Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7's full dimensions leak, the folding screen will have smaller bezels

GSM Arena09-05-2025

A couple of days ago the prolific Chinese leaker who goes by Ice Universe (or Ice Cat more recently) has shared the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7's thickness - 3.9mm when unfolded, 8.9mm when folded. That would make it the thinnest book-style foldable ever when unfolded, beating even the current king, Oppo's Find N5, which is 4.2mm thick.
Today he's back with the Fold7's full dimensions, which are said to be 158.4 x 143.1 x 3.9 mm when unfolded. Compared to its predecessor, it's taller and wider, and of course thinner. It obviously also beats the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which was so far Samsung's thinnest foldable.
The inner folding screen's bezels will also be thinner, according to the same source. Pictured below is the Fold6's bezel, which allegedly measures 1.9mm. The Fold7 will take that down to a rather incredible 1mm, while the Flip7's bezel will be 1.2mm.
So with all of this in mind, it seems like Samsung has finally noticed that its Chinese competitors have it really beat when it comes to foldable device thinness, and decided to actually compete on this spec. Unfortunately, the battery capacity will remain the same 4,400 mAh in the Fold7 as in its predecessor - perhaps we have to wait another year for Samsung to get that memo too. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6

Samsung Galaxy A55 spotted on Geekbench running Android 16, could get One UI 8 before next year

Samsung's latest custom Android skin, One UI 8, which is based on Android 16, is currently available to the Galaxy S25 series in select markets through the beta program, and it will be a while before older, lower-end Galaxy devices get a taste of it. One of the Samsung smartphones eligible for One UI 8 is the Galaxy A55, which could receive the stable build by the end of 2025. Samsung Galaxy A55 We say so because the Samsung Galaxy A55, bearing model code SM-A556E, has been spotted on Geekbench running Android 16, suggesting Samsung has started working on One UI 8 for this Exynos 1480-powered smartphone. Samsung Galaxy A55 spotted on Geekbench running Android 16 We expect Samsung to open the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy A55 in the next few months, with the stable build released before 2026. Deals: the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge gets its first major discount, but the S25+ is even cheaper

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is not selling too well, but results from our poll suggest that dropping the price would be a good way to fix that. Let's test that theory – Samsung's slender flagship just got its first major discount. The 512GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is now under $1,000. Keep in mind that the MSRP of the base 256GB variant is $1,100, so you get more storage for less money. Would you be better off with a Samsung Galaxy S25+? Check out our Galaxy S25+ vs. S25 Edge article for our thoughts on the matter. The S25+ has better battery life, though the gaming test is where most of its advantage comes from – for web browsing and especially video streaming, the S25 Edge comes pretty close. Of course, the S25+ is cheaper but not by much right now – the 512GB models are only $70 apart. Speaking of gaming, the new RedMagic 10S Pro is in the same price range. This one boasts a rectangular 6.85' 144Hz OLED display with an UD camera. It's powered by an actively-cooled Snapdragon 8 Elite, though our testing shows that the fan doesn't do much. Even without it, the 10S Pro is one of the fastest Androids around. That puts it on par with the Watch FE and the Watch7 is better in every way. Plus, the FE is available only in 40mm size, while the Watch7 does have a 44mm option for $45 more. For an adventure-ready watch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra also has a hefty discount. This one is available only in 47mm size and it has LTE connectivity (which is optional on the Watch7).
