Former Hornets boss Edwards takes charge at Middlesbrough
The 42-year-old's appointment has been expected and he has signed a three-year contract, returning to management after leaving the Hornets' rivals Luton Town in January.

'It's something that's not lost on me, how big this is, how important this is, and what it means to people. There is an amazing fanbase.
'It felt instantly that this was right for me and it got me excited. If I was going to come back in, I wanted to come back in at a place where we had a chance, and we have a really good chance here.
'We have a brilliant owner who historically gives his coaches time, support, and the tools needed to try and be successful. I can't wait to get started now.'
The former defender won his first promotion with Forest Green in 2022 and was appointed at Vicarage Road soon after, only to be sacked the following September after just ten games in charge.
He will be joined at Boro, who sacked Michael Carrick after missing out on the play-offs last season, by former Coventry City assistant manager Adi Viveash and Harry Watling, whose coaching experience includes spells at Chelsea and West Ham.

If Emma Raducanu and Aryna Sabalenka provided Friday night Champagne Supernova viewing, Saturday's afternoon session felt like a cloudy hangover. Jannik Sinner dispatched Spain's Pedro Martinez in straight sets under the closed roof, played out in front of the great and good of British sport in the Royal Box (plus Andy Roddick and Billie Jean King). Martinez is world No. 52 and reached the third round of Wimbledon in 2021 as well. He didn't have the resume to rattle the world No.1 and everyone present knew that from the start. The 28-year-old's cause wasn't helped by a shoulder issue that required the trainer at 0-5 down in the first set. Things could have got very ugly indeed when the Spaniard popped over an 86 mph serve to go a double break behind. Martinez came out swinging when he knew physicality wasn't on his side. He won the next six points and played with abandon, the kind of attitude that could at least make some small dents in Sinner's outer ring of steel. The crowd knew what was going to happen. It was a guaranteed defeat, but effort is never futile. It's a difficult sell in front of the likes of great Olympians, Dame Laura Kenny and Sir Steve Redgrave. All three matches on Centre ended in victories for Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek, with an aggregate loss of 17 games between these three multiple Slam winners. Champions know how to dull the opponent's hope, but this felt like a procession without any light or shade. There was no jeopardy, the very essence of competitive sport. At least the second set was competitive. Sinner and Martinez were never trading on equal terms. The number one seed always has more chips on the table. Sinner saved four break points at 4-3 as Martinez threw everything he could without really being in contention. Sinner can destroy opponents and greet them at the net with the warmest of hugs, as if they just had the best knockabout in Wimbledon Park. Sinner is a smiling assassin who can detonate with accuracy and authority. The 23-year-old made almost three times as many unforced errors as he had in the previous round against Aleksandar Vukic, but he was never under any serious threat Sinner has lost just ten games in the last six sets – five today and five against Vukic - hasn't dropped his serve, and is now the record-holder for least number of games ceded after three rounds at Wimbledon. As he said in the press conference, it's all about looking after his side of the net. The rest is fluff and stuff for others to speculate over. There are no negative thoughts coming from that stunning but stinging final defeat at Roland Garros where he held three match points against Carlos Alcaraz in the fifth set. Sinner is all about what tomorrow brings. Sinner's progress to the second week has been smoother than Alcaraz and that energy saving could prove to be a factor, especially as the world no. 2 went all the way at Queen's as well. Grand Slams can't be won in the first week, but there have been no difficult moments so far for Sinner. The long haul is halfway through without any turbulence. It doesn't mean anything until he reaches July 13.

Sinner eclipses Saint Roger as he mows down Martinez
Jannik Sinner has maintained his ruthless progress towards a first Wimbledon final, consigning Pedro Martinez to the same merciless fate that Luca Nardi and Australian Aleksandar Vukic suffered in the opening two rounds. Sinner beat the Spaniard 6-2 6-3 6-1 in Saturday's third round, bringing to just 17 the number of games he has conceded in three matches during which he hasn't conceded a set. That is the smoothest start to a Wimbledon men's singles in the Open era, eclipsing Roger Federer, the sainted darling of Centre Court, who had lost 19 games at this stage in 2004. Jan Kodes, a semi-finalist in 1972, also lost 17 games, but the Czech also lost a set, and was one-set all in the opening round against Pato Rodriguez. Sinner, who has barely broken sweat, even during the heatwave start to the championships, said of Federer: "I watched matches of him and the classics, the all-time classics. "The tennis was a little bit different in a way of more serve and volleys back in the days. The grass was different. "But I enjoyed it so much watching Roger play. I never played against him in an official match. But in the other way, how they played, it was amazing. "About the games lost, this is whatever. I'm not looking at these kind of records. I know that everything can change very quickly from one round to the other." The world No.1 is yet to have his serve broken, has faced just eight break points and has spent only five hours and 23 minutes on court so far, which is six minutes less than his French Open final defeat by Carlos Alcaraz last month. However, the players he has faced to date are ranked 95, 93 and 52 with little experience at the All England Club. He now meets a Wimbledon veteran, former semi-finalist and 19th seed Grigor Dimitrov. It is, though, 11 years since the Bulgarian reached the last four and he has not made a quarter-final here since. Dimitrov has retired from matches through injury at the last three grand slams but looks fit enough now and reached the fourth round with a 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7-0) win over Austria's Sebastian Ofner. The Italian renaissance continued with 22nd-seed Flavio Cobolli dispatching Czech 15th seed Jakub Mensik 6-2 6-4 6-2, and he'll next face Croatia's 36-year-old former finalist Marin Cilic, who continued his own revival after multiple knee surgeries with a 6-3 3-6 6-2 6-4 victory over Spain's Jaume Munar. A third Italian man in the last-16 will be Lorenzo Sonego, who finally prevailed in the longest epic of the championships after five hours and four minutes, defeating American Brandon Nakashima 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (12-10) 7-6 (7-2) 3-6 7-6 (12-10). He'll play another American in the last-16 in the shape of big-serving left-hander Ben Shelton, who beat lucky loser Marton Fucsovics 6-3 7-6 (7-4) 6-2.
