Bali Body's bestselling gradual tan that leaves no orange sheets is on sale

Daily Mirror04-06-2025
"It gives a mousse-like medium bronze tone but with the skin-loving benefits of a hydrating body butter"
As a person who turns practically translucent in the winter and remains eerily pale even when summer arrives, I've always been envious of those who effortlessly bronze and glow as soon as the sun shines. Unfortunately, my skin doesn't tan anymore – it just freckles.
So, when I planned a tropical holiday this year, I knew I needed something to give me a bit of healthy colour. The issue is, fake tan and I have a complex relationship. I've tried several that left me streaky, orange or smelling like biscuits. I also despise tans that feel sticky to sleep in and transfer onto sheets. However, I'd heard glowing reviews about Bali Body's Gradual Tanning Butter, a moisturiser-tanning hybrid promising hydrated, buttery-soft skin with a buildable golden glow.
It seemed like a dream for someone like me – a fake tan avoider with zero patience for high-maintenance beauty routines. I packed a tub in my suitcase and kept my fingers crossed. After using it religiously every evening on holiday (and still going strong now that I'm back), I can't see myself replacing it with another tan. And now that it's on sale on Boots for £17.99 instead of £26.99, I'm stocking right up!
So, why is it so good? If you love the idea of a gradual tan but still want to see some colour without waiting days, Bali Body's Gradual Tanning Butter has your name all over it. It gives you a slow-build bronze but with the bonus of a bit more oomph – think the instant tint you'd get from a medium mousse, but way more moisturising. The texture is rich and buttery, sinks in like a dream and leaves your skin with a subtle glow straight away, so you're not left wondering if it's actually doing anything.
Ingredient-wise, it's a proper skin treat. There's shea butter, cocoa butter and aloe vera in the mix to keep things soft and smooth, and vitamin E gives it that extra bit of TLC. The colour deepens over the next day or two, but you still get that satisfying just-applied warmth, which makes it perfect for topping up your tan or faking a little holiday skin midweek. No streaks, no smell, and definitely no waiting around in a towel – just healthy-looking colour and skin that feels like velvet.
While the medium bronze shade is perfect for me, I can appreciate some people love a darker bronze. So if you were to ask me whether there's a tan out there that develops a bit darker but still doesn't transfer onto sheets or feel sticky, I'd direct you to Tan-Luxe's Hydra-Mousse Hydrating Self Tan Mousse. It's a bit of a splurge at £36, but it's probably the only mousse I don't dread using.

‘I found an innovative red light LED hair brush that's perfect for encouraging faster hair growth'

Shopping Writer Meghan has found an red light hair brush that's said to help encourage hair to grow back faster and healthier - and it comes with a budget-friendly price tag Red light therapy is all the rage at the moment, as beauty buffs bask in its benefits for the skin, especially when it comes to rejuvenating a dull complexion and combating signs of ageing. That said, red light doesn't just stop there. It's been proven that red light therapy can also help stimulate the scalp, helping hair follicles to reproduce faster and healthier. Red light can help reverse hair loss and encourage hair to grow back fuller, stronger, and shinier than before. CurrentBody, a brand known for its LED red light beauty gadgets, offers an LED Hair Growth Helmet that, with regular use, can increase hair growth rate by 128% in 12 weeks. That said, this CurrentBody helmet retails for the hefty price of £649.99. But if you're looking for a way to add red light to your haircare routine without blowing the bank, this LED hair brush that I found may be just the ticket. This StylPro Root Renew Hairbrush is a red light therapy hairbrush designed for daily use. It increases volume and creates polished touch-ups to your hairdo. What's more, this hair brush retails for a fraction of the price of other red light therapies, selling for £39.99 at Lookfantastic. It's also available from Boots, Next, Superdrug, and Amazon for the same price. This StylePro Root Renew Hairbrush is thoughtfully designed with both beauty and functionality in mind. The innovative brush effortlessly nurtures the scalp to promote optimal conditions for healthy-looking hair growth, using red light that stimulates the blood flow of oxygen and essential nutrients to hair follicles, increasing hair density and faster growth. Boasting a handy shape that ensures targeted treatment for optimal scalp coverage in patches that need attention. Perfect for busy mornings, midday touch-ups, or post-work transitions, the Root Renew Hairbrush is a great choice for both at-home and on-the-go use. Combining haircare and smart technology, the red-light therapy brush has a 655mm LED light and soothing vibrations to help reduce the rate of hair loss while creating a sleeker, rejuvenated finish. What's great about this hairbrush is that it's completely cordless and capable of being recharged periodically. So you can easily throw this small gadget in your bag to use when you're outside of the house or while you're at home, going about your everyday chores. Equipped with 49x LED Bristles that make this brush feel like your average hairbrush, the StylPro Root Renew promotes hair growth and improves hair health by stimulating the scalp, boosting circulation, and enhancing follicle activity with expert-recommended wavelengths. Designed with ergonomically curved bristles, this Silicone brush comfortably contours to the scalp, providing targeted therapy while ensuring a gentle, effective massage for all hair types, whether thick, fine, or textured. Its customizable approach ensures a comfortable and effective treatment for everyone, promoting hair health without compromise, while stimulating hair follicles and encouraging thicker, healthier hair. I can't attest to the long-term benefits of this hairbrush yet, but plenty of shoppers have been quick to sing its praises. One 5-star reviewer raves: "Love this brush I use it at night so relaxing. It also seems to make my hair feel like there's more of it lol. As I'm a fine haired gal this makes me very happy. Can't comment on hair growth as haven't been using it long enough." Another buyer beams: "Great, easy tool to use, been using it for a few weeks and seeing small improvements to thicker hair growing from my scalp!" Further accolades come from this customer who shares: "Amazing!! I have never tried anything like this before, and it has done wonders for my hair health! After only a couple of months of using, I have seen new baby hair growth and less breakage around my scalp!" And a further shopper chimes in: "I've been using this every other day and it's really relaxing on a night before bed. The vibration gives a really lovely massage and relieves any head tension. After around 2 weeks of use I've noticed less hair is coming out when I brush. Excited to see the prolonged results!"

