Zepto scales fresh supply chain, sells 22 lakh units daily in May

Quick commerce platform Zepto has scaled its fresh produce category, which comprises fruits and vegetables, fourfold in a year. The company sold 22.1 lakh units of produce per day in May this year, compared to 6.4 lakh units sold per day in the corresponding period last year, the co-founder and chief executive of the platform said in a post on LinkedIn.
'Last month, Zepto's supply chain team hit a huge milestone — 22 lakh units of fruits and vegetables sold per day (up from 6.4 lakh last year)! This volume represents one of the largest and most sophisticated fresh supply chains in the country today,' Palicha wrote.
According to the company, a few long-standing challenges in the retail of fresh produce include the overpresence of intermediaries, unpredictable pricing and poor quality produce. However, the company said it could scale because it now works directly with farmers across more than 70 collection centres where produce is graded, packed and dispatched.
'Zepto has achieved this scale through direct sourcing, tech-led procurement and smart last-mile handling — making fresh produce not just faster, but more accessible and affordable. Zepto works directly with thousands of farmers across 70+ collection centres — strategically located hubs where produce is graded, packed and dispatched within 12 hours of harvest,' the company said in a statement.
Sharing the vision for the future, Palicha said fruits and vegetables are the largest category of consumption in the country, and the company aims to build a world-class supply chain at a larger scale over the next 10 years.
Zepto's Bloom app, a proprietary sourcing intelligence platform, offers real-time mandi price benchmarks, automated vendor scoring and dynamic procurement planning. 'This gives farmers transparency, better pricing power and predictability, all of which were missing in the traditional mandi system,' the company said.

Amazon to acquire AI startup Bee that offer wearables to record daily conversations

Image credit: LinkedIn Amazon is set to acquire a startup named Bee that specialises in AI on-wrist devices. In a post shared on social networking site LinkedIn, Bee's CEO Maria de Lourdes Zollo confirmed this and said that this acquisition will 'bring truly personal, agentic AI to even more customers.' Currently, Bee offers a $49.99 Fitbit-like AI-based device to transcribe conversations. This allows the device to generate personalised summaries of daily activities, reminders, and suggestions within the Bee app. Users can also grant the device permission to access their emails, contacts, location, reminders, photos, and calendar events. This data helps inform the AI-generated insights and creates a searchable history of user activities. What Bee CEO said about Amazon's acquisition In her LinkedIn post, Zollo wrote: 'Bee is joining Amazon and we couldn't be more excited! When we started Bee, we imagined a world where AI is truly personal, where your life is understood and enhanced by technology that learns with you. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo What began as a dream with an incredible team and community now finds a new home at Amazon. Ethan and I couldn't think of better partners to help us bring truly personal, agentic AI to even more customers. Thank you to everyone who believed in us: our users, investors, and the entire Bee team. You made this milestone possible. Huge gratitude to Panos Panay and Nick Komorous for championing our vision and guiding us through this journey.' How Bee's AI device works According to a report by The Verge, when tested, the device often misinterpreted background media such as TV shows, TikTok videos, music, and movies as real-life conversations. As per the report, Amazon was also asked about its plans to apply the same privacy measures offered by Bee, such as its policy against storing audio. Responding to this the Amazon's spokesperson, Alexandra Miller, said that the company 'cares deeply' about customer privacy and security. The company also confirmed that it will work with Bee to offer users 'even greater control over' their devices as the deal closes. 'We've been strong stewards of customer data since our founding, and have never been in the business of selling our customers' personal information to others. We design our products to protect our customers' privacy and security and to make it easy for them to be in control of their experience — and this approach would of course apply to Bee,' Miller noted. Miller also added that the terms of the deal are 'confidential,' and that all Bee employees have 'received offers to join Amazon.' Good Glamm breaks up as lenders initiate brand-wise asset sale

Representative image BENGALURU: Good Glamm Group's managing director and CEO Darpan Sanghvi has confirmed that the company will no longer operate as a single consumer goods entity, with lenders now enforcing their charge over individual brands in the portfolio. In a LinkedIn post, Sanghvi said the group structure will be dismantled and assets sold separately, following failed attempts at refinancing, partial brand sales, or raising strategic capital. 'There will no longer be a group-wide solution… the brands will be sold one by one, and will operate individually,' he wrote. The move follows months of financial stress and unsuccessful restructuring talks, marking the end of the group's vision to build a digital-first consumer goods conglomerate through acquisitions. Its portfolio includes brands such as MyGlamm, Organic Harvest, Sirona, St. Botanica, The Moms Co. and BabyChakra. Sanghvi, who has not exited or sold shares in the company, said he would personally allocate 25 per cent of all future earnings, from salary or equity gains, towards settling outstanding employee dues, in the event these are not cleared through the asset sale process. A mechanism for tracking this commitment is expected to be put in place in the coming months, he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like End Season Sale: Special Discount Luxury Watches Buy Now Undo He also said he plans to set up a 'Good Glamm Restitution Fund' within 60 days, backed by equity from future ventures, to address potential losses faced by vendors and investors. Sanghvi acknowledged that the outcome was within the lenders' rights and accepted responsibility for the decisions that led to the group's current position. The company's investors include marquee names such as Warburg Pincus, Amazon, Bessemer Venture Partners, Accel and Prosus. 'Hustle hard or slow down'? Mumbai founder ends the debate with a 2-phase formula

The internet loves to debate whether your twenties should be about mindful pacing or full-throttle hustle. But Mumbai-based founder Vedika Bhaia cuts through the noise with a perspective grounded in real experience — and a rocket analogy you won't forget. 'Think of your career like a rocket launch,' she wrote on LinkedIn. 'You can't break through gravity with a gentle push.' In other words, when you're starting from scratch, slow and steady just doesn't cut it. You need intense, focused effort — the kind that gets your momentum off the ground. But that doesn't mean you keep the throttle at max forever. Her journey wasn't about constant hustle or endless rest — it was about knowing when to push and when to pause. Her "blast phases" were all-in stretches of high energy, like growing her agency from zero to seven figures, creating content consistently for over three years, and upskilling during the COVID lockdowns. Those sprints made all the difference. But just as crucial were her "cruise phases" — taking workcations to recharge, stepping back to avoid burnout, and letting well-built systems keep the business running. According to her, success doesn't come from choosing hustle or ease. It comes from mastering the timing of both. Most people either move too slowly and miss their moment, or they go too fast and flame out. Vedika's advice? Learn to recognise your blast phases. Lean into them when the time is right. And once you've broken through, don't be afraid to cruise.
