Product Description
However, before shoppers take the leap, tech expert David Snelling did advise that those with an iPhone 15 Pro or similar may not need to make the upgrade.
He explained: "These are great iPhones but if you have an iPhone 15 Pro in your pocket there's probably not enough here to warrant an upgrade especially as those 2023 devices will also get Apple Intelligence via a software update.
"That said, if you haven't upgraded in a while and want the best iPhone of the bunch then the 16 Pro and Pro Max are top-notch call makers that will be contenders for phone of the year."
Additionally, by the end of the contract, customers will have spent £1260 on the flagship phone - and this is without adding on a data package.
Alternatively, Carphone Warehouse is currently holding a deal on the iPhone 16 Pro through ID Mobile. In a 24-month contract, shoppers will need to pay £39.99 a month, with an upfront cost of £19. However, this deal includes a data package of 500GB with unlimited calls and texts.
For those happy with a more simplified model of the flagship phone, Amazon has dropped the price of the iPhone 16e down from £699 down to £594 as part of its Prime Day event. With 256GB of storage, this phone was released back in February this year and is available in black or white.
Over on Amazon, the iPhone 16 Pro Max currently has a 4.4 star rating from shoppers, with some reviewers praising it for its 'outstanding display' and improved battery life.
One happy shopper said: "The iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB in Black Titanium is an absolute powerhouse, delivering everything you'd expect from a top-tier flagship and more.
"The A18 Pro chip makes every task feel effortless, whether it's multitasking, gaming, or editing high-resolution videos. Everything runs incredibly smoothly, and the efficiency improvements are noticeable, especially in battery life."
However, another shopper noted: "While Apple Intelligence shows promise, it feels a bit unpolished in its current state. Some features are hit-or-miss, and I occasionally experience lag when using more intensive AI features. The A18 Pro chip is blazing fast for most tasks, but I've noticed it can get quite warm during extended gaming sessions."
On the flip side, a five-star reviewer commented: "The iPhone 16 Pro max has been amazing so far, the display is outstanding with many colours which makes it good for watching videos or viewing high quality photos.
"The battery seems to last for a few days without having to recharge it but I'm not constantly on it so not sure how long it will last if you'll be on it more frequently than me. The phone is easy to use and navigate to find what I need."

Review: ESR MagSafe Charger stand MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank
Review: ESR MagSafe Charger stand MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank Keep your Apple devices charged at home and on the move Keeping devices charged is a bane of modern life, but ESR has released a couple of products to make things easier. First up is the ESR MagSafe Charger stand, which can power up to three Apple devices at the same time. You can place your iPhone vertically or horizontally via a strong magnetic lock and get 15W fast charging, while there is a spot on the base for 5W charging for AirPods. To the rear is the clever bit. An Apple Watch charger that doubles as a small, portable USB-C charger so you can enjoy tangle-free magnetic wireless charging for your watch anytime, anywhere. Compatible with all future Apple updates, according to ESR it charges an iPhone 16 Pro in under two hours, while the stand is at a comfortable angle for FaceTiming or watching videos as you charge. The charger has Cryoboost which keeps your phone nice and cool even when charging at maximum speed. Overall, it's a decent stand at a decent price and would look very much at home in a home office or a bedroom. The ESR 3-in-1 Wireless Charger Stand is available for £109,99 (usually less) via Amazon. What users say "It's a great product, though the charging speed is slower than official apple products it still is useful if you need to charge your phone, watch and airpods all in one during your sleep." "Straight out-of-the-box this is a smart-looking solution and works like a dream. I noticed just how much stronger the magnetic force is compared to my previous charger and it's not yet failed to charge my phone when placed on the charging pad." For more versatile power, the ESR Qi2 MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank brings you 10,000mAh in a not-too-chunky form. As you can tell by the name, it has a handy little kickstand at the back, although what I appreciated the most is the LED display that shows you the charge as a percentage rather than the little white lights you usually get. As well as fast charging, the device comes with the same Cryoboost tech to keep things cool on the move. The Qi2 MagSlim Kickstand Power Bank is avilable via the ESR website for £45.04. DWP benefit payments may be cut by 15% in certain circumstances
The Department for Work and Pensions only approves these deductions in very specific circumstances Universal Credit and Pension Credit serve as vital financial support for many in the UK. However, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) warns that claimants may face cuts worth between 5% and 15% in very exceptional circumstances. These reductions, known as 'third-party deductions', occur when a benefits recipient has outstanding debts such as court fines, rent, Council Tax, or energy bills. Typically, these are made at a fixed rate until the debt is cleared, with a cap of three concurrent debts being repaid through this process. For those on Universal Credit, each debt incurs a 5% deduction from their benefit payment, although this can rise to between 10% and 15% for rent arrears. Claimants of other benefits like income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and Income Support might also experience a weekly cut of £4.55 per debt. The DWP usually approves third-party deductions at the request of an organisation to which money is owed after other recovery methods have failed. Advice from the Government department explains: "You'll be told how much will be deducted by letter or in your Universal Credit journal." According to the Mirror, it also adds: "If you want to pay more than the fixed rate towards your debts, you must arrange this with the organisation you owe money to." Brits struggling with 'fuel debt'—the money owed for gas and electricity—can also refer to the process as Fuel Direct when setting up deductions to cover their energy use. The DWP advises: "Contact your supplier to set up deductions for your ongoing bills. They'll need your consent to request this for you. You can give consent on the phone. It does not need to be in writing. "Agree an amount with them that covers the cost of the energy you use. You can stop deductions for ongoing bills at any time. Contact the office that pays your benefit to request this. If you choose to stop making gas and electricity payments, contact your energy supplier to arrange a different way to pay. READ MORE: Rare 1979 toy figure set to fetch up to £5,000 at auction "If you want to change the amount you pay, contact your supplier. If you owe money but cannot afford more deductions to your benefits, your supplier can tell you what help is available for people on low incomes. They may be able to arrange a different way for you to pay." In cases where Brits disagree with the deductions made from their benefits, they are entitled to ask for a mandatory reconsideration. The DWP specifies that such requests need to be lodged within one month of the decision, along with a 'good reason' for the dispute. This may include the following instances: "Some decisions cannot be reconsidered. Others can go straight to an appeal," the DWP adds. "Your original decision letter will say if this applies to you."
