
EV 2025 : Funding futures, battery innovation drive India's EV ambitions
Chennai, June 28 (UNI) The day 2 of Entrepreneur India EV 2025 unfolded with high-octane Sessions, power-packed panels, and bold ideas aimed at accelerating India's electric mobility revolution.
The conversations revolved around the transformative potential of collaborative financing, battery innovation, and policy-powered disruption--clearly underlining that India's EV dream is not just alive but charging forward.
The day commenced with an insightful keynote address titled 'From 2 to 20 million: India's Ambitious EV Journey' delivered by Mr. Mahesh Babu, Global CEO, Switch Mobility.
Setting the tone, he said 'India is not just adapting to change—we're driving it. From policy breakthroughs to grassroots innovation, the momentum in our mobility and technology sectors is unstoppable. But to reach the next milestone, we need more than just investment—we need intent, collaboration, and bold execution.'
Addressing the summit Ms. Ashita Marya, CEO, Franchise India said 'India's EV journey is no longer about catching up—it's about leading with purpose. What we witnessed today is a powerful convergence of innovation, finance, and entrepreneurship. At Franchise India, we believe the future belongs to those who not only build sustainable solutions but also scalable ecosystems. EV 2025
is a clear reflection of that vision taking shape.'
This was followed by a forward-thinking panel discussion: 'Unlocking the Future of EV Funding: Collaborative Funding, Technological Innovation, and Economic Impact.'
Ms. Vasudha Madhavan, Founder and CEO of Ostara Advisors, moderated the panel, which featured Mr. Kunal Mundra, CEO & Founder, Astranova Mobility, Mr. Nandagopal R, President and National Business Head - Green Finance, Shriram Finance, Ms. Akanksha Sharma, AVP, Green Finance, Namdev Finvest, Ms. Nehal Gupta, Founder and MD, AMU Leasing Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Dev Arora, Founder and CEO, Alt Mobility.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Vasudha Madhavan observed, 'In the last decade, we've watched India's EV ecosystem evolve from an idea to an industry. But today, capital isn't just a resource—it's the missing building block that can either make or break innovation.'
Panelists emphasized the urgency of building trust, inclusivity, and accessibility within green finance. Ms. Akanksha Sharma noted, 'Financial inclusivity isn't just a metric—it's a mindset… we must look beyond documents and credit scores and start funding intention. That's how we unlock real, scalable impact.'
Ms. Nehal Gupta said 'Capital is our raw material—and yet accessing it remains our biggest challenge. It's not enough to build assets; we need to build belief—in the model, in the mission,
and in the future.'
A deep-dive panel on battery technology followed, exploring the theme: 'Transforming Battery Manufacturing: Advanced Chemistries, AI, and Regulatory Dynamics.'
In a powerful insight, Guru Punghavan, CEO, Boson Cell said 'Our initial venture was to recycle
end-of-life batteries and retrieve the salts. Now, we've vertically integrated into cell manufacturing, which lets us produce low-cost lithium-ion cells—potentially even more cost-effective than Chinese cells in the EV sector.'
As the event concluded its second day, EV 2025 continued to serve as a vital platform for thought leadership, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.
With impactful dialogues and clear calls to action, the expo reaffirmed India's growing momentum toward sustainable mobility solutions.

