Rapper Tay-K convicted of murder for the second time after shooting photographer while on the run from police
The 24-year-old artist, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, was already serving a 55-year sentence for a separate deadly shooting. Following his conviction Monday for the killing of 23-year-old photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar in 2017, McIntyre is now facing an additional five to 99 years in prison.
Per the verdict reading in San Antonio, McIntyre was found not guilty of capital murder, which would have meant an automatic life sentence without the chance of parole. However, jurors unanimously agreed to convict him for the lesser charge of murder. The jury will now hear evidence for the sentencing phase of the trial.
An attorney for McIntyre didn't immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly's request for comment Tuesday.
Saldivar was found with a fatal gunshot wound at a Chick-fil-A restaurant across from San Antonio's North Star Mall on April 23, 2017, according to KSAT News. Authorities said McIntyre picked Saldivar up in a car after the photographer asked to take photos of the rapper for a new song. Prosecutors argued that McIntyre shot Saldivar after trying to rob him.
During the trial, McIntyre's attorneys criticized the police investigation of the shooting, alleging that the case relied too much on self-serving statements from witnesses.
"Taymor McIntyre is not guilty of capital murder, murder, or manslaughter, and the reason for that is very simple," John Hunter, a lawyer for McIntyre, told jurors during last week's closing arguments, per the Associated Press. "You have to do it right. You have to do the work. And this case clearly demonstrates the work wasn't done."
McIntyre was previously convicted of murder in 2019, in the death of 21-year-old Ethan Walker during a 2016 home invasion in Mansfield, southeast of Fort Worth.
The fatal shooting of Saldivar took place while McIntyre was on the run from authorities, after allegedly cutting off his ankle monitor while on house arrest.
That led to a nationwide manhunt, during which McIntyre recorded and released "The Race," which went platinum and peaked at No. 44 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The track included such lyrics as "F‑‑ a beat, I was tryna beat a case / But I ain't beat that case, bitch, I did the race" and "Pop a n‑‑‑‑ then I go out my way / Do the dash then I go out the way." In a music video for the song, McIntyre posed beside his own wanted poster.
McIntyre was apprehended in in New Jersey on June 30, 2017 — the same day his music video dropped — and brought back to Forth Worth, according to the Forth Worth Star-Telegram.

‘Project Runway' Is Finally Back—Here's When to Watch
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. Project Runway is officially back for its 21st season. This year, ELLE editor-in-chief Nina Garcia unites with image architect Law Roach on the judging panel, Heidi Klum returns to host, and Christian Siriano mentors the hopeful designers. Together, they're overseeing a new class of ambitious contestants who are ready to deliver bold designs, high-stakes drama, and unforgettable runway moments. Season 21 promises to deliver the excitement and high-fashion storytelling that has defined Project Runway for two decades, with a cast that includes returning alums, a transgender designer, and even a pair of twin brothers. As Klum told People, 'It feels so good to be back—it feels like I never left.' Garcia, who has judged all 21 seasons, reflected on how the series has always mirrored the fashion world's evolution: 'I find it so interesting that the show, much like fashion, is really a reflection of our culture. It's an artistic reflection of what is happening in society—and the show has never shied away from that,' she told Entertainment Weekly. She added that she is 'so proud to be part of it,' recalling moments that sparked conversations beyond the runway, from Mondo Guerra openly discussing his HIV-positive diagnosis in season 8 to the show's embracing of size diversity and trans models in later years. Roach echoed that Project Runway 'has always been on the cusp of cultural change.' Siriano, a former winner himself, praised the designers' ambition this season while speaking to Parade: 'We have some kind of young Gen Z [designers] who are kind of up on what's happening right now. And then we have some older designers. We really have such a good mix of people that, I think, is why it makes it really good. And I think that that, for me, is what I like to see.' 'We have a trans designer on the show, and she is incredible,' Siriano continued. 'And I think her story is incredible, and she's really, really, really talented. And I'm glad that she gets to share her voice and her world, because fashion was her only outlet that she had. So I think there's some great things that this show does that others [don't].' With Klum's homecoming, Roach's unfiltered opinions, and Garcia's impeccable eye, season 21 feels like a celebration of both fashion and the show's legacy. As Garcia put it in a behind-the-scenes Instagram post in March: 'We are soooo back.' The season will feature 10 episodes, beginning with a two-part premiere. Season 21 premieres on Thursday, July 31, with a two-episode kickoff at 9 P.M. ET. New episodes air weekly on Thursdays at 10 P.M. Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce team up with exciting food message
The post Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce team up with exciting food message appeared first on ClutchPoints. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are already embedded in KC culture and history after all they have accomplished on the gridiron. They have each won three Super Bowls, earned multiple All-Pro selections and are considered two of the greatest to ever play the game. Their respective legacies, which will be prominently displayed in Canton, Ohio at the Pro Football Hall of Fame five years after they retire, will forever resonate with the Heart of America. But the two Chiefs stars are not content. They want to make their mark in the food industry as well. Mahomes and Kelce are co-owners of a modern steakhouse called 1587 Prime, which is set to open in downtown Kansas City, Missouri in the near future. Before this big venture officially gets off the ground, the teammates, friends and now business partners got to sample the merchandise. The sensational duo cut into some juicy steaks and savored everything they could get on their plates. The restaurant's official Instagram account conveyed their excitement afterwards. It did not take long for the two entrepreneurs to chime in. 'Coming soon..!!' Mahomes commented on the post. 'Man that food was better than I could have imagined!!' Kelce exclaimed. 'KC get ready baby!!' These franchise pillars are juggling plenty this summer, as they prepare for the 2025-26 NFL campaign. Mahomes and Kelce are both seasoned pros who know how to approach training camp, so fans should not worry about this new endeavor becoming a distraction. Regardless of the inconsistencies they have each weathered on offense the last couple of seasons, the Chiefs legends usually come through when it matters most. They will look to achieve the same success in the restaurant world. 1587 Prime, which combines the players' jersey numbers, is located inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are partnering with Noble 33 to bring what they hope is the next big thing in KC. The expectations are high, but these guy know a little something about handling pressure.
