HERE AND NOW Rock star battling with Parkinson's delivers powerful gig in Glasgow
IT's fair to say the first night of Summer on the Southside was a success.
Long-time rockers filled the tent in Queen's Park for 80s Scottish band Del Amitri while younger crowds flocked for Lana Del Rey's gig next door at Hampden Park.

Del Amitri's eclectic style, straddling between rock, country and blues, created a solid fan-base in the 80s and 90s.
Over the course of the night, the band reminded everyone why they have endured - great songwriting, sharp vocals and a setlist of electric hits.
Just last year, the Del Amitri's frontman, Justin Currie, revealed he has Parkinson's disease.
Currie has continued playing and touring, undeterred by what he says is 'the uneasy feeling that another man is growing inside me slowly ceasing the means of control'.
Despite the 60-year-old's diagnosis, Del Amitri seamlessly rocked their hearts out as if it were ten years ago.
The faithful audience were happiest when belting out chart favourites of Roll to Me, Kiss This Thing Goodbye and Always the Last to Know.

Lead guitarist Iain Harvie, with his iconic curtain of hair, showed off his impressive skill throughout the night. Most memorable were his slick blues-style entries in Lonely and Here and Now.
You couldn't help but be amazed at Currie's strength and soulful voice which carried through the tent with raw honesty.
The audience got to rest when the slower, more melancholy moments allowed the three frontmen to drop their guitars and show off their beautiful harmonies.
Apart from the chart-toppers, highlights of the night came when Currie switched his bass for acoustic guitar in songs like Be My Downfall and Tell Her This.
Rock legend 'gives away' he's Glastonbury's mystery performer as he flies into UK days before festival
By the end of the concert, it was undeniable that this is a band bound by over 40 years of friendship.
'It's been a pleasure,' said Currie as the Glasgow crowd sang their hearts out to Nothing Ever Happens.

Harry has shown his bravery. He should use it to stop blaming Charles for his problems
Speaking of the damage done to him as a young royal in a 2021 podcast, The Armchair Expert, however, Harry seemed intent on pointing out Charles's appalling failings. 'When it comes to parenting, if I've experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered, I'm going to make sure I break that cycle,' he said. Doubling down on this psychobabble narrative later, Harry spoke of the 'genetic pain' that was passed on to him, and added that parents should be trying to stop that happening. I hope the therapist who fed him the (deeply unhelpful) term 'genetic pain' explained that he wasn't condemned to suffer from this affliction for life. I hope that at least one of the army of therapists Harry has presumably been seeing since moving to California has explained that parenting is an imperfect science, that everyone messes up in one way or another, and that there's an expiry date on the parental blame game. Let's say, 40, shall we? And that's being generous. Because at that point, as a probable parent yourself, you really need to have acquired a new compassion and understanding for your own parents. You should also be holding yourself accountable for any shortcomings. And by the way, as a parent, you too will fall short in any number of areas. You just have to hope that Archie and Lilibet won't still be holding those things against you when they're middle-aged. Most importantly, I'd hope that any therapist worth their salt would emphasise how unhappy blaming others will ultimately make you. How unrewarding blame is; how it hollows you out. Harry doesn't ever have to take up royal duties again. He doesn't ever have to move back from La La Land or even stop peddling nonsense to Netflix. But if this really is a 'reset', he will now need to call time on pointing out his family's failings, take responsibility for his own actions and do whatever it takes to heal that rift before it's too late.

Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 It's tricky for Zoe to cook for such a large family 2 The Cajun pasta is an instant hit Zoe, 46, and husband Ben, 50, have one of Scotland's biggest families with 12 children. The pair are parents to Elizabeth, 20, Olivia, 18, Noah, 15, Evangeline, 13, Tobias, 12, Agnes, seven, Joseph, six, Flo, three, and two sets of twins, Charlotte and Isabelle, 17, and Leah and Erin, nine. They have their own YouTube channel and in an episode this week Zoe was cooking up one of her family favourites, a viral recipe for Cajun chicken pasta. It only has seven core ingredients, takes 25 minutes to cook and costs less than £2 per portion - ideal for such a big brood. The vlog post reads: "It's perfect for busy parents, large families, or anyone looking for easy, tasty dinner ideas that kids and adults will love." Zoe was making the meal for four people in the afternoon and then another eight people later, for 12 of her 14-strong family. For her dozen, she cubes 12 chicken breasts and puts them in a bowl with 12 tablespoons of Cajun spice, and some oil to coat. She then fries the chicken in a pan until it's browned then adds around six garlic gloves - or six teaspoons of lazy garlic, six tablespoons of garlic puree and another six tablespoons of Cajun spice. Then Zoe adds 900ml of veg stock and 1,200ml of double cream to the chicken mix and cooks until the meat is cooked and the sauce thickens. Zoe then mixes the chicken mix and pasta together to complete the simple, family meal. The Moray mum said: "It's super yummy, it's really nice. It's creamy Cajun chicken pasta - try it for sure." I am a mum of 12, our life is crazy but I would have another baby tomorrow Zoe suggests leaving out a bit of spice if your kids don't like their food with too much kick and adding a bit of fresh parsley to finish off. One follower said: "It looks lovely I bet it tasted delicious, I shall be trying it myself." And another said: "The Cajun chicken looks really good, I'm watching this in the evening and it's making me hungry."
