Gardaí investigating after unexplained death of man in Co Kerry

Gardaí are investigating 'all of the circumstances' following the unexplained death of a man found unresponsive outside a premises in Kilgarvan, Co Kerry in the early hours of the morning. An area has been sealed off.
At about 4am gardaí were notifiedthat a man in his 70s, had been brought to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee. He had earlier been found unresponsive outside a Church Street premises in Kilgarvan and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The State Pathologist and the local coroner have been notified. A postmortem has been arranged, the outcome of which will determine the course of the investigation.

The grim find was made at a house in Carrick-On-Suir in the early hours of Monday morning. It's understood the man's body was found in his home in the Cregg Road area of the town at around 3.30am. Sources have told the Irish Mirror concern had been raised for the welfare of a man after he had not been seen for several days. Sources tell us the man is from the area. Gardai say they are awaiting the results of a post mortem on the remains of the dead man, who was in his 40s. But sources have confirmed to the Irish Mirror that investigators are treating his death as suspicious. One source told us: 'He was found after not being seen for a few days. He was in a pool of blood. At the moment his death is being treated as suspicious subject to the post mortem.' The house was sealed off on Monday and gardai were carrying out a search of the property. Gardai confirmed the man's death in a statement on Monday afternoon. 'At approximately 3.30am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a male in his 40s was found unresponsive at a residence in Carrick-On-Suir, Co. Tipperary. 'He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. The scene has been preserved for technical examination. The Coroner has been notified. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course. Officers have also appealed for anyone with information to contact Clonmel Garda Station - including anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area over a three-day period. The force said: 'Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information related to this incident to come forward, including any road users who were in the area of Cregg Road, Carrick-On-Suir, Co Tipperary, between 8pm on Friday 1st August 2025, and 3.30am on Monday 4th August 2025. Man arrested as part of investigation into fatal stabbing of Mark Carroll in Finglas

Gardaí have arrested a man as part of their investigation into the suspected murder of Mark Carroll (34) in Dublin more than a year ago. Mr Carroll (34) was stabbed to death following an argument in the Scribblestown area of Finglas on June 9th, 2024. The incident happened while Mr Carroll, a father of two, was visiting a house. He was socialising with a number of people when the argument broke out. A suspect was quickly identified. However, he had fled the area and efforts to locate him were unsuccessful until this week. READ MORE He has a number of serious criminal convictions and was recently released from prison. Both men were known to each other but were not related. One line of investigation was that the suspect fled to the UK following the attack. On Monday, gardaí issued a statement confirming they have a arrested a suspect. The man, aged in his 30s, is being held for questioning at a Garda station in Dublin under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. He can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