Pistyll Rhaedr tearoom visitors are raving about on TikTok

Social media is raving about a "charming" little tearoom in Powys which boasts "the best waterfall view in Wales". Pistyll Rhaeadr is a popular waterfall, located in the Berwyn Mountains, just inside the Powys border, west of Oswestry. At 240ft (80m), it is Britain's tallest single-drop waterfall. Despite often being referred to as a " hidden gem", it is a popular UK tourist attraction, even being described on Tripadvisor as "one of the country's seven wonders". "Charming" Powys tearoom with "the best waterfall view" While the waterfall itself is the main drawcard, Tan-y-Pistyll Tearoom is also a hit amongst visitors. One customer, in a video on TikTok, even described it as "the cafe with the best waterfall view". Aysewales, posting on TikTok said: "Such a beautiful waterfall view this cafe has. I love sipping my coffee and watching the view from the porch. "You would love here if you are a nature lover. Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall." @aysewales Such a beautiful waterfall view this cafe has. It also offers a "homely and easygoing" atmosphere for customers. The Tan-y-Pistyll Tearoom website adds: "Whether drinking hot chocolate around the log fire in winter or eating ice-creams and drinks outside in summer, one thing that is always commented on about Pistyll Rhaeadr is the friendliness found here." There is seating indoors and outdoors, with a pagoda overlooking Pistyll Rhaeadr. Despite only boasting a 2.7 (out of 5) rating on Tripadvisor from 41 reviews, Tan-y-Pistyll Tearoom has still received high praise from other customers online. One visitor said: "After reading poor reviews of Tan-y-Pistyll Café, we were very pleasantly surprised to be given a warm welcome into what is a very charming cafe area. "The toasted sandwich I chose was one of the best served with a fresh and varied side salad. "Reports of the cafe only accepting cash were untrue, although on the odd occasion when the Wi-Fi signal is poor do they have to resort to cash only. "I would definitely recommend a visit." Another added: "Stopped for coffee and a cake after visiting the beautiful falls - both were excellent, decor delightful." The Tan-y-Pistyll Tearoom has also been described by visitors as "cute" and a "lovely cafe full of character".

Product recalls like this are issued when items pose a risk to health, even if the danger is only present in some batches or under certain conditions. This comes just days after another recall involving toys sold online, including a remote-control car imported from China that contained unsafe chemical levels and posed a serious health risk. If you have any concerns about a product you've bough for your child, you can check the official government product recalls and alerts page. Safety experts advise parents to regularly inspect children's toys for damage, strange smells, or any signs of mould, especially if they've been stored in damp areas. Your product recall rights Chief consumer reporter James Flanders reveals all you need to know. Product recalls are an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods. As a general rule, if a recall involves a branded product, the manufacturer would usually have lead responsibility for the recall action. But it's often left up to supermarkets to notify customers when products could put them at risk. If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer's website to see if a safety notice has been issued. When it comes to appliances, rather than just food items, the onus is usually on you - the customer - to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don't there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault. If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer. They should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice. In some cases, the manufacturer might ask you to return the item for a full refund or arrange for the faulty product to be collected. You should not be charged for any recall work - such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item
