14 held in EAGLE decoy operation in Gachibowli
The buyers arrested were identified as Naveen, 31, an online trader; Ayush, 22, a student; Nikhil, 29, an engineer; Sindura, 26, an architect; Hasan, 34, a property manager; Kranti, 28, an IT employee; Akhil, 28, a dental technician; Shiva, 32, a business relationship manager; Sandesh, 34, a freelance ad professional; Sai Raj, 31, a real estate sales executive; Akhil, 26, who runs a travel agency; Swamy, 27, a driver; Thushar, 24, an IT employee; and Arpith, 24, also an IT employee.
During the operation, EAGLE officers in plain clothes positioned themselves around the area based on intelligence about a Maharashtra-based repeat offender named Sandeep, who had been selling marijuana to customers in the IT corridor.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of EAGLE Ch. Rupesh said that Sandeep reportedly arrives with five kilograms of marijuana, split into 100 packets of 50 grams each, selling them for ₹3,000 per packet. 'He keeps a list of over 100 regular customers, including their contact numbers, and uses coded WhatsApp messages like 'bhai baccha a gaya bhai' to announce availability,' explained the SP.
All 14 consumers were caught in the act and tested positive for cannabis on the spot using urine drug test kits. 'One of the accused had come with his wife and four-year-old son. While the woman and child were let off, the man tested positive. In another case, both husband and wife attempted to buy marijuana. Despite the woman initially trying to bluff her way out, both tested positive for cannabis,' added the SP.
EAGLE officers are now analysing digital evidence from seized phones, including WhatsApp logs and contact databases, to identify other buyers and expand the investigation. The 86 remaining regular consumers on Sandeep's list were advised to seek rehabilitation before further enforcement action is taken.

Cyber fraud accused nabbed by Hyderabad police at Mumbai airport
A 43-year-old man wanted in a high-profile digital arrest fraud case was arrested by Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police after immigration officials detained him at Mumbai International Airport. The accused, Aludasu Sudhaker, was nabbed based on a Look Out Circular earlier issued by Hyderabad police. An officer from the cyber crime wing said that Sudhaker, a resident of Saroornagar here, is allegedly part of a racket that orchestrated a sophisticated scam targeting a 48-year-old woman under the pretext of a legal investigation. 'Several others linked to the same racket had already been arrested in December last year. They include Dharavath Rajkumar, a dancer, Kaluvala Abhilash Reddy and Alladi Tharun, both private sector employees, and Gattu Pavan, also working in Hyderabad. All were identified as account suppliers or holders,' said the officer. The case came to light when the victim, a woman, received an automated call on November 12 last year, claiming that her Airtel services would be suspended. She was then transferred through a chain of fraudsters posing as various officials, a woman operator, a DCP and a CBI officer named Rajesh Mishra. They accused her of involvement in a money laundering case linked to Naresh Goyal and claimed that she held illicit bank accounts in Mumbai. The victim, after realising she had been duped, approached the Cyber Crime Police in Hyderabad, prompting the registration of the case under serious sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The group's modus operandi was to impersonate enforcement agencies like the CBI, ED or Customs, allege fictitious criminal cases such as terrorism or narcotics trafficking, and then psychologically corner the victims into draining their financial reserves. Victims were told the money was to be 'deposited with the Supreme Court' to prove their innocence. Police seized a smartphone used in the crime and a Visa Platinum debit card belonging to an absconding Dubai-based accused, Ashok Kumar Javvaji, reportedly running a digital marketing outfit.

International Court Rejects Israel's Request To Withdraw Netanyahu's Arrest Warrant
The Hague: Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Wednesday rejected Israel's request to withdraw arrest warrants against its prime minister and former defence minister while the ICC reviews Israeli challenges to its jurisdiction over the conduct of the Gaza war. In a decision published on the ICC website, judges also rejected an Israeli request to suspend the wider ICC investigation into alleged atrocity crimes in the Palestinian Territories. The ICC issued arrest warrants on November 21 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence chief, Yoav Gallant, as well as a Hamas leader, Ibrahim al-Masri, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict. The court said in February that judges had withdrawn the arrest warrant for al-Masri, also known as Mohammed Deif, following credible reports of his death. Israel rejects the jurisdiction of the Hague-based court and denies war crimes in Gaza, where it has waged a military campaign it says is aimed at eliminating Hamas since the deadly attack on Israel by the militant Palestinian group on October 7, 2023. It is contesting the warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant. Israel has argued that an appeals chamber decision in April ordering the pre-trial chamber to review Israel's objections to the court's jurisdiction means there is no valid jurisdictional basis for the warrants. The judges rejected that reasoning as incorrect, saying on Wednesday that Israel's jurisdictional challenge to the arrest warrants was still pending and the warrants would remain in place until the court ruled on that issue specifically. There is no timeline for a ruling on jurisdiction in this case. In June the United States imposed sanctions on four judges at the ICC, an unprecedented retaliation over the war tribunal's issuance of an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. Two of the sanctioned judges are on the panel that ruled to reject Israel's request to withdraw the warrants. As five more pvt. schools receive bomb threat e-mails, police lens on Germany-based platform
Five private schools in the Capital received bomb threat e-mails on Wednesday morning, which later turned out to be hoaxes but disrupted classes as the schools were evacuated and students sent home. The schools that received bomb threat e-mails are Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, The Mother's International School in Hauz Khas and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodi Estate. St. Thomas School in Dwarka received a hoax bomb threat e-mail on Tuesday as well. Since Monday, 10 educational institutions have received hoax bomb threat e-mails. According to a senior Delhi Police officer, the threat e-mails were received between 4.16 a.m. and 8.12 a.m. 'Richmond Global School was the first to receive the mail around 4.16 a.m., and The Mother's International School the last at 8.12 a.m.,' said the officer. 'Multiple teams from Delhi Fire Services, Delhi Police and Bomb Disposal Squads were rushed to the site. The schools were evacuated and checked thoroughly, but nothing was found,' said the officer. According to the initial investigation, the e-mails were sent from a Germany-based encrypted e-mail service named Tuta Mail. 'The senders used TutaCrypt of Tuta Mail to send those threats,' said the officer. 'The medium used is an open source, end-to-end encrypted and makes it difficult to zero in on the true source,' added the officer. Earlier this year, the Directorate of Education issued standard operating procedures for handling bomb threats in schools, which included the installation of CCTV cameras in and around schools, devising evacuation plans, and conducting regular safety audits and mock drills. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal took to X to attack the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Delhi, saying, 'For the third day in a row, bomb threats have been issued to Delhi schools. Neither Union Home Minister Amit Shah nor the BJP's four-engine governments seem to care about the safety of Delhi's children. The BJP is hell-bent on turning Delhi into a jungle-raj.' Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva had said that it was regrettable that AAP leaders were trying to 'politicise' the issue and 'create tension' in Delhi.
