Boston finalists shut out at James Beard Awards
But the ceremony did give a shoutout to Sullivan's Castle Island, which was named an America's Classics winner in February.
Why it matters: It's the biggest night in the restaurant business.
Driving the news: Jungsik Yim, the veteran chef behind Korean restaurant Jungsik in New York, won the outstanding chef award, beating Sarma's Cassie Piuma.
Brookline's Merai lost to Puerto Rico-based Identidad Cocktail Bar for best new bar.
Sky Haneul Kim of Gift Horse in Providence won the Best Chef: Northeast award, beating Urban Hearth owner Erin Miller and three other finalists.
Yes, but: Brendan and Adrian Sullivan joined the ceremony in Chicago to celebrate their award, four months after winning the James Beard Foundation honors .
"It's so surreal to be in the company that we're in tonight ... It's a 'pinch-me moment,'" Adrian Sullivan tells Axios.

Hulk Hogan's 10 Most Memorable Moments In Wrestling
Hulk Hogan died at 71. Here are his most memorable moments. Hulk Hogan died at 71 on Thursday morning after cardiac arrest. The embattled, controversial and iconic Hall of Famer is arguably the greatest pro wrestler of all time depending on how you define a great pro wrestler. Even without the hardcore wrestling bona fides that befit his less famous contemporaries like Terry Funk, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Roddy Piper and Ric Flair, very few people on planet earth will hear the name Hulk Hogan and not know who he is. Hogan's almost 50-year career in the wrestling business gave way to countless memorable moments. Some polarizing, some timeless, but every one of them was all the above. Hulk Hogan was fired from WWE after pursuing a now-iconic role on Rocky III as Thunderlips. The role launched him into superstardom and made him an instantly recognizable figure, not to mention a draw for Verne Gagne's Minnesota-based wrestling promotion AWA. Hogan left AWA to join Vincent Kennedy McMahon's WWE, where he won his first world championship within months of signing. Hogan's victory over the Iron Sheik is considered the birth of Hulkamania and the beginning of the WWE's national takeover of the wrestling business. Ahead of what would be his most important main event, a tag team match alongside Mr. T at WrestleMania I, Hulk Hogan and Mr. T went on a back-breaking promotional tour to promote WWE's make-or-break showcase. In addition to hosting Saturday Night Live the night before WrestleMania I, Hogan and Mr. T's most infamous stop came during an appearance on Belzer's show Hot Properties. The smarmy talk show host clearly didn't understand pro wrestling, nor did he take it seriously. This clearly miffed Mr. T, who antagonized Belzer throughout the interview. Hogan did his best to remain professional throughout. While demonstrating a basic wrestling hold on Belzer, however, Hogan accidentally choked out the cocky host who went limp and passed out onstage, hitting his head. A clearly disoriented Belzer quickly hopped to his feet and threw to commercial break. The incident would cost WWE a $400,000 settlement after Belzer sued, but this is a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things considering the free press this caused, which helped lead to a successful WrestleMania pay-per-view. Hulk Hogan and WWE's finest hour (to this point) came at the first WrestleMania, WWE's Super Bowl. Compared to what WrestleMania has become, the main event was nothing to write home about. Hogan and Mr. T won via disqualification in a tag team main event. This was the only tag team main event in WrestleMania history until WrestleMania 39, and one of the few WrestleMania main event matches where a world title was not on the line. Still, WWE's accumulation of talent from territories around the country led to a successful event that would change the face of pro wrestling, making the scripted sport mainstream at the expense of regional territories. Ask a wrestling nerd what the best match of WrestleMania III was, and they'll mansplain Randy Savage vs. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. Ask WWE's business manager what the most important match of WrestleMania III was, and they'll tell you Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant. WrestleMania drew a record-breaking crowd—a disputed 93,173 fans in the Silverdome, who witnessed quite possibly the most immortal moment in WWE history. If WrestleMania I was a celebration of a new mainstream wrestling product, WrestleMania III was the coronation. In the night's main event, Hogan slammed Andre the Giant en route to successfully defending his WWE Championship, and wrestling was never the same. One of Hulk Hogan's most polarizing moments came at the end of WrestleMania IX. In a post-Hogan era, where Hogan and WWE seemingly parted ways, the event struggled to sell tickets in Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace. As WWE's biggest show of the year drew closer, WWE had no choice but to break the red-and-yellow emergency glass case and book Hulk Hogan. This was Hogan's ninth consecutive WrestleMania, and it was memorable for a host of reasons. Hogan showed up sporting a gnarly black eye after a Jet Ski accident, an incident that is the subject of pro wrestling lore as some fans believed the injury was due to a physical altercation with Randy Savage. Savage playfully fed into these rumors while on commentary during the event. Hogan and Brutus the Barber Beefcake failed to win the Tag Team Titles in another WrestleMania tag team match featuring Hogan with a DQ finish. But this was far from the most memorable moment of the evening. Hogan resurfaced following Yokozuna's heel win over Bret Hart to capture his first WWE Championship. After Mr. Fuji, Yokozuna's manager, challenged Hogan to a world title match on behalf of Yokozuna, Hogan jumped at the opportunity and beat the superheavyweight in a matter of seconds. Fans in Caesar's Palace went crazy for the moment live, but many hardcore fans who had grown tired of Hogan's act consider this—well—a black eye on the history of WrestleMania. As WWE unceremoniously moved on from Hulk Hogan in the '90s, this