Shah inaugurates National Turmeric Board in Telangana
Nizamabad (Telangana), June 29 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the National Turmeric Board in Nizamabad district of Telangana on Sunday, marking a significant step towards supporting turmeric farmers and boosting exports. On the occasion, he also unveiled the official logo of the board, symbolising a new era of agricultural innovation and global competitiveness for turmeric cultivation in India. Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah reaffirmed the Centre's commitment to the welfare of turmeric farmers, noting that Nizamabad is regarded as the turmeric capital of the country. 'I feel fortunate to inaugurate the Turmeric Board, which became a reality thanks to the persistent efforts of BJP MPs. Not only was the board granted to Telangana, but a Telangana native has also been appointed as its chairman,' he said. Shah highlighted turmeric's global significance, calling it a 'divine medicine' with anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-cancer properties. 'Our target is to achieve USD 1 billion in turmeric exports by 2030. Through this board, we will train farmers in modern cultivation techniques and work to improve their incomes through initiatives like the Bharati Cooperative Society,' he added. Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and MP Dharmapuri Arvind for sanctioning the National Turmeric Board for Nizamabad, a region known for its large-scale turmeric cultivation. Several dignitaries attended the event, including Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Nizamabad district in-charge Minister Seethakka, National Turmeric Board Chairman Palle Gangareddy, Secretary Bhavani Sri, MP Dharmapuri Arvind, Dr. Laxman, and Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the National Turmeric Board will work to ensure that farmers receive maximum value for their turmeric, promote its consumption in international markets, and highlight the medicinal properties of Indian turmeric globally. The board will focus on meeting global quality and safety standards, facilitate suitable packaging, and provide training and skill development to farmers, especially in harvesting methods that avoid export-related issues. Shah added that research and development will be undertaken to scientifically showcase the health benefits of turmeric to the world. He noted that Nizamabad, Jagtial, Nirmal, and Kamareddy districts in Telangana are among India's top turmeric-producing regions. In 2025, turmeric farmers received Rs 18,000 to Rs 19,000 per quintal, and efforts are being made to help them earn an additional Rs 6,000–Rs 7,000 per quintal over the next three years. Shah also highlighted that during 2023- 24, turmeric was cultivated on 3 lakh hectares of land across India, producing 10.74 lakh tonnes. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established the National Cooperative Exports Limited to benefit farmers involved in exports and the National Cooperative Organics Limited for those practising organic farming. Emphasising the government's commitment to promises, Shah remarked that 'Prime Minister Modi has nurtured a culture of fulfilling promises, and the promise made in 2023 has been fulfilled today.' Emergency like situation for traders in UP: Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow, June 29(UNI) Claiming that emergency like situation prevails in Uttar Pradesh for the trader community, Samajwadi Party president alleged that the BJP government is working to increase the profit of middlemen at the expense of the traders. He said that BJP people are earning profits while the condition of traders is not good in the state. "Under the BJP's donation policy, traders are being charged," he told media persons here today. SP President alleged that there is a demand for advance commission for granting loans in the state to the traders and the way the tax system has been imposed, the traders are being cheated. 'False GST notices are being sent to traders while Rs 50,000 commissions have to be paid for Rs 50 lakh loan by the traders,' he further alleged. "Only settlement Policy is running in BJP. Whenever the businessman raises his voice, raids are conducted against him to crush his voice. The SP people will work to protect the traders from the officials and in the 2027 assembly elections, traders will support the SP" Akhilesh Yadav said. He said that the state government is yet to release list of top mafia in every district of the state. UP's Mission 2031 aims for massive overhaul to transform villages
Lucknow, June 29(UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to implement the 'Mission 2031' a large-scale development initiative focused on rural transformation. As a part of 'Mission 2031', the government aims to modernize and enrich villages across the state by significantly upgrading their infrastructure and services. In a recent meeting with the Central Finance Commission (CFC), the state government submitted a proposal seeking over Rs 2.15 lakh crore for rural local bodies. This proposal is seen as a major step towards realising the vision of a self-reliant and developed rural Uttar Pradesh. Officials here today said that as part of this roadmap, the state government has proposed Rs 1,74,755 crore for gram panchayats, Rs 17,334 crore for block-level development, and Rs 22,940 crore for district panchayats. The total allocation is earmarked for essential infrastructure improvements, repairs, and maintenance, marking one of the most comprehensive rural investment drives in the state's history. Notably, the 'Mission 2031' blueprint also includes an Rs 1.29 lakh crore infrastructure development roadmap for the state's 17 municipal corporations, indicating the government's dual focus on both urban and rural transformation. CM Yogi Adityanath has a clear goal- by the year 2031, every village in Uttar Pradesh should be self-reliant and prosperous.
