Hyderabad: BRS working president
KT Rama Rao
accused chief minister A
Revanth Reddy
of acting as a proxy for his Andhra Pradesh counterpart
N Chandrababu Naidu
and surrendering Telangana's rights over Godavari water through the Banakacharla project.
Speaking at the state-level BRSV conference held at Mallapur on Saturday, KTR said that this is a deliberate conspiracy to divert surplus Godavari water away from Telangana. Questioning the silence of the Centre on Telangana's share in Godavari water, KTR demanded that the Union govt immediately clarify Telangana's rightful share in the surplus and dependable water of the Godavari River. "Of the 3,000 TMCs of surplus Godavari water, 950 TMCs must be allocated to Telangana.
Similarly, of the 1,486 TMCs of dependable flows, 968 should be given to Telangana," he asserted.
Stating the Bankacherla project is illegal, KTR said the constructionhas been taken upwithout the required approvals from the central water commission, Polavaram project authority, or apex council. He warned that BRS will not remain silent as Telangana's political identity and water rights are trampled upon.

He ridiculed the Congress govt for fabricating phone-tapping stories, involving film actresses, just to divert public attention from their failed promises.
He also attacked the deteriorating law and order situation in Telangana, accusing the Revanth-led govt of misusing police machinery to harass BRS leaders and student activists who question the administration. Recalling the developmental achievements under former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's leadership, including the Kaleshwaram project, record welfare schemes, highest per capita income growth, and massive expansion in education and health infrastructure, KTR warned that these hard-earned gains are now under threat due to the misrule of the Congress.
He urged the student community to continue exposing the injustice of Banakacharla and to take the fight to every college and university through awareness campaigns and petitions. "BRSV is not just a student wing, but a frontline force defending Telangana's rights, and that future leaders will emerge from these youth-led struggles," he said.

NCP workers dream of Ajit Pawar becoming CM: Mushrif

Kolhapur: NCP veteran and minister Hasan Mushrif on Monday said every party worker wanted Ajit Pawar to become the chief minister, and they should work ceaselessly to achieve this goal. "Ajit Pawar is an influential leader. He is committed to the public and never backs down from his word. He has a great future. Every worker dreams of him becoming the chief minister. We will work tirelessly till Ajit Pawar becomes the CM," Mushrif said, while addressing a party workers' meeting in Sangli. The minister said (undivided) NCP gave outside support to BJP on multiple occasions. "Even Sharad Pawar took BJP along while forming the Pulod govt (Progressive Democratic Front). Ajit Pawar decided to join BJP-led govt too. But, we have not compromised on the party's progressive ideals. We believe in Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar's ideology. Our aim is to develop the state and expand the party," he said. Mushrif said the upcoming local body elections were crucial. "Our aim is to win. We have to keep in mind that NCP is in alliance with Shiv Sena and BJP. Wherever possible, NCP will form an alliance with these two parties, and wherever it is not, we will have to contest alone and fight to win," the minister added.

Even Manohar Lal Khattar was better as Haryana CM than Nayab Saini, says former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala

1 2 Jind: Former Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala has launched a blistering attack on the BJP-led state govt, accusing chief minister Nayab Singh Saini of losing control over law and order and branding his administration a "gayab sarkar" — a missing govt. Chautala, who leads the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), said during a public address in Jind: "Police are nowhere, and criminals everywhere. Even Manohar Lal Khattar was better than Nayab Saini. If the CM can't control his police, he should hand over charge to Anil Vij — at least he'd suspend someone." Chautala claimed Haryana had become a safe haven for criminals from other states and that policing had collapsed under the current dispensation. He claimed that: "Crime meetings that used to be held every two to three months have stopped. Threats are being issued from inside jails. In Gurugram, a man was shot just metres from a police outpost," he said. Drawing a historical contrast, Chautala referenced his grandfather and former chief minister O P Chautala's tenure: "Murders began during Bansi Lal's time, but Chautala Saheb ended hooliganism within six months. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 20 Highest Paying Degrees For 2025 Best Paying Degrees | Search Ads Learn More Undo " He also criticised the BJP for "sidelining senior politician Anil Vij", claiming the former state home minister had been rendered powerless in the current cabinet. Turning his fire on the Congress, Chautala accused its central leader of opposition, Rahul Gandhi, of losing grip on his own party. "The Congress is so divided that even selecting the LoP isn't in Rahul's control. He has mortgaged himself to one leader," he claimed, without naming anyone. The remarks come amid mounting political heat in Haryana, where the opposition has zeroed in on rising crime.

No proposal to raise ‘Ladli Behna' scheme allowance to Rs 3k

Bhopal: Women and child development minister Nirmala Bhuria told the House on Tuesday that there was no proposal as of now to raise the monthly allowance to beneficiaries under the "Ladli Behna" scheme to Rs 3,000. Replying to a question from Congress MLA Atif Aqueel during Question Hour, Bhuria said new names of 600,339 beneficiaries were added back in Sept 2023. In response to Aqueel's query on why the monthly allowance to "Ladli Behnas" has not been raised to Rs 3,000 and when it's likely to be done, the minister, in a written reply, said no such proposal was under the consideration of the state govt.