time for real, Hogan took his talents to WCW where he got a new lease on life. The massive signing was celebrated with a red-and-yellow parade at Disney-MGM Studios, and Hogan's WCW pay-per-view debut featured the likes of Mr. T and Shaquille O'Neal. Hogan won his debut, capturing the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in a win over Ric Flair. Perhaps the most infamous heel turn in pro wrestling history came at Bash at the Beach in 1996. The bloom had come off the rose as far as Hogan's drawing power as a babyface. After over two decades of telling young fans to say their prayers and eat their vitamins, the world had become more edgy and cynical in the '90s. As had pro wrestling. Hogan shrewdly leaned in to American counterculture by aligning with heel outsider faction the New World Order, switching out the red and yellow for black and white. In 2025, whitemeat babyface had a similar heel turn, causing ubiquitous debates of whether or not this was better than Hogan's heel turn almost 20 years later. It wasn't. During Hulk Hogan's comeback in 2002, he initially returned as the charter member of the NWO that he was during the group's rise in the '90s. But the Hogan fatigue that forced him to turn heel in 1996 was replaced with fan nostalgia inside the SkyDome, where he headlined WrestleMania VI against the Ultimate Warrior. Though Hogan was supposed to be a heel, fans in Toronto vehemently cheered Hollywood Hogan, causing somewhat of a double-turn within the match. Hogan would eventually succumb to The Rock, but received a curtain call from the stadium in quite possibly the most unfollowable match in WrestleMania history. Hulk Hogan's nostalgic run in 2002 was punctuated with his first WWE Championship win in nine years. Now wearing his vintage Hulkamaniac colors, Hollywood Hulk Hogan defeated Triple H at WWE Backlash, becoming one of the oldest active wrestlers to win the WWE Championship in history. Hulk Hogan's final appearance on WWE television was memorable for all the wrong reasons. During Raw's debut on Netflix in Inglewood, Hulk Hogan marched out to Intuit Dome to a chorus of boo's. The broadcast was supposed to be a celebration of WWE's past, present and future, but fans in the historically Black enclave still had not forgiven Hogan for his racist remarks made during a leaked sex tape in 2015. Despite a clumsy apology tour, Hogan was never able to completely shake his darkest moment. His otherwise incomparable legacy will forever be stained by his hateful remarks about Black people.

The key to a happy relationship? For some couples, it's living apart: 'Trust, honesty and humour'
Newlywed actor Jack Wagner's relationship recently made headlines when he shared that he and his new wife plan to continue to live separately. While some fans were shocked by this seemingly unconventional living arrangement, it's not actually that uncommon at all. While several celebrity couples, including Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden, have touted the benefits of sleeping in separate rooms, living apart together — or LAT for short — takes things one step further. And research shows more couples are choosing to live separately for the long haul. A 2017 survey showed that 1.5 million Canadians were in a relationship and living in different homes, and around half of them had either never thought of living together or had made the choice not to. New research from the U.K. also found that older adults in LAT relationships had better mental health than those who lived with their partner or spouse. June*, a 72-year-old from Richmond Hill, Ont., is an example of someone who, along with her 71-year-old partner Ed*, made the choice to live apart. They've been happily doing so ("with some ups and downs," like all couples) for almost 43 years. I don't know what makes it work so well. We just knew that we were going to commit ourselves to a relationship and we felt like as long as we had trust, honesty and humour in our relationship we would make 72, who's lived separately from her partner for 40+ years June, who admits to being "old school," said she knew very early on that she didn't want children, so she never felt the need to get married. As for Ed, she noted she knew from the get-go that he had no interest in marrying again after a divorce. Still, they committed to being together while continuing to have their own homes, which happen to be in different towns roughly a 40-minute drive apart. The key to making it work after all these years? Trust and communication. "I don't know what makes it work so well." she said. "We just knew that we were going to commit ourselves to a relationship and we felt like as long as we had trust, honesty and humour in our relationship we would make it. So, here we are." As for any plans to live together down the road as they continue to age? She doesn't see that happening. "I don't think so, because now we're starting to get crochety," she added with a laugh, pointing out how other couples often struggle once they're retired and home together all the time and complain that their spouse is "driving them crazy." What exactly is living apart together? Unlike living apart from your partner because you're A) not ready to move in together yet, B) have separated or C) have logistical challenges, like distance or work, LAT is a commitment rather than circumstantial. Couples choose to maintain a romantic relationship — whether married or not — while actively choosing to live in separate households. Many of them do this to maintain independence. What are the benefits of couples living apart? We asked Toronto-based sexologist, Jess O'Reilly, who's also the host of the "Sex With Dr. Jess" podcast, to weigh in on how living apart can benefit couples. Being more intentional about how you spend time together While date nights can be few and far between when you live together, O'Reilly noted that if you live separately, you may be more likely to plan your time together and choose "activities that spark relaxation, joy, connection and passion." Reduced conflict It's no secret that common-law and married couples often fight about the mundane aspects