F1 driver's girlfriend steals the show in stunning old-Hollywood gown with sheer detailing

The world of Formula 1 is no stranger to glitz and glamour. When they're away from the track, the sports stars are often found suited and booted at high-profile events across the globe.
That was certainly the case for Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, who attended Le Gala de la Croix Rouge, known as the Monaco Red Cross Gala, hosted by the Monegasque royal family on Saturday.
But it was his girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, who really turned heads that evening.
The 23-year-old art-history graduate paid homage to one of Hollywood's most famous starlets - and one with a fitting Monegasque connection.
Alexandra looked stunning in a floaty, two-toned blue gown inspired by Grace Kelly in the 1955 blockbuster To Catch a Thief.
She complemented the showstopping dress with minimal jewellery, fresh, glowy makeup and a sleek updo.
Alexandra worked with French fashion designer Antione Guerin to create the custom gown.
"Thank you @antoine.guerin_ for bringing my idea to life in your own beautiful way," she wrote on her Instagram.
Antoine's Instagram shows the designer painstakingly creating the details of the gown, crafting the wrapped design of the bodice by hand and forming an intricate rosette.
Alexandra's friends flocked to the comments section to express their admiration.
Rebecca Donaldson, who, aside from being a Scottish model and girlfriend of Williams Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr., is a close friend of Alexandra's, called the dress "dreamy", while George Russell's girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt wrote: "So stunning!!!!!".
Her fans also adored the outfit, with many calling Alexandra a "princess", which tied in perfectly with Alexandra's inspiration, Grace Kelly.
Already a Hollywood queen for her starring roles in films like The Country Girl and Rear Window, American actress Grace Kelly became real royalty when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956.
She was known for her elegance and glamour, as well as her support her emerging performance artists through the Princess Grace Foundation.
Alexandra and Charles began dating in 2023, and she has since developed a reputation for her beauty. She is a regular guest at fashion shows and brand events, and is an ambassador for Hailey Bieber's beauty brand, Rhode.
Alexandra is often spotted at race weekends supporting her racing star boyfriend, and fans are always on the lookout for her next paddock showstopper.

Gladys Russell from 'The Gilded Age' is based on a real life socialite. Here's her story

One of the real life grand dames of Palm Beach, Florida is the inspiration for a key character in HBO's "The Gilded Age" Season 3 — a character whose story is about to take a major turn. Show creator Julian Fellowes, also the mind behind the hit series "Downton Abbey", has said that the fictional Russell family is inspired by the Vanderbilt family, and that central character Gladys Russell (Taissa Farmiga) is based on Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan, the real-life socialite daughter of suffragette Alva Erskine Belmont and railroad tycoon William Vanderbilt. In season three of "The Gilded Age" (Sundays, 9 ET/PT), is being forced by her parents to marry the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb). Similarly, Balsan was forced by her parents in 1895 to marry the Duke of Marlborough, in a ceremony reported to be one of the most anticipated events of the era. While it's yet to be seen if Gladys will follow in Consuelo's footsteps and go through with the wedding, a look back at the real woman offers hints at what the series may have planned. Who was Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan? Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan lived from 1877 to 1964. She was known as the famously reluctant bride of the Gilded Age who, despite her nuptials being the media event of a generation, did not go gently into matrimony. The New York Times assigned six reporters to cover every facet of the St. Thomas More Church ceremony (one writer's sole assignment was to report on the bridesmaids). Balsan's mother, desperate for the prestige her daughter's marriage into the peerage would bring, brokered the engagement with the aristocratic but ill-humored Sunny Marlborough. She then held her daughter prisoner to keep her from eloping with her true love. After bearing two sons, spending a goodly chunk of her fortune to rescue Blenheim Palace from ruin, and giving her mother the social armor she desired, Balsan decided to find her own happiness — and divorced the duke in 1921. Shortly afterward, she married French adventurer Jacques Balsan and spent the remaining half of her life blissfully married. After France fell to the Nazis, the couple moved to the United States. Where did Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan live? As Duchess, she lived in Blenheim Palace. Later, as Madame Balsan, she had homes in Paris, Monte Carlo, New York, Southampton, Manalapan and Palm Beach. In Manalapan, Florida, the Balsans lived on a nearly 7-acre estate in a mansion built in 1935 and designed by noted society architect Maurice Fatio. They named the mansion Casa Alva, for her mother. The former Duchess of Marlborough also bought Lakeview House in Palm Beach in the late 1950s shortly after her husband's death. Lakeview House was built in 1940 by developer Clarence Mack. It was purchased in 2012 for a recorded $5.2 million by longtime Palm Beach resident Virginia "Gina" Mortara. Once free of the Marlboroughs, Balsan happily threw herself into charity work and entertaining, hosting such high-profile guests as Winston and Clementine Churchill, the Duke of Connaught, Charlie Chaplin, the Maharajah de Kapurthala and Grace Moore. "Mme. Balsan is a top-notch hostess and another of the rare ones who are liked for themselves alone: She needed neither title nor Vanderbilt money to win her social laurels," Elsa Maxwell, a gossip columnist, wrote at the time. "Nowadays she is at her best as hostess to a few, preferring small parties to large: No doubt she had her fill of the pomp-and-ceremony school of hospitality during her years as mistress of Blenheim Palace." Did Consuelo Vanderbilt Balsan write her own book? In a bit of a literary twist, Balsan's memoir "The Glitter and the Gold" topped the bestseller list for 20 weeks. When it was published in 1952, the book caused an uproar, raking in both positive and negative reviews. While The Palm Beach Post, now part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, reported at the time that it was the talk of that social season, one newspaper columnist wrote, "Several members of the Vanderbilt clan have been bitterly critical of Mme. Jacques (Consuelo Vanderbilt) Balsan for the publication of her autobiography …They believe that such indiscretions are not befitting a Vanderbilt." For the memoir to come from Balsan, "a lady of extreme regal bearing and behavior, it was a shocker," the columnist added. The Michelin Guide Adds 14 NYC Restaurants Up for 2025 Awards

