deplorable predator' 18 18 18 France was sentenced to 10 years and seven months in prison after dramatically pleading guilty before his trial was due to start. He was convicted of a string of offences including rape, sexual assault, voyeurism and exposure. Prosecutor Andrew Young said: 'Craig France is a deplorable predator who targeted young women and established their trust, before ruthlessly exploiting them. 'France built up an extensive set of images, all kept for his own sexual gratification. He and he alone is to blame for his disgusting offending.' The judge added that France posed a "toxic risk" to society. Speaking ahead of tonight's documentary, DCI Tebbit said: "This programme will show that sexual predators can cleverly disguise their depraved behaviours - victims may not realise they are being groomed. "France portrayed himself as everyone's best friend – caring, fun, and provided what his victims thought was a safe place to party. "But in reality he preyed on young women who had barely entered adulthood for his own sexual gratification." Since the verdict nine more women have come forward - but DCI Tebbit added: 'It haunts me that we'll never know the full extent of what his offending has been. 'We can't assume that the digital evidence we have is everything that could have ever happened. "Just because we have a significant volume, that doesn't mean every offence has been recorded so this is an ongoing investigation. "We don't know the full extent of his offending. There could be further victims. "We are keen to hear from anybody who may have been affected." Part one of 24 Hours in Police Custody airs tonight at 9pm, with the second instalment on Monday July 7 at 9pm on Channel 4.

Gulf Coast Stapletons influencer DEFENDS shamed husband after he plead guilty to 20 counts of having child abuse images
AN INFLUENCER has defended her husband online after he was sentenced to prison for child abuse images. Joshua Stapleton, 39, and his wife Brittani, 31, document their Gulf Coast travels across social media, posting what on the surface seems like a perfect life - but it's far from the truth. 6 6 6 6 The pair have amassed over one million likes across TikTok and Instagram with more than 81,000 followers, sharing workout videos, meals and vacations. But their popularity has certainly diminished since investigators made the heinous discovery that husband Stapleton had downloaded child abuse images, Fox 5 News reports. Over four years since authorities initially launched their investigation, Stapleton received a 20-year sentence after pleading guilty to 20 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Five years are to be served in custody and the remaining 15 on probation. But wife Brittani has made it clear she stands with her husband and posted a lengthy TikTok video addressing frequently asked questions on the harrowing situation. She started the video by threatening legal action against anything spreading what she called "false" statements being spread about her husband that are "damaging" to his reputation. Brittani said she knew about the charges against her husband, who wed in 2023, as they were friends before they started dating. She said: "When the charges occurred, we were friends. [...] I have a really good judge of character and I knew something was up. I knew that was not Josh. "We had already been on several trips together beforehand. I'd spent pretty close time with this guy and I was like, hmm, something's wrong here. "Josh was absolutely upfront with me about everything in the charges. There were no secrets." Stapleton's arrest followed an investigation launched by the Cartersville Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division, supported by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the US Department of Homeland Security. The investigation was launched based on a tip submitted through the Internet Crimes Against Children program. It was during this probe the 39-year-old was exposed for downloading numerous child abuse images between 2018 and 2020. Addressing another question from concerned social media users, Brittany defended that the couple's friends with children are aware of the charges against Stapleton. She said: " We've always been absolutely upfront with everyone. And guess what? "A lot of these people have our backs because they have personally witnessed Josh around their children and know that there's no issue." Stapleton was originally charged with 15 counts of child pornography possession, but was later indicted on a harrowing 40 counts of sexual exploitation of children. He ultimately accepted a non-negotiable plea deal and pleaded guilty to 20 counts, while the remaining 20 charges were dropped. Brittani shockingly rejected the claim that child images were on his "work laptop," slamming them as "false". She ranted: " Josh could not possibly have that on his work laptop because if you have ever worked for a corporation or any big company or anything along those lines, you know how secure those computers are." Brittani also pushed back against accusations that they were merely showing "fake lives" across their social media platforms, and said they are "still happy" as a couple despite the vile charges. She rambles: " We are still happy. He and I have no issues. He has been fully transparent and honest with me. "Therefore, I know everything. I have been to court. I know everything. I can assure you that nothing about us was fake." Stapleton will have to abide by multiple "sex offender" conditions upon his release. Bartow County authorities haven't released additional information about the plea proceedings. Stapleton is currently being held in the Bartow County Sheriff's Office Jail. 6 6
