Rodrigo Riquelme signs for Real Betis
As confirmed by his new club Betis, Riquelme has signed a contract valid for the next five seasons - until June 2030.

Having progressed through the youth ranks of the Colchoneros, the 25-year-old midfielder moving to the English south coast for a season-long loan at Bournemouth in 2020/21 before gaining further loan experience with Mirandés and Girona in Spain.
He later returned to Atletico and established himself in the main squad under Diego Simeone: making 73 appearances for the Madrid club over the past two seasons across all competitions.
Last season, specifically, Riquelme played 26 matches for Atleti, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

McInnes praises Kyziridis for goalscoring debut
Head coach Derek McInnes was encouraged by the goalscoring debut of winger Alexandros Kyziridis in Hearts' four-goal Premier Sports Cup win at Stirling. The 24-year-old Greek player set up Craig Halkett's headed opener and scored himself following Alan Forrest's cross. "You see what he is, I think he's capable of moments when he holds his width and he's really incisive and makes his mind up early," McInnes told Premier Sports. "Like a lot of wide players, decision-making is where they are judged. I thought he did a lot of good, considering it was his first game. "He was in the right area to score a goal. He should have been in the right area before that to score another goal. But he did some good things." Fellow summer signing Claudio Braga scored a diving header before Kyziridis put Hearts three up by the break, but McInnes was expecting more in the second half before Halkett headed in his second goal late on. "We played some good stuff in the first half, but I'd like us to be better than that for long spells," added McInnes, whose side all but sealed their place in the second round.

Pressley calls for character after second cup loss
Steven Pressley expects to see resilience and character from his players following a difficult start to his Dundee reign. Defeats to Alloa Athletic and Airdrieonians have left the Dark Blues with no chance of Premier Sports Cup progress. Speaking to DeeTV after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to League 1 opposition at the Indodrill Stadium, the new head coach said: "There is a lot of work ahead of us." Asked how his squad respond, Pressley added: "By accepting, by understanding that's not good enough, and as a group, me, the players, have to show resilience. I have said we need reinforcements but that's irrelevant because we have to do better than that. "They want to do well, but it will take time. "I saw improvements in our defensive principles, we were much better in those. But from a creative aspect we certainly have to be better." Talking to BBC Scotland after the game, Pressley said he would like to add "five or six" more signings, before adding that he assumed "full responsibility" for the loss. "The issue is a combination of a number of things," he explained. "We do need more players in, but I don't think we did well enough today with the group of players we had on the pitch. "Choices in possession weren't good. I thought we played too long on too many occasions. We have to take greater ownership and responsibility and make things happen. "Some of them tired significantly in the second half and we looked a team, at times, lacking in intensity. We have to find solutions to that." Dublin to face Meath in Ladies All-Ireland final
Meath knocked out holders Kerry to book their place in the Ladies All-Ireland SFC final against Dublin, who required extra time to see off Galway in their semi-final. Goals in either half from Kerrie Cole and Sarah Wall helped the Royals to a 2-12 to 1-9 victory against the reigning champions as they reached the final for the first time in three years. A late flurry of goals and points in the second half of extra time helped the Dubs to claim a 3-14 to 2-14 win which sets up an all-Leinster decider. The two sides will now face off in a repeat of the 2021 final on Sunday, 3 August at Croke Park. Meath led 1-5 to 0-6 in Tullamore at half-time with Cole's smashed effort putting them in the ascendancy. Kerry fought back to level early in the second half with a goal from Danielle O'Leary, but Meath wrestled back control and a second goal, this time from defender Wall proved crucial as they saw out the win. Dublin and Galway were level at 1-6 to 0-9 half-time with Hannah Tyrell scoring a penalty for the Dubs. It was nip-and-tuck in the second half right up until the closing stages, with Tyrell scoring a late free to force extra time. The game sprang into life in the second half of extra time, as Carla Rowe and Kate Sullivan added further goals for the Dubs. Andrea Trill and Olivia Divilly replied with goals for Galway, but it was not enough as Dublin tagged on a few more late points to progress.
