Ireland president meets prime minister, expresses his country's appreciation for Qatar's role in mediation, conflict resolution

DUBLIN: President of the Republic of Ireland HE Michael Daniel Higgins has met with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the greetings of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to President of the Republic of Ireland, along with His Highness's wishes of good health and happiness for the president, and continued progress and prosperity for the people of Ireland.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Ireland expressed to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs greetings to HH the Amir, wishing His Highness good health and happiness, and further development and growth for the Qatari people.
Cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them were discussed during the meeting, in addition to the latest regional developments, as well as a number of topics of mutual interest.
The President of the Republic of Ireland expressed his country's appreciation for the State of Qatar's role in mediation and conflict resolution, and its ongoing efforts in supporting regional and international stability through peaceful and diplomatic means.

ASTANA: The seventh session of the Qatari-Kazakh Supreme Joint Committee was held in Astana to enhance economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The Qatari side was headed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry HEDr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, while the Kazakh side was headed by Deputy Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan HEArman Kasenov, with the participation of a number of senior officials from both sides. In his opening remarks, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs emphasized the depth and strength of bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Kazakhstan, noting that the committee represents a pivotal platform for strengthening strategic relations and deepening partnerships in various vital sectors. During the committee's meeting, the two sides discussed areas of cooperation in a number of priority sectors, including trade, investment, finance, agriculture, transportation, science, higher education, and joint research, information technology and artificial intelligence, health, labor, tourism, culture, regional cooperation, and the environment and climate change. They agreed to take practical steps to expand cooperation, increase trade volume, and facilitate the flow of goods, services, and investments between the two countries. On the sidelines of the committee's work, Dr Al Sayedheld a series of bilateral meetings with a number of senior officials in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy HE Serik Jumangarin; Chairman of the Atameken Chamber of CommerceMurat Karimsakov; and CEO of the Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth FundNurlan Djakupov. During the meetings, prospects for joint cooperation were discussed, investment opportunities available in Qatar and the incentives it offers to investors were reviewed, and ways to enhance partnerships in strategic sectors were discussed, as well as developing mechanisms for cooperation between the public and private sectors in both countries, contributing to achieving sustainable economic development for both parties.

KUWAIT: The State of Qatar is participating in the high-level GCC workshop on the Protection of Oil and Gas Infrastructure and Crisis Management, taking place in the State of Kuwait from July 1-3. The Qatari delegation is led by Director General of Public Security and Vice Chairman of the Civil Defence Council Major General Mohammed Jassim Al Sulaiti, and includes representatives from various member entities of the council. The workshop aims to strengthen regional cooperation in safeguarding vital oil and gas infrastructure, improve crisis response strategies, and enhance coordination mechanisms among GCC member states.
