
UAE Showcases Global Model for Women Empowerment and Gender Equality at UN Forum
During the forum, the UAE delegation emphasized that empowering women and achieving gender balance are key pillars for inclusive and sustainable development, and vital to realizing the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The delegation presented the UAE's national framework that supports women and families as the foundation of society. They highlighted progressive laws and policies, including the Equal Pay Law and constitutional guarantees for gender equality, which have helped increase the participation of women in leadership and decision-making roles.
Key achievements were shared, such as:
Women making up 50% of the Federal National Council,
26% representation in the Cabinet,
46% of UAE STEM graduates being women,
And 80% of the scientific leadership team of the Emirates Mars Mission being female.
The delegation also spoke about the UAE's global initiatives to support women, including the Women in Peace and Security initiative by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
Bridging the Digital Gender Gap
On the sidelines of the forum, the UAE hosted a high-level roundtable focused on 'Accelerating Innovation in Promoting Gender Equality in the Post-2030 Era.' The event brought together leaders and experts to discuss digital inclusion, the care economy, and women's leadership.

H.E. Savannah Mazhya, Minister of ICT in Eswatini and Chair of the Global Council for SDG 5,
H.E. Abdulla Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chair of the UAE National Committee on SDGs,

Along with global policy experts and representatives from UN initiatives.
H.E. Lootah stated, 'The UAE has built a unique global model rooted in decades of family-centered development. We believe community empowerment is both the foundation and the future of sustainable progress. We are proud to share our experience and success with the world to help drive inclusive development.'
Through its participation at HLPF 2025, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to working with the international community to promote equality and support a more inclusive, innovative future for all.

It features a range of initiatives that highlight the UAE's efforts in innovation, climate action, and community empowerment. The exhibition also traces the country's long-standing engagement with sustainable development, starting with the Rio Summit in 2000, and expands on the global dialogue launched through the UAE's Government Experience Exchange Programme. Four Pillars for the Future The display outlines the UAE's post-2030 sustainable vision, built on four central pillars: HE Abdulla Lootah emphasized: 'The UAE is deeply invested in sharing its best practices with global partners. This exhibition reflects our belief in collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing as essential drivers of a more sustainable and inclusive future.' National Programs with Global Impact The exhibition showcases how UAE-led projects are influencing global development: Ministry of Interior: Presented the "Green Justice" initiative, which tackles environmental crimes in Latin America, supporting SDG 17 on partnerships. Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD): Highlighted its role in financing projects across more than 100 countries, focusing on education, renewable energy, and infrastructure. Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood: Introduced initiatives like the "National Child Empowerment Guide" and "Emirati Children's Parliament" to advance gender equality and youth engagement (SDG 5). Noor Dubai Foundation: Shared its iBSAR program, which combats visual impairment in Asia and Africa, aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
