Too Much Netflix ending explained: Do Jessica and Felix end up together?

Cosmopolitana day ago
For all the lies, betrayals, family secrets, good friends and horrible people that Jessica and Felix experience in Too Much, the sexy and romantic new series from Lena Dunham on Netflix has a joyful, happy ending.
What are the artistic choices and implications of the Too Much series one finale? Let's get into it! Warning: there are major spoilers ahead!
Throughout the first season of Too Much, Jessica maintained a private Instagram where she recorded messages to her ex Zev's new girlfriend Wendy. There was lots of venting, crying, and real talk. In one video she accidentally set herself on fire. Towards the end of the series, she accidentally switched the entire account to public. All of a sudden, people including Wendy were watching and reposting her breakdown/healing journey. So embarrassing!
However, as Rita Ora playing herself predicted in the penultimate episode, the whole ordeal was actually not a big deal. The internet forgot. Jessica was viral for a day or two, but it didn't affect her job or relationship in the long term. It did not ruin her life. As a matter of fact, Jessica's Instagram faux-pas was the push she needed to get some closure about how her previous relationship ended. But first, tragedy strikes.
I am sorry to say that, yes, Jessica's dog Astrid dies in the Too Much series one finale. It's not an easy watch. It leads to another fight between Jessica and Felix. They were already broken up and then experienced something traumatic from different angles. Astrid was Jessica's best friend, but Felix was there when she died. It's so awful.
In the final episode, as she's folding up Astrid's clothes, she gets a simple text from an unknown number that changes everything: "Hey. It's Wendy. I'm in London for work. Let's meet?" Even though the conversation hasn't happened yet, it's like a weight lifts off of Jessica. She just knows she's finally going to able to let Zev go.
In a fantasy sequence, she floats back to New York and Taylor Swift's "Bigger Than The Whole Sky" plays. She sees Zev, alone in his bed reading, and says goodbye to him. A whole range emotions cross her face, from calm content to grief.
She meets Wendy at a cafe and they have a very real and uneasy but ultimately healing talk. Wendy asks if Zev was lying to her when he told her he and Jessica had been separated for six whole months when they first started dating. Jessica confirms her suspicion. They laugh together. The apologise to each other. They compliment each other. At the very end of the episode, Wendy sends back the shirt she inadvertently stole and wishes her well.
They sure did! In true romantic comedy fashion, Jessica rushes to meet Felix at an environmental protest. She tells him that she forgives him for cheating on her with the older woman. (To be fair, she hooked up with Andrew Scott's character in a previous episode. They're not perfect people!) She gives him a grand romantic speech. They're both pretty quick to acknowledge that they self-sabotaged their way out of a relationship that they both wanted. Jessica gets arrested, and Felix proposes! That, too, was quick. Is it a good idea that these two get married so impulsively? Thats a problem for series two.
Guess not. She tells Felix that she's planning to, but the wedding appears to be in London. All of Jessica and Felix's real friends and family are there. Hannah and Elijah Nora and James are back together. Polly's coping. Kim and her coworker/love interest make up. Jess wears the tee shirt over her wedding dress. (In one final fantasy sequence, Jessica and Felix appear wearing costumes identical to the ones Kate Winslet and Alan Rickman wore in the wedding scene at the end of Sense and Sensibility.) All is well!
There is a little artsy bit at the end where Dunham, who not only plays Jessica's sister Nora but directed most of the episodes, steps out of character and yells "cut." The scene then blends into a BTS montage that also serves as wedding footage. It's cute. It's meta. There's no need to overthink it. I think it just means they had fun making this show, and it shows!

Who has the best pizza in Indiana? Huge festival on Monument Circle will let you decide

On Aug. 9, only one slice will reign supreme on Monument Circle. The inaugural Indianapolis Pizza Festival is coming to the heart of downtown, and it's featuring some friendly, delicious competition with $5,000 on the line. Hosted by social media food critic and Indy native Tommy Barrett, the festival brings together more than 30 local pizzerias for a daylong celebration of what he calls Indiana's underrated food scene. "We need more eyeballs on some of our food places. I think we have good food in Indianapolis. There's a very bad stigma that we don't," said Barrett, known online for his viral "StartsWithAQuestion" videos on TikTok and Instagram. "I felt like this was a great opportunity to take what I've done on social media and make it a tangible product for not just people who follow me, but for the whole city." Barrett's festival dishes out unlimited pizza samples with general admission ($30 in advance, $40 day-of), or the full VIP treatment complete with craft cocktails, dessert vendors and prime shaded seating near the stage for $75. Each ticket includes a vote in the high-stakes competition to crown Indiana's best slice alongside celebrity judges like acclaimed pizzaiolo Frank Pinello, host of "The Pizza Show" and owner of one of New York's most iconic pizzerias. "Every single person's vote counts the same," Barrett said. He is channeling his love for food, which he discovered when every work trip and weekend getaway with his wife turned into a quest for the best local eats, to shine a spotlight on Indiana's pizzerias. The festival lineup includes well-known spots like Futuro and King Dough, but also up-and-coming shops looking for a breakthrough moment. Many of them, Barrett added, don't have big marketing budgets. 'There's no Domino's, no Papa John's,' he said. 'It's the mom-and-pops who deserve the credit, who may not have the best budget for a social media marketing team. It's just really word of mouth." The festival is also raising money for United Way of Central Indiana, with proceeds from each ticket and $1 from every drink sale donated to support community initiatives. Between slices, guests can enjoy live performances by the Tyler Robling Band and Jay Baker, or sip a custom beer brewed by Upland Brewing Company, local wine, or lemonade shake-ups. While there's no official pineapple-on-pizza debate planned, Barrett said all toppings and tastes are welcome. He said he's already thinking about making the festival an annual tradition, and possibly branching out to other food events throughout the year. For now, he hopes that everyone can discover something new at the festival. "Try a place you've never heard of," he said. "And if you love it, maybe you drive 30 minutes to support that business again."