is the deputy editor of Eater's Northeast region, covering Boston, Philly, D.C. and New York. Based in Boston, she has spent years covering the local restaurant industry. On July 15, Michelin, the tire company and restaurant ratings powerhouse, released a list of 14 new additions to its New York restaurant guide, signaling which new restaurants the inspectors are liking — and earmarking for potential awards later this year. Michelin's additions, which are announced piecemeal throughout the year, join the existing New York guide alongside hundreds of other spots as 'recommended' restaurants. Typically, inspectors have had good first impressions at these restaurants, and they are in the running to possibly be awarded Michelin's more high-powered designations, like stars, later on. First up, it's no surprise that Kabawa, the Caribbean tasting menu spot from Momofuku vet Paul Carmichael, which has been snapping up accolades left and right since its spring debut, is on the list. 'From its elegant dark green dining room with subtle regional references to its sophisticated three-course tasting menu, expect an elevated take on the tropics,' according to the inspectors. Two Thai restaurants made the list, including Hungry Thirsty, the new Carroll Gardens spot run by a band of Ugly Baby veterans, and Glin Thai Bistro, a year-old restaurant in Fort Greene. Inspectors praise the latter restaurant for its 'unique offerings using high-quality ingredients, all with a distinctively Thai look and feel.' In Manhattan, inspectors were impressed by chef Jiho Kim's West Village restaurant Joomak, the second iteration of his former one-Michelin-starred Koreatown spot Joomak Banjum. Adda, the relocated Indian restaurant from the high-flying Unapologetic Foods team (who are also behind the celebrated restaurants Semma and Dhamaka, among others), is on the list, as is Maison Passerelle, Portland chef Gregory Gourdet's sparkling French restaurant inside downtown luxury department store Printemps. Papa San, the Peruvian and Japanese restaurant from acclaimed Llama San creators Juan Correa and Erik Ramirez, and Georgian debut Laliko, home to a formidable 'mother dumpling,' round out the list. The date for Michelin's annual New York awards ceremony has not yet been announced, but it typically takes place towards the end of the year. (Last year, it was held in December.) These 14 restaurants, alongside the other nearly 400 spots in Michelin's recommended New York restaurants list, will be up for the coveted stars and other award designations to be revealed at the ceremony. Xilam Animation: First-Half 2025 Revenue

PARIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regulatory News: Xilam Animation (Paris:XIL), Academy Award®-nominated French animation studio, announces its revenues for the first half of the 2025 financial year, drawn up on 30 June 2025. Marc du Pontavice, Chairman and CEO of Xilam, comments: 'First-half activity reflects the strategic shift initiated several months ago, in partnership with major European broadcasters, towards proprietary productions, which follow longer cycles and pursue a dual objective: more recurring value creation levers and less dependency on servicing. During the first half, Xilam continued production of two highly promising new series— Piggy Builders and Submarine Jim —as well as a new family feature film, Lucy Lost, and announced the launch of Turbo Twins. These new projects were enthusiastically welcomed at the Annecy Festival, reinforcing our confidence in their international sales potential. In the second half of the year, expected deliveries will support a significantly higher level of activity than in H1, and the high-potential young adult series The Doomies will premiere on Disney+. 2025 will remain a year focused on rebuilding the order book in a rapidly evolving market, where Xilam maintains its strength and leadership in French animation thanks to its agility and unique creative expertise.' (1) Unaudited data (2) Total grants (new production and catalogue) (3) Estimated Audiovisual Tax Credit (ATC) Sales of new productions and developments Sales of new productions and developments came in at €2.0 million, down sharply due to the halt in order from international streaming platforms, as well as the low level of deliveries for proprietary productions. These are expected to rise significantly in the second half of the year, driven by projects launched in 2024. As anticipated, proprietary productions have become predominant, now accounting for 65% of total revenue (compared with 29% in H1 2024), with partial deliveries of two series: Piggy Builders, in partnership with France Télévisions, the BBC, and ZDF, and Chicky Season 4 for France Télévisions. These figures only partially reflect the Group's activity, as Xilam invested a total of €8.6 million in its new proprietary productions during the first half. These investments will contribute to revenue generation through 2027. Stable catalogue sales Catalogue sales amounted to €2.2 million. As in the first half of 2024, catalogue activity should be assessed on a full-year basis, with the second half traditionally much stronger, particularly due to AVOD advertising revenues which are concentrated in the fourth quarter. By refocusing on the proprietary model, Xilam aims to strengthen catalogue sales over time, in order to generate more recurring revenue and restore satisfactory profitability. Total sales, excluding grants, of €4.2 million International sales accounted for 77% of total revenue, stable compared to the first half of 2024. The Kids segment—historically a core strength of the Group—represented 94% of total sales, up significantly from 57% in H1 2024. Total operating revenue of €6.0 million Grants amounted to €1.4 million, bringing total revenue including grants to €5.6 million. Other current operating income came to €0.4 million, bringing total operating revenue to €6.0 million. A strong reception for Xilam's new slate at the Annecy Festival. At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Xilam presented its new family-friendly line-up, featuring both epic cinematic adventures and vibrant comedies, which received an enthusiastic welcome and sparked strong interest from international broadcasters. The Group unveiled a first glimpse into Lucy Lost, its new moving and powerful feature film, co-written and directed by Olivier Clert and adapted from the best-selling novel Listen to the Moon by Michael Morpurgo. Xilam also showcased three new proprietary series currently in production: Submarine Jim, with France Télévisions and Super RTL already on board, for a Kids' audience. Jim, a naive, young dolphin, is steering the world's first-ever submarine on wheels. He is leading a motley crew of underwater friends on a whirlwind journey across land and sea. Piggy Builders, commissioned by France Télévisions (France), BBC (UK) and ZDF (Germany), for a preschool audience. The charismatic siblings with curly tails share a deep love for building, problem solving and their wonderful community in Fine Forest. Turbo Twins, a new comedy action CG animation series in partnership with commercial French broadcaster TF1 for a Kids' audience, aged 8 to 11. The fastest K.A.R. racers are battling out for a place at Nationals— but the Turbo Twins are far from being the favorites. Elimination—and going home—is simply not an option. And when high-octane racing meets summer camp life, buckle up! Planned Transfer of Listing to Euronext Growth Xilam has filed an application to transfer the listing of its shares from the Euronext Paris regulated market (Compartment C) to Euronext Growth Paris, in order to benefit from a more flexible regulatory framework suited to its current market profile. As a matter of best practice, the Company plans to retain certain accounting and governance standards that are mandatory on Euronext's regulated market—most notably, the continued use of IFRS consolidated financial statements. As part of this transfer, which is expected to take effect in the third quarter, the Group intends to maintain regular engagement with its shareholders and investors. A year dedicated to rebuilding the order pipeline and refocusing on proprietary production model The year 2025 reflects the industry's cyclical downturn and ongoing restructuring, marked by a swift reduction in production overcapacity. Xilam is well prepared to navigate this period thanks to its strong fundamentals: A highly robust balance sheet, fully debt-free at the end of 2024. The strength of its brand, the creativity of its talent, and excellence in execution, which position Xilam as a key player at the heart of the global animation industry—both in series and feature films. The depth and appeal of its catalogue built around three flagship brands: Oggy and the Cockroaches, Zig & Sharko, and Chicky. Second-half revenue is expected to show a clear improvement over the first half, driven by ramped-up deliveries of Piggy Builders and Captain Jim, as well as the catalogue's typically stronger performance in the latter part of the year due to seasonality. Nonetheless, the Group confirms that revenue is expected to decline in 2025, reflecting the transition to a predominantly proprietary model—before a return to growth in 2026. Calendar About Xilam A major player in animation, Xilam is an integrated studio founded in 1999 that creates, produces and distributes original programmes in more than 190 countries for both children and adult audiences. Xilam content is broadcast on television, and is also available on SVoD platforms including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon and AVoD streaming platforms including YouTube and Facebook. With its creativity and capacity for innovation recognised worldwide, its unique expertise in CGI, as well as editorial and commercial expertise at the cutting edge of its industry, Xilam is positioned as a key player of the market. Each year, Xilam builds real successes and capitalises on its powerful historical brands including Oggy and the Cockroaches, Zig & Sharko and Chicky, as well as new properties such as Oggy Oggy for a preschool audience, Mr Magoo and Karate Sheep, and Academy Award® nominated adult feature film I Lost My Body. Additionally, Xilam produced the forthcoming horror comedy The Doomies, for Disney+. Xilam's expanding and strong catalogue now consists of over 2,800 episodes and three feature films. Xilam employs more than 400 individuals, across its studios in Paris, Angoulême in France and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Xilam was ranked France's leading animation studio for the 2018-2023 period in a report by the French National Centre for Cinema and Animation (CNC). Xilam is listed on Euronext Paris Compartment C - PEA - SRD long Eligibility. ISIN : FR0004034072, Symbol: XIL For more information:
