Boy, 8, is found being raised by pack of DOGS in squalid drug den – and can only communicate by barking

AN EIGHT-year-old boy has been discovered being raised by a pack of dogs in a filthy hut and unable to talk.
The neglected youngster can only communicate through barks after being abandoned by his drug-addicted family and kept out of school.

Thai authorities found the boy during a raid on a run-down stilt house in the norther province of Uttaradit this week
They discovered the child living with his mother and 23-year-old brother who were both riddled with drugs, tests showed.
Police visited the hut after the principle of the local school contacted a children's activist, Paveena Hongsakul, who escalated the case.
Paveena said: 'He didn't speak, he just barked. It was pitiful to see."
The boy had never been to school properly.
However, his mum did take him in once to scoop up the government support money supposed to be spent on his education, Khaosod English reports.
Paveena said: 'His mother hasn't allowed him to go to school since he received a subsidy for free education.
"After getting the money, she simply kept him at home."
Neighbours said the 46-year-old mum would beg for money and food at the temple in the local village.
The surrounding families reportedly got fed up with the mum's reckless behaviour and banned their kids from interacting with the boy.

This left him with only the family's six dogs to socialise with.
Starved of meaningful human contact, he began mimicking the dog's behaviour - and even adopted their barks to communicate.
The urgent social visit on June 30 was a joint operation between Lap Lae police officers and Education Ministry officials.
After the adults failed urine tests, they were charged with drug consumption.
A local teacher said: 'The house is in a red zone for drugs. The boy had no one, just the dogs to play with."
The helpless child was placed into car at the Uttaradit's Children's Home.
Paveena is monitoring the boy's case to ensure he receives adequate care.
She said: 'The boy will be given a chance at a good life.
"We'll follow up with him to make sure he gets everything he needs."

More than 200 pupils are suspended from school in three weeks amid crackdown on behaviour - but parents claim the new measures are 'extreme'

A Catholic school in Merseyside has suspended more than 200 children in just three weeks after launching a dramatic clampdown on poor behaviour. St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy in Whiston, near Liverpool, has brought in a swathe of tough disciplinary policies as part of a drive to improve standards resulting in mass suspensions and isolations for offences ranging from refusing to hand over mobile phones to wearing make-up and nail varnish. The controversial measures are part of the school's plan to move beyond its current Ofsted rating of 'requires improvement'. But the sharp spike in punishments has triggered uproar among some parents, who have blasted the crackdown as 'extreme' and claimed it is damaging pupils' mental health. One father, who asked not to be named, said: 'I am finding the reasonings for the punishments to be minor and, in my opinion, not befitting of a day in isolation and/or suspension.' He added: 'In my opinion the school is not tackling the root cause and are not considering reasons for children or their behaviours on individual merit… it appears to be a new blanket policy and dishing out punishments.' The dad warned the new system was leaving children 'anxious and worried about going to school,' adding: 'Right now there are mass isolations, mass suspensions and mass numbers of pupils missing valuable time in the classroom, therefore affecting their learning.' It's understood that the school issued 99 suspensions in the first week of the new policy alone, followed by 67 in the second week and 36 in the third - a total of 202 in just 21 days. While the school has welcomed the downward trend as a sign pupils are beginning to respond, parents say the pace and scale of the clampdown is wreaking havoc on family life. Another parent, Sammy Rhead, said: 'They suspend for refusing to hand over bracelets, for refusing to hand over phones, having lashes on or makeup.' Mother-of-two, Lexi Sharp revealed: 'My daughter is getting suspended every day because I refuse to go to a meeting over nail varnish. That happened a week ago.' She added: 'I've worked with the school, but enough is enough. I even get detention messages for her while she's suspended. They told my daughter, 'when your mum does come in for a meeting, you will be in isolation'.' Debate has erupted on local Facebook groups, with some parents accusing the school of running it like an 'army camp'. One parent said: 'They actually don't let the children breathe. The phone calls I get are for silly things. They're not in the army. They have their own characters. Unless their behaviour is very disturbing, teachers should be able to deal with it.' But others supported the hardline approach, with one commenting: 'It's about time the schools clamped down. Some kids run riot.' The school, which is part of the Pope Francis Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, has seen major leadership changes in recent years. Headteacher Lee Peachey and deputy head Anna Kenny mysteriously disappeared from their roles last year with no explanation ever given and both remain off-duty, though still listed on the school's website. In their place, acting headteacher Clare McKenna has been leading the latest reforms in collaboration with the Education Exchange – a national education network that advises on behaviour management. Ms McKenna defended the policy shift, insisting it was necessary to 'raise the bar' and instil a new culture of respect. She said: 'Since our recent Ofsted inspection… we have achieved a great deal, and progress has been made.' She added: 'We spent a great deal of time looking at how best we could overcome [hurdles], and in response we have… developed some additional targeted approaches. This has resulted in us raising the bar in terms of what we expect of all our pupils.' Despite the backlash, she insisted most pupils had responded positively: 'The school is even calmer and more focused – and the feedback we are getting from students is hugely positive.' Acknowledging the spike in suspensions, she said: 'There has been a significant drop (of about two-thirds) in things like short-term exclusions. We expect this trajectory to continue.' The school is also trying to recognise pupils meeting expectations: 'It is not just about sanctions,' said Ms McKenna. 'We are doing more to celebrate those students who are working hard and thriving.' She concluded: 'Ultimately, we all want the very best for our brilliant pupils. Behaviour is improving, children are happier and learning is more focused.'

Little boy found abandoned at courthouse after desperate parents pleaded with cops to 'take him away'

A Missouri couple has been arrested after they allegedly abandoned their young son at a courthouse alone and pleaded with cops to 'take him away.' Jeremy Lamp, 36, and Jessica Lamp, 31, are accused of leaving their infant son behind at the Livingston County Courthouse in Chillicothe. They allegedly left the young boy with no food, clothes or plan for his care - with police saying they did so 'without remorse and without ensuring proper care.' They've both been charged with child neglect and are expected to appear in court Monday for a bond hearing. Cops say the couple showed up to the courthouse the day before for a routine drug screening with a Missouri Department of Social Services investigator, which was part of an ongoing child welfare case. Jeremy reportedly tested clean but Jessica's mouth swab came back positive for methamphetamine. This led to a social worker recommending a 'safety plan' to protect the child. But instead of cooperating, Jeremy allegedly refused all options - including having Jessica stay away from the home, having him and the baby leave the house or even allowing the child to stay with a relative. 'The investigator explained that due to the drug test coming back positive, she couldn't leave the baby with them,' the Chillicothe Police Department stated in the couple's probable cause affidavits. Officers say the Lamps returned to the courthouse the next day and left their child behind 'without remorse and without ensuring proper care.' 'Jeremy and Jessica then left the courthouse without the child,' police wrote, adding that the boy had been left with no clothes, food or other infant care. The couple was later found at a nearby medical center, where they were arrested. Jeremy allegedly admitted to abandoning the child, saying: 'The way I looked at it was that they were gonna take him anyway.' He also told officers that 'none of the options' the court presented were acceptable, according to his statement. 'Jeremy said that none of the options were viable. He said that Children's Division told him that they would take the child so he left Victim 1 with them,' the probable cause statements read. 'When I questioned him about this he said 'the way I looked at it was that, they were gonna take him anyway.' Both Jeremy and Jessica have prior criminal convictions, including assault and DWI charges for him and child endangerment for her. Authorities say the child is now in the custody of Missouri Children's Division.

Ukrainian model, 20, found horrifically injured in Dubai appears in wheelchair for harrowing first interview as she describes 'beating' by male revellers who warned her 'you belong to us' at party before she blacked out

A Ukrainian OnlyFans model who was found seriously injured in Dubai on the side of the road has told for the first time of the terrifying abuse she endured. Maria Kovalchuk, 20, went into a coma and suffered horrific injuries including a broken spine and limbs when she was discovered on a roadside on March 19. The adult content creator had been due at a party but mysteriously vanished. Her friends expressed fears she had been kidnapped before she was found 10 days later in a critical condition. Breaking her silence on her terrifying ordeal from Norway, where she is recovering, a wheelchair-bound Maria appeared in an interview with Russian presenter Ksenia Sobchak. Speaking to the interviewer, Maria explained that the horrific ordeal unfolded when she missed a flight from Dubai to Thailand after she overslept. While checking out of her hotel, she bumped into a Russian man she had met at a karaoke bar once before. After telling him about her situation, he invited her to stay in his room and told her they could fly to Thailand together in his private jet. The man was accompanied by three friends - a man and two women. 'We went up to the room. The guys were half-sober, they had just come from a party. And overall, everything went well throughout the day. We talked, discussed our trip to Thailand. 'I even called my mum, said that everything was fine, the guys were normal. I called in their presence, to be on the safe side. But things took dark turn the next day, when the men started to behave aggressively towards her, she says. 'They were drinking very strong alcohol, like whiskey. They started to tease me, like, why don't I drink. 'Then there were some aggressive pushes, they started to joke: 'You belong to us. We'll do whatever we want'.' 'I tried to take it as a joke, because it was really weird. 'They started behaving inappropriately, smashing bottles on the floor. 'After that, they took my personal belongings, which included my passport.' Maria added that the men had 'hinted' that they wanted to have sex with her, which she did not reciprocate. As things escalated, Maria tried to escape but said the men ultimately dragged her back into the room. When they stepped out onto the balcony, she managed to flee and hid at a nearby construction site. The men then found her and 'beat her', she said. 'I ran away. Then, already on the street, when I was, I didn't see them anymore, but I knew they were coming,' said Maria. 'I ran to the nearest building, just scared, and ran in, hid there. It was just an unfinished building.' Maria said she doesn't remember the violence itself that led to her injuries, and CCTV footage has since been erased, she said. 'Three months have passed — the police waited until the cameras were automatically wiped [after this period]. So now there's no evidence,' said Maria. 'Most likely, there was a blow to the head, I suppose. The next scene [that] I remember is me asking for help from a passing car, which had already stopped and called an ambulance and the police. She had fled wearing only a hotel robe. 'I think that maybe I was thrown. Or it was a beating. One of two options, the injuries looked like either a beating or a fall.' The men accused by Maria were both briefly detained by police in Dubai- but only for one day. There appear to be no charges against them. Maria had been missing for eight days after telling her friends she had been invited to a party at a hotel on March 9. On March 19, ten days after she disappeared, a battered and bloodied Maria was found dumped at a roadside in Dubai with her limbs and spine broken.