Nicole Kidman reveals her natural hair texture and the shaggy curls have us in awe

Nicole Kidman has been having a good great hair day since May. (Could never be me.) After the time she shocked the nation with a pixie cut at the 2025 Met Gala, the actor has served look after look; from a hacked ear-length bob, to a striking ice white lob, there's no stopping Nic! Most recently, however, she's pared it all back and instead, debuted a more natural look. Enter: An abundance of shaggy curls. In a recent 16-part Instagram carousel post, Nicole is shown to be enjoying a summer holiday away with her family. And as much as we enjoy a sneak peek into the group's the wholesome activity, it was a snap of Nicole's hair, in a picture alongside her sister Antonia Kidman and niece Lucia Hawley, that had us in awe. Gone are the star's signature straight lengths and in replacement, she's giving voluminous stretched curls for days. For context, here's a look at the before and afters... Before: A rare yet gorgeous sight! For definition, a curly girl gel or cream is going to be your go-to. Our favourite's at the moment? The Bouclème Curl Cream which helps to style, soften and define all curl types, with the result of bouncy, velvety curls and the Noughty Wave Hello Curl Taming Cream which is an uber-light weight but moisturising formula, great for those with finer hair types. So, prepare to make like Nic with choppy, layered curls to rival those of a mermaid. You heard it here first, it's a curly girl summer! Follow Lia on Instagram. Netflix's new mystery thriller series has already broken into the top 10 — and it could be your perfect summer binge-watch

If you're looking for a fresh thriller to dive into this week, Netflix's new French limited series 'Under a Dark Sun' might be worth a look. It dropped on July 9, and while it didn't really make much noise last week, it has since climbed into the U.S. top 10, sitting comfortably at No. 8 as of today. The six-episode mystery follows a single mother trying to put her past behind her. But her new beginning takes a dark turn after she accepts a job at a flower farm in Provence, only to become the main suspect when the farm's patriarch is found dead. This premise alone sounds like prime material for an engaging binge-watch this week. Plus, the setting in Provence offers a unique visual style compared to typical thrillers, and I'm definitely someone who appreciates a series more when it's visually appealing. For those who enjoy twisty whodunits filled with plot twists and plenty of family drama, 'Under a Dark Sun' could well deserve a spot on your summer watchlist. Here's everything to know about the series and whether it's worth your time. 'Under a Dark Sun' follows Alba Mazier (Ava Baya), a single mother who arrives at a flower farm in Provence after receiving a mysterious job offer. Hoping for a fresh start, she instead finds herself at the center of a murder investigation when the farm's owner, Arnaud Lasserre (Thibault de Montalembert), is found dead. The situation escalates when it's revealed that Arnaud was Alba's biological father, and she's named in his will as an heir to part of his estate. As suspicion mounts, Alba must defend herself against both the law and the Lasserre family, who are determined to protect their inheritance. She finds an unlikely ally in Manon (Claire Romain), Arnaud's granddaughter and her defense lawyer, while Arnaud's widow Béatrice (Isabelle Adjani) leads efforts to cut Alba out of the picture. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. 'Under a Dark Sun' seems to have plenty of intriguing ingredients that could make for a gripping watch. At its core, it's a sun-drenched mystery wrapped in family drama, with a single mother caught in the middle of some dangerous secrets. Not really standout material but you can't deny that it sounds genuinely interesting. At its core, it's a sun-drenched mystery wrapped in family drama, with a single mother caught in the middle of some dangerous secrets. With just six episodes, it's a relatively quick binge that won't demand a huge time commitment. The setting in sunny Provence adds an interesting visual contrast to the darker storylines, helping it feel a bit different from your usual thriller fare on Netflix. As with many international series, watching with subtitles is the best way to fully appreciate the performances and original tone. At the time of writing, 'Under a Dark Sun' doesn't have a Rotten Tomatoes score, but there are some reviews online. Decider's Joel Keller said: 'Under A Dark Sun has just enough thrills, despite a pedestrian mystery, and fun-to-watch performances by Baya and Adjani, that the show is worth a viewer's time.' Meanwhile, Charles Hartford from But Why Tho? A Geek Community stated the show 'delivers a multi-layered story that comes together in some aspects, but not others. The characters and narrative coalesce to form a tense and compelling tale that, however, never fully materializes due to presentational shortcomings.' The Review Geek's Greg Wheeler said: 'Despite its messy execution, Under a Dark Sun is an easy binge with strong performances, a compelling lead, and just enough intrigue to carry you through. If you can overlook its plot holes, there's fun to be had — just don't expect a flawless mystery here.' The general vibe is that 'Under a Dark Sun' isn't a perfect mystery, with some plot holes and uneven execution holding it back. However, strong performances from Baya and Adjani help keep the show engaging, delivering enough tension to maintain interest. While the story may feel flat at times and the presentation occasionally falters, it still offers an easy, entertaining binge for those who don't mind overlooking some flaws. If you're someone who enjoys twisty whodunits that aren't too complicated, this French limited series might be worth checking out, even if it's something you stick on in the background. You can stream 'Under a Dark Sun' on Netflix now. Otherwise, see what else is new on Netflix in July 2025.
