Some also fold up small, which is great if you are short on space.

So whether you are after cheap, cheerful, bright or bold, Lynsey Hope has the right one for you:
Habitat Bright Stripe Folding Metal Sun Lounger
6
For those a little short on space, this remarkably cheap and cheerful model from Habitat has a fold-up design that makes it easy to store in between sunny spells.
You can choose from three reclining positions so whether you prefer sitting up, a flat out stretch or somewhere in between, this should have an option for you.
At just 3.85kg, it's also easy to manoevue around the garden so you can soak up the best rays.
The metal frame did get a little hot to touch in extreme heat but the polyester seat was comfy and seemed reasonably robust.
For an even brighter summer scene, try the pink and red colourway.
Comfort: 3/5
Value: 5/5
Overall score: 8/10
Dunelm Helsinki Lounger

A super comfy lounger with an adjustable backrest, allowing for multiple reclining positions.
The steel frame and textilene fabric are not only comfy to relax on but they seem durable.
The lounger is available in a lovely choice of vibrant colours including coral and aqua.
The plastic arms didn't get as hot as the metal Habitat ones but I do worry the brighter plastic colours would fade in the sun.
Comfort: 4/5
Value: 5/5
Overall score: 9/10

Handy that it comes with a sunshade, especially on super hot days.
It can recline fully if you want to be flat with your feet up or there are various reclining positions.
Simply lock the chair in place with the twin locks on each arm.
The padded headrest provides extra comfort and there's a removable pillow if you need additional support.
I loved the useful clip-on table for food and drinks.
It's made from strong PE rattan, seemed durable, and the grey colour hid dirt well and the colour didn't seem to fade in the sun.
For the price, great quality.
Comfort: 4/5
Value: 3/5
Overall score: 7/10
OHS Zero Gravity Lounging Garden Chairs

These were my favourite - super comfy and they provided ultimate relaxation in the garden.
There was an effortless reclining mechanism allowing you to fully customise your lounging position.
The design is sleek and modern and they were easy to wipe clean.
Light and easy to manoeuvre around the garden and available in a pretty selection of colourways, too.
Guests often refused to get out of them in my garden in case someone jumped in their place when they left the chair.
Comfort: 5/5
Value: 5/5
Overall score: 10/10
B&Q Curacoa Blue and Red Metal Sun Lounger
£30,

Loved the retro look of this lounger from B&Q. It's lightweight, foldable and easily portable.
I did find it a little trickly to fold up and worried about getting my fingers trapped but once I got the knack of it, it was ok.
It offers three adjustable positions and was comfy, perhaps a little low to the ground which might cause an issue for some loungers.
Made of steel and textilene, for £30 it seemed reasonably sturdy.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, 48, has a youthful glow next to husband Freddie Prinze Jr after sharing her diet secrets
Sarah Michelle Geller looked sensational on Monday evening at the Los Angeles premiere of the reboot for I Know What You Did Last Summer. The 48-year-old blonde had on a frilly mini-dress with a cheerful butterfly-inspired pattern that flashed the flesh as she showed off a summer tan and toned figure. The TV veteran added orange pumps and a matching boxy clutch purse that picked up the orange hue in her fancy frock. Her blonde hair was pulled back a bit as curtain bangs framed her famous face while she added whimsical earrings. The Buffy The Vampire Slayer veteran was on the arm of her 49-year-old husband of 23 years, actor Freddie Prinze Jr. They met in 1998. Prinze looked dapper in a navy blue suit as he displayed his silver fox-esque salt-and-pepper hair and goatee. Last year Sarah shared her diet tips as she credited meal preparation. She takes time to grocery shop and set aside exactly what she needs to get through the day. For breakfast she makes an egg that she pairs with avocado toast which provides protein and good fats. 'An avocado toast is a great way to get protein,' she told Eating Well. 'I love to put an egg on top of my avocado toast. And you can put a great burrata, a little cheese, on top for protein. That is certainly No. 1.' For lunch Sarah goes for a Buddha bowl which includes brown rice, chicken, cabbage and cucumbers with soy sauce and honey. Dinner might be a Mediterranean chicken quinoa salad or fish with vegetables. Then there are the workouts. Gellar's fitness routine is varied and includes Pilates, strength training, and hiking. She's been incorporating weight training more recently and enjoys Pilates classes using machines like the Megaformer. She also enjoys hiking with her family and dogs. Additionally, she uses streaming workout services when traveling. The TV veteran added orange pumps and a matching boxy clutch purse that matched the orange in her fancy frock In April she shared the secret to marital success. Apparently the answer has to do with having one's own personal space. The actress who was in Paris for Fashion Week in March, shared the secret when she stopped by the Today studios. She chatted with Jenna and Friends host Jenna Bush Hager and her guest host Tiffany Haddish. 'Separate bathrooms,' she state authoritatively to the astonished hosts. 'That's it? It's that simple?' Hager queried. 'It's that simple,' the Dexter: Original Sin star confirmed. Comedian Tiffany Haddish had a different idea, inspired by the golden age of television. 'See, I was thinking it was like the Lucy and Ricky thing [ from I Love Lucy] where you both had twin beds, and then when y'all want to get together, you push them together, and when you want to be apart, you push them apart,' she suggested. 'I had not thought of that,' the Wolf Pack star admitted, adding, 'that is actually a really good idea.' Geller and Prinze, 49, met on the set of 1999's I Know What You Did Last Summer, which is getting a reboot. The action star revealed on social media in November 2024 that she was with Prinze in Australia for production on the fright flick. A new trailer for the gory thriller was release on Tuesday. Geller's Helen Shivers was killed in the 90s film. Prinze, 49, reprises his role as Ray Bronson and Jennifer Love Hewitt, 46, returns as Julie James. Geller also admitted the long awaited Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot was also in the works, but said she wasn't allowed to talk about any details. 'We won't do it until we know we're 100-percent ready and we're confident that we are giving you something that the audience is asking for, that's also original in its own right.' The rebooted Buffy will make it to the small screen sometime in 2026. The new I Know What You Did Last Summer debuts in theaters July 18.

