According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), strong surface winds reaching up to 40 kmph, along with thunderstorms and lightning, kept the weather relatively pleasant despite high humidity.
Daytime temperatures remained below the seasonal average, with the maximum between 32 degrees Celsius and 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum hovering around 24 degrees Celsius to 26 degrees Celsius. Winds from the southeast picked up in the afternoon and eased by night.
The IMD forecasts partly cloudy skies and light showers over the next two days, with temperatures ranging between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. July 16 and 17 are likely to see isolated rain and thunder, offering brief evening relief.
Delhi airport issued a travel advisory due to sudden rain and gusty winds, advising passengers to check flight statuses and prefer Metro travel. This stretch of mild, breezy weather is expected to continue, even as other parts of northern and central India brace for heavy rain.

Pragati Maidan received 24.3 mm of rain, Ayanagar, 15.5 mm, Safdarjung, 15.8 mm, and Palam, 8.5 mm. Gurgaon also witnessed similar traffic chaos owing to the heavy rains. On Monday, the weather office had issued a Yellow alert for Delhi-NCR, predicting light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds (30-50 kmph) across all four regions — northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast Delhi, during the evening hours between 5.50 pm and 8 pm. Earlier this week, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed concern over the waterlogging situation across the city and directed officials of the concerned departments to take immediate and effective measures to address the issue. She emphasised the importance of ensuring public convenience during the monsoon season, according to an ANI report. This year, the monsoon arrived eight days early in India, bringing heavy rainfall and flooding in several cities, disrupting daily life in many areas. They also added that passengers can check their flight statuses on the Indigo app or their website, and leave accordingly. SpiceJet Travel Advisory: SpiceJet Airlines, in their post, said 'Due to bad weather (heavy rains) in Mumbai (BOM), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected.' Adding on they also requested the passengers to check their flight status beforehand at the Spicejet website and prepare accordingly.
