Logan Paulsen grades Commanders 2024 draft class

Yahoo08-02-2025
Logan Paulsen is always a good listen, and he did not disappoint grading the Commanders' rookie class.
Paulsen and Craig Hoffman broke down the 2024 class in an episode of their "Take Command" podcast this week.
For now, Commanders Wire will provide selected summary statements by Paulsen. Here is the episode in full.
Jayden Daniels (Rd 1, 2) "The number one thing for me was his consistency...The amount of work each week to get back to that pinnacle...for him to come back each and every week and trust the process was impressive."
Jer'Zhan Newton (Rd 2, 36) "At times he was physically outmatched...I am excited to see him in year two with a full offseason...I do think you see the work ethic, the physical play."
Mike Sainristil (Rd 2, 50) "What Sainristil did this year can't be overstated...The flexibility he brought to the defense...he embodies what it means to be a Commander...he's a special football player."
Ben Sinnott (Rd 2, 53) "You see the athlete, the physicality, the want-to...he is not the underneath route running winner that Zach Ertz is...at times he had a lack of awareness in the run game."
Brandon Coleman (Rd 3, 67) "He probably exceeded expectations playing tackle...he has moved from guard to tackle at TCU...he's a good athlete...He is for sure a starting NFL offensive lineman."
Luke McCaffrey (Rd 3, 100) "He is not yet a great separator; only played receiver two years previously...he competes, he's tough...he's a bigger body guy...what is his role next year?"
Jordan Magee (Rd 5, 139) "He's got that competitive dog...was injured in preseason then again in season...I'm excited for him to get healthy and play...
Dominique Hampton (Rd 5, 161) "was learning a new position, being converted from safety down to linebacker...might not ever play in the NFL..
Javontae Jean-Baptiste (Rd 7, 222) "like his length, play strength...for a 7th round pick to be in the mix for playing time next year that is a good thing...he's a nice find (at 222).
Tyler Owens (UFA) "A special teams maniac...that may be how he makes his NFL money"
Colson Yankoff (UFA) "Another maniac, fast, big, strong...really covered kicks well... Yankoff and Owens have roles for next year"

Cleveland Browns General Manager Is Getting Destroyed After Latest Player Arrest

Cleveland Browns General Manager Is Getting Destroyed After Latest Player Arrest originally appeared on The Spun. The last few offseasons haven't been the easiest for Browns fans to stomach and this one didn't get any easier with Saturday's news. Advertisement After selecting Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins with the 36th overall pick in the second round, the rookie running back was arrested on serious domestic violence charges that allege he touched/struck and battered a victim. A Browns spokesperson has said the franchise is aware of the situation and is "gathering information." But its GM Andrew Berry that's found himself directly in the crosshairs of the Cleveland faithful online. "The Deshaun Watson failure should have been the end of Andrew Berry's tenure here," a user said. "Second consecutive offseason one of Andrew Berry's draft picks is arrested and charged following an alleged domestic violence incident," Daryl Ruiter shared. "Also should note, Judkins has yet to sign his rookie contract." Advertisement "questions should be asked about these Andrew Berry background checks," a fan commented. "also 2nd time this has happened with someone with a 'clean' record out of Columbus, we should also ask about Ryan Day too, this pattern is smaller scale but similar to his mentor." "Andrew Berry has had more draft picks get arrested than the Browns will have wins this year," another person posted. "Andrew berry legitimately might be the worst gm of all time. His track record is crazy," another fan pointed out. "Absolutely sick & tired of Andrew Berry drafting guys who are abusers," a member of the Dawg Pound replied. "His resume now includes Deshaun Watson, Mike Hall & Quinshon. Like, at some point, it has to matter dude. I'm so tired of it. I get you don't always know- but it's a recurring theme." 'He's Done' - Fans React To NFL Running Back's Arrest On Saturday

'He's Done' - Fans React To NFL Running Back's Arrest On Saturday originally appeared on The Spun. One NFL rookie running back has made his road to getting on the field a lot harder for himself. Though given the charges, it's a bit hard to sympathize. Advertisement On Saturday, Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins was arrested in Broward County, Florida on charges of battery and domestic violence. Further details on the crime he's been booked for are not currently available. He is still in jail as of writing and his initial court appearance will be on Sunday morning. "Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins was arrested on a domestic violence and battery charge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Saturday, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police department and Broward County arrest records," ESPN's Daniel Ayefusi wrote. "Judkins was still in jail as of Saturday night and scheduled to have his initial court appearance Sunday morning, according to court records." Judkins was the No. 36 overall pick by the Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft. He was a record-breaking running back Ole Miss between 2022 and 2023 and helped the Ohio State Buckeyes win a national title in 2024. Advertisement But the domestic violence charges against him have caused the support and respect that Judkins has previously had to evaporate. Across social media, Judkins has been either condemned or mocked by fans in the hours since the news broke. "Dude was so in position. On-field, off-field and fantasy. Then this," one user lamented. "Oooof. And he's unsigned right? There goes that $. For sure lost any leverage he might've had," wrote another. "Geez - first draft pick to be cut," a third predicted. "You have your entire life in front of you and you fumble it." "He's done. Advertisement "What a dumbass. On the verge of becoming a multimillionaire." Quinshon Judkins© Ken Blaze-Imagn Images The Browns used one of the picks they received in the blockbuster Day 1 trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars to bring him into the fold. But like many second-round picks in this year's draft, he remains unsigned due to a dispute over the guaranteed money in the deal. As some online have pointed out, Judkins' arrest is going to send any leverage he might have in negotiations up in smoke. At this point he'll be lucky if he's even allowed to play football in Week 1, let alone if he's being paid the amount he wants. Advertisement Judkins' entire career could be in jeopardy before the first whistle of training camp. 2025 Arizona Cardinals training camp roster preview: TE Trey McBride

We will preview every player on the Cardinals roster leading up to training camp. This is about TE Trey McBride. The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team. Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook. This focuses on tight end Trey McBride. Trey McBride background, 2024 season McBride enters his fourth NFL season, all with the Cardinals. He was a second-round pick in 2022 out of Colorado State. In three years, he has become one of the premier pass-catching tight ends in the NFL. After 29 receptions for 291 yards as a rookie, he set the franchise single-season record for receptions by a tight end with 81 in 2023 to go with 825 yards and three touchdowns. He bested that in 2024, catching 111 passes, setting a new record, for 1,146 yards (the second-highest single-season total by a tight end) and two touchdowns. He was selected as a Pro Bowler for the first time in his career. Trey McBride 2025 contract details, cap hit This offseason, he signed a four-year, $76 million contract extension, becoming the highest-paid tight end in league history, at least for a couple of weeks until the 49ers' George Kittle signed a larger deal. He got a $16.75 million signing bonus and will make a fully guaranteed salary of more than $5.4 million in 2025. His cap hit will be less than $9.6 million. Questions he faces, roster outlook There is no question about his roster outlook. He is a lock for the roster and is the unquestioned TE1 in the offense. The only questions he faces for the upcoming season are 1) can he keep up the rate of his production and 2) can he take the next step and produce touchdowns? He only has six receiving touchdowns in his career and only had two last season. He did rush for a score and recover a fumble in the end zone for another, but to be one of the greats, he has to find his way more consistently into the end zone.
