
Rotary Club of Sandton celebrates over 30 years of inclusive fun
Held at the Randburg METS Baseball Club, the event drew over 260 participants, including individuals living with disabilities from various homes across Johannesburg, alongside Rotarians, interactors, and friends of rotary.
This special day was more than just a celebration of fun and games; it embodied rotary's guiding principle of service above self.

Volunteers from Rotary club of Sandton and Special Olympics South Africa worked tirelessly to create an accessible, welcoming environment where everyone could participate in inclusive games, enjoy good food, and forge meaningful connections.
The event featured lively music, engaging activities, and the magic of Geewiz the Magician, whose tricks captivated all ages, adding a touch of wonder to the festivities.
The event also saw inspiring involvement from young leaders of the Interact clubs at Redhill School and Crawford International Lonehill.
These students, many in their final year before university, arrived early to help set up and actively participated in the games, demonstrating maturity and compassion that left a lasting impression.

The Rotary Club of Sandton president Richard Cimardi said: 'It's hard to describe the feeling this day brings to everyone involved the joy is so pure, so contagious. 'We are grateful to every sponsor, every volunteer, and especially to our guests; the people who this day is truly about. They remind us what connection and inclusion really mean.'

(AP) — Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a go-ahead two-run single in the fifth inning, Ketel Marte, Alek Thomas and Corbin Carroll hit home runs, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Athletics 7-2 on Saturday night to end a six-game losing streak. Zac Gallen (8-12) allowed two runs on nine hits in six innings. Andrew Saalfrank, Kendall Graveman and Kevin Ginkel each pitched a scoreless inning to close it out. Marte hit his 21st home run of the season — a solo shot off J.T. Ginn (2-3) in the first — to give the Diamondbacks the early lead. Nick Kurtz had a one-out single in the third off Gallen and Shea Langeliers and Tyler Soderstrom had back-to-back two-out doubles to give the Athletics a 2-1 lead.