of sharing a household, like chores and expenses. Depending on your arrangement, if you're not sharing a space, you may be less likely to argue about these things — if at all. The benefits of absence You've heard the old adage that absence makes the heart grow fonder. When living apart, "you may experience greater desire for touch, affection, physical intimacy and sex because it's not always available to you," she explained. Better communication Couples who live apart may engage in "more open and intentional communication," the sexologist noted, as "you don't simply pass one another in the kitchen every morning, so you may be more inclined to make time for important conversations." In the end, she said if it works for you, don't worry about what anyone else thinks: "Don't let anyone else's opinion sway you. If LAT works for you, relish in your arrangement. Proximity doesn't determine relationship quality, so rest assured that you can benefit from both time together and time apart." How couples can make the most of living apart If you're considering living apart, or are already doing it, O'Reilly shared some tips and tricks to keep your relationship running smoothly. And even if you live together? You can still use these tips to help your relationship flourish. Support is key "Support one another's autonomy and growth, as self-expansion theory suggests we're most fulfilled in relationships when we're supported to grow and evolve," O'Reilly said. Judgment-free zone "Check in regularly, as your needs and desires can shift over time. Ongoing conversations create connection and can also reduce conflict," she advised, adding that "you don't have to commit to one arrangement for the entire course of the relationship. ... If your feelings change, create space to share without judgment." Moments of togetherness "Create rituals of connection, like date night, shared hobbies, video chats and sleepovers," O'Reilly added. "Predictable — and unpredictable — moments of togetherness can help you to maintain intimacy, foster anticipation and enrich the emotional bond over time."

Teen cuts off adoptive parents after they skip her high school graduation — to buy Labubu for their biological daughter: ‘Ridiculous'
This is real Labubu lunacy A teenage girl has revealed on Reddit that she 'ran away' from her adoptive parents after they missed her high school graduation to buy their biological daughter a Labubu. Labubus, pint-sized plush creatures created by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung, have become the hottest toys on the planet this summer, sparking global shopping frenzies — and it seems moms and dads are immune from the craze. 3 A girl's adoptive parents missed her graduation to buy their biological daughter a Labubu. Posting to the 'Am I An A–hole' subreddit, the adopted and anonymous 18-year-old said she knew the situation 'sounded so ridiculous and insane,' but she wanted Redditors' opinions. For background, she explained that she was adopted as a baby and her parents didn't think they could have children, but eight years later they got pregnant with a 'miracle' child, referred to as Princess. 'Everything changed. Princess was spoiled and clearly the favorite. She never got in trouble, was always right, got WHATEVER she wanted and acted HOWEVER she wanted,' the poster shared. 'My parents didn't treat me badly, though, but if I got one toy, Princess got five. It sucked, I was jealous, and I got in trouble for it.' Princess allegedly started to get worse when she was six when she 'realized how much she could get away with.' This prompted the original poster to do what she could to avoid her. 'Now I have a car and a boyfriend (since sophomore year). I stay with him a lot and his family loves me so I'm barely home, maybe 24 hours at most weekly,' she said. Her graduation day was the final straw for her as it was 'one of the few things I asked my parents to come to.' The Redditor was excited for the milestone celebration until Princess 'had to ruin it.' 'See her current obsession are these doll plush keychains called Labubus, she collects them and that specific day, she found this super rare one for sale in our city,' the girl explained. 3 The 'super rare' Labubu the parents purchased for Princess was allegedly $350. REUTERS/Go Nakamura 'Now instead of contacting the seller and buying it the next day, my parents went to go get it,' she continued 'Then they showed up so late, our caps were already being tossed.' The Labubu the parents purchased for Princess was allegedly $350 — while the high schooler got $150 for her grad gift. After graduation, she went home with her boyfriend and 'basically moved in with him.' 'I was hurt,' the Redditor explained. 'My parents called, texted, apologized, even came over and begged me to forgive them, worst part of it all, they think it's the money and sent me another hundred dollars. I refused to talk to them.' She said the situation has now escalated to her parents 'threatening to report me as missing/ a runaway and contact my future college if I don't go back home.' Many Reddit users agreed that she was justified in her actions. 'Sibling favoritism is so crazy to me and i think it's so unfair to the one being treated poorly. The fact that they only thought it was about the money speaks high volumes about their character,' one person wrote. 'Been there, yo. People don't realize how much the 'little things' build up over time. You don't have to accept the bare minimum just 'cause it's coming from family. You deserve effort, too,' another shared. 3 Her graduation day was the final straw for her as it was 'one of the few things I asked my parents to come to.' paepae stocker – Another said that the parents 'prioritized a toy over your graduation.' 'That's incredibly hurtful and dismissive. That's not a small mistake, that's a loud message about where you stand in their priorities,' the person said. Many also noted that because the Redditor is now 18, she's legally an adult and can move out if she wants to. Multiple people suggested she get ahead of it, contacting the local police department and her college to let them know the situation.
