Lewers and Rober, who has over 68M YouTube subscribers, go way back, having previously worked together on Discovery series Revengineers, exec produced by Jimmy Kimmel, when Lewers was at the factual cable group.
Lewers exec produced series including Hasbro's Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble for The CW during his time at Lionsgate Alternative. Prior to that, he was at Warner Bros. Discovery, where he oversaw franchise series expansions and tentpole programming at the Discovery channels and Turner networks with series such as Space Launch Live and Skywire Live with Nik Wallenda. In 2020, he was promoted to run the Science Channel following the exit of Marc Etkind.
He also spearheaded the expansion of Discovery & Science Channel's presence on TikTok, making the brands among the firsts to launch on TikTok's STEM tab, which ties in nicely with his new role given CrunchLabs STEM focus.
In his new role, Lewers will help expand CrunchLabs' portfolio of original content, foster collaborations with STEM creators and global talent, and lead the development of educational content and curriculum that can be translated and localized for global classrooms. He will oversee its studio division.
'What I love about Scott is that he gets it—I've worked on big projects with him before and he knows how to tell real stories that make science feel exciting,' said Rober. 'With Scott leading our studio teams, we're building something awesome that spans YouTube, education, and now film & television to reach as many brains as possible.'
'Long before collaborating with Mark on Discovery's Shark Week more than five years ago, I was a fan of his smart, engaging content. I'm thrilled to join Mark, Jim, and the incredible CrunchLabs team to help build on the impressive foundation they've laid', added Lewers. 'Our shared vision and deep passion for accelerating the impact we can have on the future of STEM is what makes this an especially exciting opportunity for me.'
'CrunchLabs is at a pivotal moment,' added Jim Lee, President of CrunchLabs and the Mark Rober YouTube Channel. 'We're growing from YouTube and subscription products to become the leading brand in STEM worldwide. With Scott's leadership, we'll expand our original content production, launch a comprehensive science curriculum for schools, and ignite curiosity and resilience in millions more people.'

Wilmer Valderrama is a dad again

Wilmer Valderrama has become a father for the second time. The 45-year-old actor and his fiancee Amanda Pacheco have announced they welcomed son Wolf Monte, a brother for four-year-old daughter Nakano, into the world earlier this month. The pair shared some black and white photos from hospital, including two pictures of Nakano proudly holding onto her baby brother, in a joint Instagram post to announce the news. It was simply captioned: 'Wolf Monte Valderrama 7/11/2025 [wolf and full moon emojis]." The That 70s Show actor had revealed in April he and Amanda were expecting a baby boy. Speaking on his Dos Amigos podcast, Wilmer told his co-host Freddy Rodriguez: "We're having a boy, and we couldn't be more excited to have the pair." Wilmer added that he and Amanda have already decided on a name but he wanted to let his fiancée share it publicly when she is ready. Wilmer and Amanda previously revealed that Nakano was the first person to know about the new baby. Amanda told People magazine: "She read [the results of the pregnancy test] to Wilmer and I, and she has been shouting it from the mountaintops to every person who comes in her path: 'I'm going to be a big sister!'" Wilmer added that Nakano has also "been so sweet to Amanda, kissing her belly goodbye before going to school and bringing the baby a second teddy bear for bedtime. He added: "We want her to feel such a part of this moment so when the baby gets here she knows this is a moment for her too." Wilmer went on: "Personally, being a girl dad has been the most fulfilling feeling. As an artist, it has also fueled me to make sure she has so many stories in which she sees herself as the hero of her journey! All in all, I was born to be a dad." Amanda shared: "This really has been the most spontaneous adventure of my life and I love that. Every day is quite literally a new experience for not just Nakano but myself too. Nakano has made me love being a mom and I wouldn't want it any other way."

Donald Trump gloats over Late Show with Stephen Colbert axe

Donald Trump "absolutely loves" that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been cancelled. The 61-year-old presenter confirmed that CBS has pulled the plug on his nightly talk show on Thursday (17.07.25), with the final episode set to air in May, and the US president has weighed in on the news, admitting he is delighted that Stephen - who has hosted the programme since 2015 - has been "fired". Trump also couldn't resist taking swipes at two other talk show hosts, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. He wrote on Truth Social: 'I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. 'His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! "[Fox News late night host] Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.' Kimmel has offered support to Stephen in the wake of the cancellation. He wrote on Instagram: 'Love you Stephen. F*** you and all your Sheldons CBS.' And The Tonight Show host Fallon was "shocked" by the news. He wrote on Instagram: "I'm just as shocked as everyone. Stephen is one of the sharpest, funniest hosts to ever do it. I really thought I'd ride this out with him for years to come. I'm sad that my family and friends will need a new show to watch every night at 11:30. But honestly, he's really been a gentleman and a true friend over the years — going back to The Colbert Report, and I'm sure whatever he does next will be just as brilliant." Late Night host Seth Meyers has also expressed his support for Stephen. He said on Instagram: "For as great a comedian and host he is, Stephen Colbert is an even better person. I'm going to miss having him on TV every night but I'm excited he can no longer use the excuse that he's 'too busy to hang out' with me." Stephen announced the axing of The Late Show on Thursday. He said: "Before we start the show, I want to let you know something that I found out just last night. Next year will be our last season, the network will be ending The Late Show in May." Stephen - who replaced David Letterman at the helm in 2015 - added: "I'm not being replaced. This is all just going away. I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners … And I'm grateful to the audience, you, who have joined us every night, in here, out there, and all around the world. "I am extraordinarily, deeply grateful to the 200 people who work here. We get to do this show. We get to do this show for each other every day, all day, and I've had the pleasure and the responsibility of sharing what we do every day with you in front of this camera for the last 10 years."
