Ridhima Pandit Takes Cue From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Pledges Eye Donation
Ridhima Pandit urged her followers to consider becoming organ donors, calling it not just a personal choice but a responsibility all humans share.
Television actress Ridhima Pandit turned a year older on June 25. But instead of a grand celebration, the 35-year-old actress marked her special day with a deeply meaningful and compassionate act — by pledging to donate her eyes. The Bahu Hamari Rajnikant star took to social media to share her heartfelt decision, using the occasion to inspire others to consider organ donation.
Sharing a bunch of pictures featuring her certificate and signature on the organ donor card, she posted a touching message on Instagram.
Ridhima wrote, 'Of all the signatures I have ever made, the one I'm proudest of is on my organ donor card. As I turn a year older today, I've taken a small step that could one day light up someone else's world — I've pledged to donate my eyes. Vision is a gift, and the thought that it can live on even after me is both humbling and hopeful."
She further urged her followers to consider becoming organ donors, calling it not just a personal choice but a responsibility all humans share. 'If you've ever considered it, let this be your sign to take that step. Be the reason someone sees the sunrise again," she added.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Ridhima opened up about what influenced her decision. 'I'm deeply passionate about giving back to the community in any way possible, and this is something I wanted to do since I was a kid," she shared.
Recalling that the idea first struck her when she learnt about organ donation in school and the concept of helping others even after death left a lasting impression. She expressed, 'It feels incredibly meaningful to me that my eyes could be of use to someone."
Ridhima also revealed that her inspiration came years ago from actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who had pledged to donate her eyes. 'As a kid, I remember being impressed. Inspired by her example, I finally completed the formalities and made the pledge," Ridhima said.
Ridhima Pandit is a popular known face in the television world, known for her roles in hit shows like Bahu Hamari Rajnikant and Bharti Singh's Khatra Khatra Khatra. She has been a part of reality shows like Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and the first season of Bigg Boss OTT.
