Since the jailbreak, Kashmir Singh was actively associated with designated Khalistani terrorists including Rinda.
Kashmir Singh was declared a proclaimed offender by an NIA court in a 2022 Khalistani terror conspiracy case. A cash reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced by NIA for information leading to his arrest.
An important node of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Rinda's terror gang in Nepal, Kashmir was accused of conspiring and providing shelter, logistics support and terror funds to aides of the Khalistani terrorists. These aides had escaped to Nepal after carrying our various terror activities in India, including the RPG attack at the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters.

Investigations into the terror conspiracy case had exposed a terror-criminal nexus, suggesting that Khalistani terror like BKI, Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) and International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF), along with organised criminal gangs, were engaged in smuggling terrorist hardware, such as arms, ammunition explosive, IEDs etc from across the border to carry out terror activities in various parts of the country.
NIA has so far chargesheeted 15 accused in the case. In August 2024, the anti-terror agency had successfully secured the extradition of Landa's brother Tarsem Singh from UAE and filed a third supplementary chargesheet against him in December.

Man kills colleague for refusing to give Rs 10,000 loan, arrested
A 42-year-old man was allegedly bludgeoned to death at a farmhouse in Chhattarpur by his colleague after he refused to lend him Rs 10,000, police said on Sunday. The body of the deceased, Sita Ram – who was employed at the farmhouse for the last 10 years – was found drowned in a septic tank at the property on Saturday. The accused, Chandra Prakash (47), who worked as a driver at the same farmhouse, was arrested from Palam in Southwest Delhi. Police said a missing person report for Sita Ram, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was filed at the Mehrauli police station on July 26. 'Sita Ram used to work as a help at the farmhouse and was alone the night of the incident, as the owner had gone out of Delhi. On July 26 morning, staffers found the doors of the farmhouse open, and Sita Ram missing. After the missing report was filed, his body was recovered from the septic tank of the farmhouse,' DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan said. While questioning the staff at the farmhouse, the police found that Chandra Prakash was missing. He was later traced to Palam in Dwarka. Chandra Prakash, who hails from Almora and has been the driver at the farmhouse for the last seven years, told the police that a loan of Rs 10,000 made him kill Sita Ram. 'He admitted to the murder, stating that he had demanded Rs 10,000 from Sita Ram and, upon refusal, killed him with a hammer, and dumped the body in the septic tank,' the DCP said.

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is unlikely to speak on the debate on Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor that gets underway in LS on Monday. "He has not asked the party to be fielded in the debate. The party too has not approached him either till now," sources said. It is to be seen who opens the debate for opposition or initiates the debate in case the chair asks anti-BJP benches to take the lead. The discussion is not being done under any specific rule of LS procedures and is also not based on any notice, sources said, quoting consultations between opposition, government and Speaker. While the belief is that Rahul Gandhi may start, there have been times like during opposition's no-confidence motion against Modi government on Manipur ethnic conflict in Aug 2023 when he let his now deputy Gaurav Gogoi to initiate, and himself spoke later. But Tharoor skipping the debate would set the tongues wagging, as the Thiruvananthapuram MP has had run-ins with the party since he defied Congress to lead a delegation constituted by Modi government for the global outreach on the India-Pakistan conflict. As Tharoor threw his weight behind the government on the issue of conflict and also on the pause of hostilities, there was a frequent to and fro between him and Congress members who were critical of the government.

Uttar Pradesh secures ₹12,031 crore under PMAY-Urban 2.0
LUCKNOW: In a major push towards ' Housing for All ', the Uttar Pradesh government has secured financial approval of Rs 12,031 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Mission 2.0 to provide pucca houses to the urban poor, according to a statement released on Saturday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure transparency and quality in construction, the statement said. Following this, geo-tagging and photographic documentation of each house will be mandatory under PMAY (Urban), enabling real-time monitoring at every stage of construction. All houses will also be equipped with disaster-resilient features to safeguard against earthquakes, floods, and other calamities, making safety an integral component of the scheme, it said. The cost of construction under the scheme is being shared between the Centre and the state government in a 60:40 ratio. Each eligible beneficiary will receive Rs 2.5 lakh in assistance to build a permanent (pucca) house. Launched on September 1, 2024, the PMAY (Urban) Mission 2.0 aims to ensure pucca houses for all families by the set deadline. The scheme is being closely monitored by officials at both the state and district levels to guarantee timely and quality construction. The initiative not only provides social security to the urban poor but also promotes integrated urban development across Uttar Pradesh, the statement added.