Sarah Jayne Dunn unveils jaw-dropping 16-week body transformation as she hits back at trolls with empowering message: 'I've never felt fitter or stronger'
Sarah Jayne Dunn shared her incredible 16-week body transformation on Instagram on Monday, offering an inspiring message of self-empowerment to her fans. The former soap star, 43, looked sensational in a pink activewear set that showcased her toned abs and sculpted physique. She also shared a 'before' photo to give followers a glimpse into the early stages of her fitness journey - before sharing a series of gym clips alongside screenshots of negative comments from trolls who had doubted her progress. In a lengthy caption, the former Hollyoaks star addressed the transformation and the effort behind it, writing: 'Let's talk about this transformation… 'Yes, it did take 16 weeks. Yes, that is me. Yes, I have looked like that before. What changed? I stopped putting myself at the bottom of the list. 'I started prioritising movement, fuelling my body properly, and working with an incredible coach, @adam_cnewton. 'The side by side isn't about saying look at me- it's about showing what's possible when you commit to yourself and your goals. 'I'm proud of the work I've put in. And honestly? I don't think we celebrate that enough. 'Why is it that when someone achieves something through consistency and effort, the response is suspicion or criticism? Is it because it challenges others to reflect on what they're not doing? 'This journey was never been about quick fixes. It's about long term habits, real strength, and self respect. 'Even now, week on week, Adam increases my weights and pushes me to new levels. I've learnt to listen to my body, on high energy days and on the days where everything feels heavier (especially around that time of the month!). 'I've built a rhythm with my body that's about listening, adjusting, and celebrating what it's capable of. And I've never felt fitter or stronger than I do right now. 'So here's to those who show up. Who put in the work quietly. Who evolve because they're choosing themselves. I see you- and I'll keep sharing this to remind you that you can do it too. She concluded: '#EmpoweredWomen #RealResults #StrengthInConsistency #SarahJayneDunn #UltimatePerformance.' The post comes after Sarah landed a new job as a pole dance teacher, not long after she quit Hollyoaks to pursue a career on OnlyFans. The former actress was given an ultimatum by bosses to stop sharing racy snaps or to leave - and she chose to walk away. Sarah, who played Mandy Richardson from 1996 to 2021, has always defended her decision for her controversial side hustle to TV bosses. Not only does she do OnlyFans, but now dances too. The mum-of-one has now shared photos in a thong as she confirmed she has now taught her first lesson. She told The Sun: 'It was great and all the women were so lovely - I'm really excited for them all to go on their own little pole dancing journey.' 'I feel supported, I feel I can be myself and not be judged - and how rare is it to find that space and sense of community? I feel very lucky,' she added. Sharing updates with her followers before her first-ever class, Sarah admitted she was feeling nervous. On Instagram, the TV star penned: 'I'm excited and terrified in equal measure… because very soon, I'll be stepping into a whole new challenge - teaching my first beginners' pole class!' 'Pole has been a huge part of my life for over two years now. I first found it just after lockdown, a little before turning 41, when I was looking for something fun, but challenging. 'From the very first spin, I was hooked. What started as a way to move and push myself has become so much more- strength, confidence, and a whole new community of incredible, supportive people who lift each other up (literally!).' Sarah continued: 'I've recently started 1:1 training with a new pole coach, and I can already feel myself improving in ways I never expected. 'Now, I'm about to take the next step, sharing everything I've learned with others. My beginner's classes will be for absolute newbies or anyone wanting to go back to basics! 'I'll be teaching at the same studio where my journey began too which is exciting @PoleGymholmeschapel, and I can't wait to help others discover just how empowering pole can be.' She previously showed off her impressive two-stone weight loss transformation as she discussed the recent Hollyoaks cast cuts and her love for pole fitness. While discussing her fitness journey, Sarah said she was excited to 'feel strong again,' adding that her son Stanley, seven, has been a huge inspiration. Sarah starred on Hollyoaks for 25 years before she was dropped from the soap in November 2021 after joining OnlyFans. Her exit from the soap came after an unnamed co-star logged a formal complaint and bosses have since changed cast members' contracts to ban them from launching their own OnlyFans.

