Nothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: Which one wins on specs, design, chipset and price?

The Nothing Phone 3 has finally arrived in India at a starting price of Rs 79,999. Since the beginning, the company has been calling the Phone 3 its "true flagship", and now we know why. The Nothing Phone 3 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a 50-megapixel primary camera and a new Glyph matrix. While several questions are being raised about the price range and the specs, it will be interesting to see how the phone will stand against its rivals. In this article, let's compare the Nothing Phone 3 with the iPhone 16e. advertisementNothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: Design Nothing is known to bring a unique design to its smartphones, and it has done the same to the Phone 3. The Nothing Phone 3 features a classic transparent back adorned with etched out-of-the-box patterns. Interestingly, not all the design elements are merely decorative—some serve functional purposes as well. For instance, the red square on the back subtly glows when the Phone 3 is recording using the camera. The rear panel also features a triple camera system in an asymmetrical pattern. On the other hand, the iPhone 16e design is rather simple and neat. The mainstream Apple device features a smooth rear panel with a single camera shooter. Nothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: DisplayThe Nothing Phone 3 sports a big 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the iPhone 16e is a more compact phone, with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with OLED technology and 60Hz refresh rate. Nothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: Chipsetadvertisement Powered by the 3nm A18 Bionic chip, the iPhone 16e takes the lead in processing performance. In contrast, while the Phone 3 is positioned as a flagship, it falls short on the chipset front on paper, featuring the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC, rather than the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite. However, it is still to be seen how the phone performs in a real-world scenario. Nothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: BatteryThe iPhone 16e comes equipped with a 4,005mAh battery, supporting both USB-C and MagSafe wireless charging. Meanwhile, the Phone 3 features Nothing's largest battery yet—a 5,150mAh unit—offering up to 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Nothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: Camera Nothing has significantly upgraded the camera system on the Phone 3, equipping it with a powerful triple 50-megapixel setup on the rear. The main camera uses a large 1/1.3-inch 50-megapixel sensor, the ultra-wide lens offers a 114-degree field of view with its own 50-megapixel sensor, and the telephoto camera utilises a periscope lens for 3x optical zoom, also paired with a 50-megapixel sensor. The front camera gets a boost too, with a 50-megapixel sensor for high-resolution contrast, the iPhone 16e features a 48-megapixel Fusion rear camera with 2x telephoto capabilities, along with a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera. Nothing Phone 3 vs iPhone 16e: PriceadvertisementThe iPhone 16e launched at a starting price of Rs 59,900 and still faced criticism for being expensive. In comparison, the Phone 3 comes in at Rs 79,999—an eye-catching Rs 20,000 more. While the Phone 3 has a lot of great specs, it doesn't quite check all the boxes. Looking at the price, the iPhone 16e offers a better value, especially because of the chipset used in the Phone 3. That said, the real-life scenarios could be game-changing. We will soon push out our Nothing Phone 3 review, till then, stay tuned!- Ends