I live by the sea, and these are the best beach towels I've tested for 2025
With summer in full swing, it's time to crack out the beach towels, swimsuits and sunscreen for a day at the seaside or lounging poolside. Here in the UK, a dip in the sea almost always goes hand in hand with a yelp, deep breath and chorus of 'It's alright once you're in' – so you know you're going to want a snuggly, fluffy towel waiting for you once you emerge from the depths. Whether it's something garish that stakes your claim to a patch of sand or a print to show off your style, 2025's offerings have something for every type of beachgoer. Of course, an aesthetic design doesn't necessarily make for durable or absorbent fabric, so I've been busy testing sand- and chlorine-resistant towels. Scroll on to browse my pick of the best beach towels after months of testing. How I tested I live within easy reach of Brighton Beach, so I was perfectly placed to get hands-on with the best beach towels. While I was lucky enough to land plenty of sunny days through May and June, I couldn't heat up the 10-13C sea water. This meant undergoing a handful of cold-water plunges before retreating to the shore and swiftly bundling up in a beach towel. I put the towels through their paces after a swim and when lounging on the pebbles, and I also laundered each one. Several towels did not make the cut. Across each model, I paid attention to the following features: Drying effectiveness: A towel's most important role is to dry damp skin after swimming, so I ensured that each one could mop away moisture quickly. Drying speed in and of itself: After a day by the pool or sea, you'll have to lug your beach towel back home and, ideally, it won't be sopping wet for the journey. Style: Though this is somewhat subjective, I tried to pick prints that will stand the test of time. Unique functions: You might think a beach towel is just a towel, but you'd be surprised to discover how many pieces stand out from the crowd with a 2-in-1 tote bag design or sand-resistant textile. Laundry: A flashy design won't be much good if all the colours melt into one upon contact with water, so I inspected the brilliance of the colourful fabrics after washing. I also looked out for any changes in texture, noting which terry towelling remained soft and which (if any) turned rough after drying. Pilling: Everyone hates when a towel leaves a fluff trail from your torso to your toes, so I kept an eye out for pilling fabrics. Why you can trust IndyBest reviews Not only does Lucy Smith live by the beach, but she's been a keen cold-water swimmer for years, so she knows what she wants from a decent beach towel. She also used to assessing fabric for quality and durability, having tested silk pillowcases and much more for IndyBest. Lucy's reviews are always based on real-world testing, and she will only recommend products she believes are worth your money. The best beach towels for 2025 are:
